Woah wait. He hits the crossing and all, and THEN the lights and gates activate? Was there even a train or is that a safety thing built in if something on the grade crossing malfunctions at any time and they activate just for safety of any train with no proper functioning warning devices?
Not really a safety feature, More just how the signal works. The trains wheels connect the two rails which each carry a small current, and when connected or shorted out they trigger the signal. There arent really any safety features, except, at the signal box along the tracks there is a bulb and it tells the train when the crossing gate works or not.
Railroadfan5383 it happens every time a crossing getting damaged like if A gate light fell off to warn that the crossings broke and the Maintenance crew should fix it
i wish this kinda thing would happen where i live when im there to see it... tho i would probably be trying to grab all the bits i can off the ground lol
it is most common to build gantry style crossings in north america, typically build in areas with hills or high traffic, and how about next time before you say ever one is stupid you learn about how things work.... clearly certain things are done for a reason.
Doesn't really matter, its the duty of the truck driver to check his/her clearances, any time a truck crashes into a stationary object it will always be the truckers fault.
Hope there wasn't another train coming from the opposite direction after the first one pass because if there is they better hope they get it stopped in time because if not you're looking at a huge train wreck
Did you watch the video and hear what the pilot car driver has said on the radio he said he had to wait for train to go by did you hear that or not that's the reason why I said that hope there's not another train coming from the other direction if you did not hear it then I strongly suggest on re watching it and listen carefully and you'll see what I mean by that
Shouldn't there be an escort truck in front with a long pole to make sure that the wide load truck clears things like cantilever crossings?
R.I.P
Loved Railroad Crossings will be remembered forever
If anyone was curious, this crossing is located on US-77 in Marysville, Kansas.
Thought so
Thanks
Thankfully I Been Found This Location For Many Years And Right Now I Found It Today. 😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅
Wow! That must've been scary!
2:45 Truck hits railroad Croosing Gate
Woah wait. He hits the crossing and all, and THEN the lights and gates activate? Was there even a train or is that a safety thing built in if something on the grade crossing malfunctions at any time and they activate just for safety of any train with no proper functioning warning devices?
Made the crossing short out, which is a safety feature to activate.

No, it’s a system and since parts were hit as a fail safe the crossing activates
thats what that little light is for!? was always curious to that...
Railroadfan5383 it happens every time a crossing getting damaged like if A gate light fell off to warn that the crossings broke and the Maintenance crew should fix it
2:45 cuz I just sat here waiting for the train... CRASH!
WRONG TIME ITS 2:46
Well, the crossing does start an activation soon after impact.
What’s the road
That truck is an insult to trains everywhere... The railroad industry has been slapped in the face...
Charles Randolph I'm pretty sure he didn't do it on purpose...
AN UNFORTUNATE ACCIDENT THINGS LIKE THIS HAPPENS.GLAD NO ONE WAS INJURED.
about between 20,000 to 40,000 worth of damage to the crossing
???? Yeah no more like $300K + lmao $20,000 is the price of the red lights only.
i wish this kinda thing would happen where i live when im there to see it... tho i would probably be trying to grab all the bits i can off the ground lol
It’s a railroad crossing cantilever.
He shouldn’t build high that will destroy traffic signal and Railroad Signal structure.
Damn!
Rip lights that got ran over by driver
Now off to be scrapped
Did he pay for it

Former Swift driver, I didn’t hear anything.
12:42 DANG. It DESTROYED it!
Location?
Marysville Kansas
MetraMP36414 dude, u gotta see this!
OMG!
It broke like it was made of Legos .... Not the drivers fault why the hell did they even build it where it hangs over the road like that
maybe the part about being an oversized load makes it the drivers fault
It's made to break away in case some nimrod forgets he has an oversized load.
There may have been a hill or a truck road, and so people don’t get frustrated, the signals show cars behind trucks that the gates are activated

Please stop talking if you don't know what you're talking about. They are huilt this way for safety reasons.
😂 that load must have been 16’5 or taller.
I want to see more over size trucks do some destruction
wow the truck driver pay lots of money
Mta Subway System the grass is green
2:46 OOF
Dang he knocked down the whole cantilever
not the trucker's fault
Yes it is, they plan out their route and look out for obstacles.
Trains of Northeast Wisconsin In the truck driver's defense, it's not indicated how tall a cantilever is.
Doesn't really matter, its the duty of the truck driver to check his/her clearances, any time a truck crashes into a stationary object it will always be the truckers fault.
they planned the route ahead of time, thus knew of the tracks, thus its their fault
@@Trainfan1055Janathan clearly you don't know anything about heavy haul.
Woah!
omg ran over a light
Hope there wasn't another train coming from the opposite direction after the first one pass because if there is they better hope they get it stopped in time because if not you're looking at a huge train wreck
but there were no trains.....
Why would there be a train wreck?
