She went online and bashed her client that she mutilated and then rightfully got 💩 because the client didn’t just accept that. Embarrassing. Infuriating. And a gross unwarranted god complex. My god. Please please let her pick a new career that doesn’t involve anything permanent.
I wonder if she wanted to post a video first in case she thought the client would first. Wouldn’t surprise me considering all the drama that happens on the internet now
As a young tattoo artist. This situation horrifies me. This poor client was supposed to trust the artist on so many levels, and on basically every single level the client was done dirty. I said this on another video about Sprigs... all you have to do is look at her online portfolio to see that there is likely a good amount of internal racism at play. Her page is pale canvas after pale canvas and I can only imagine there is bias happening. Let's set the record straight: melanated skin DOES NOT have to be overworked for ink to show. Melanated skin DOES NOT have to be tattooed deeper, and melanated people SHOULD NOT have to deal with professionals who dont go out of their way to learn about different skin types. If I was more experienced and wealthy id fly this lady out free of charge tattoo gate style to give her a bangin coverup. Sprigs should be ashamed of all the deflection, her ego will likely be her downfall.
As a melanated person, I can confirm this. My tattoo artist was lighthanded. I never felt the needle so hard on my skin. It was a breeze. This is the "black people don't feel pain" vibe. The racism. 😤
I’m looking to get into tattooing and this whole story is absolutely insane. There are SO MANY ARTISTS that don’t care nearly enough and seemingly just do it for the money, which blows my mind!
@@muchomangotangosAs a "melanated person" - do you feel that's an appropriate way to get adressed? I'm legitimatly interested because I would have expected it to feel at least euphemistic if not demeaning - but that could be owed to personal bias because in my native language this way to put it would get taken as "parodizing woke" carrying racist undertones, that's why it leaves kind of a foul taste behind after putting all emphasis on a specific pigment, especially since "white" people are "melanated" as well.
@@kai_plays_khomus I understand your view point. Native languages depending on where you're from can have different meanings. In English, the word "melanated" refers to people of Black (or brown) complexion. There are no racist undertones when used. Now, if the OP said "colored", that's a different story. I would never refer to myself as "colored" since it was/is used to demean and dehumanize the black community. Hope this helps.
I did not expect to be this annoyed, but by the time she got to calling people “clout chasers” for responding to the video SHE decided to post, or for standing up for themselves against her public accusations, I was livid. She’s actually a menace, and completely unable to take accountability.
I’m so confused what half of this stuff she was talking about was relevant in anyway?? I stopped a pregnant woman from getting tattooed…. Okay?? So you didn’t mess up this new tattoo because you stopped the present woman?
Okay Lai is quite literally the most laid back person I’ve ever seen-fr wish I could be her friend. So she’s the only one I believe when she says I “didn’t wanna do this”. It’s very clear who wanted the drama…
literally. she only made a video when her reputation was at stake even though she would’ve been extremely valid to expose sprigs beforehand. sprigs only made a video to garner sympathy for something that was her fault 😭
This is probably THE case example of someone creating drama for themselves. This is bad for business, even when it IS a real sob story. You're a professional business owner, you take the risk, _you manage the risk._ You don't post super personal things that put you MORE at risk. There is a reason big corporations just find a reason to fire people or settle out of court, they know that despite their objective successes and power that you don't air out your dirty laundry as a business. This was drama, pure and simple. _It benefited NOBODY._
As a heavily tattoed black person with mixed heritage, I have seen time and time again artists mess up tattoos on melanated skin. I'm fortunate to have only had artists that have experience with melanated skin and a lot of years learning so many styles. I've met inexperienced artists that told me my skin was too dark for color ink and I could only have black line work. Little did they know I have three decent sized, color tattoos that are 5-10 years old, and clear as day. I feel like the industry standard should be to educate yourself on how to tattoo different types of skin to be more accessible to your client base.
i don't get why this isn't the standard anyway. like, if i would want to put art on peoples bodies i would do everything to learn how to get the best results on every skin type. i also don't get it why so many hairstylists mess up afro hair because they don't know how to handle it and don't bother to learn. why wouldn't you want to learn how to do the best job you can and make the client happy? if someone is passionate about their craft they should be exited to educate themselves to get better. i mean, i know racism plays a huge role in this, but it's still unfathomable to me why it's so common.
So she is saying that she never got any training, and she chose to give people permanent tattoos anyways instead of getting trained properly, and she wants us to feel bad for HER for it?! I feel bad for all her clients, every piece ive seen from her looks absolutely horrible
I went back and watched the first video and had to come back to comment a second time. In the tiktoks in THIS video, Spriggs says she has an 'after' photo of the tattoo saying it didn't look so damaged. HOWEVER in the PREVIOUS video in one of her tiktoks, she claims that the client rushed out too quickly for her to GET an 'after' photo!
I take issue with her saying "I only made that first video to express that people make mistake" when in that video she went out of her way to make the client seem as negative as possible and vilify them.
Interesting how the worst spot that the client apparently healed wrong.. is the mispelled spot.. wild that an apparent artist would accuse someone of damaging their own skin, their own health??! Wild
I keep coming back to the fact that Spriggs brought this on herself by posting the 1st video! Not a soul would've known about this situation without her video. It's not like Lai posted a video first complaining and then Spriggs responded; no no, Spriggs posted a video out of the blue, and is now the victim somehow? It's both maddening and hilarious to me!
Okay I'm only a few minutes in so this may be brought up, but didn't the artist SPECIFICALLY say in the first video that they couldn't get a picture of the tattoo because the customer ran out so fast? But now they're claiming that they DO have a photo? Doesn't add up 🤔
Don’t know if it’s just me noticing it now but u seem to be dressing a lil more retro / pin up style in these last few videos and it suits you so much!!! Getting Bettie page/dita vibes 🤩🤩
Literally none of this hate would have happened if the “artist” didn’t run to the internet. Lai was far kinder than Spriggs deserves and couldn’t be bothered. So why air out your own dirty laundry? No one asked for this
I grew up in this town, and got my first few tattoos from Joko. He was ALWAYS offering apprenticeships to people that were willing to learn. She has no excuse for not being trained properly. Even if she had a shop environment to learn in, there's still plenty of information for her to find online as an apprentice. I had to do the same thing in my apprenticeship, as my mentors all abandoned me, but I still put in the effort to grow and learn by myself. In North Dakota, she probably doesn't have much opportunity to practice on melanated skin, which is why her page is so *caucasian.* I primarily tattoo black or brown skin, and you have to be more gentle with it. She scarred Lai up, by overworking the skin. You should never go over a tattoo on melanated skin more than once in the same session, and Spriggs should have known that color on top of black is not a solution. She sounds like she's trying to deflect the blame by saying "I'm not as bad as these OTHER artists here." when in reality, she is. As a tattoo artist for about the same amount of time as her, I would NEVER imagine opening my own studio at this time, or trying to force other artists in other shops to adhere to my policies. Private studios are killing the trust that the public has with tattoo artists.
All of it was making me bananas but I lost it at"I want to be very fluid with you all"... do you mean transparent because that's not even close to the same thing. And then she named the video that. STOP IT.
@@brookeg5979like I don't think there is even slang definition of "fluid" to try amd make that fit...Girl is really trying to sound smarter than she is...I would say it's like when your friend randomly reads through a thesaurus, but at least then they use big/uncommon words and usually use them correctly.
She tried to use her white woman tears and it backfired hard. Before anyone gets upset, I’m a white woman who hates crying at all even more now that I have seen how other women have used their tears to get their way and sympathy, leaving those who are actually suffering and in need to be side eyed because of it.
I don't have any tattoos and never will. But big respect to the artistry behind something that can be so personal and meaningful to so many people. The idea of someone messing something up like that is honestly horrific
I'm basing this on the thumbnail and her previous actions, but I can't believe the lack of accountability on the artists part. Just admit you fucked her up. I mean seriously. By refusing to admit she did that she's only making her current and possible clients less likely to go to her for anything! Admit you were wrong and offer an ACTUAL solution and apology, ffs.
Especially where her client was absurdly cool with being scarred for life. She could have made this right so easily.. she just keeps choosing to complain and cry though. She is acting like a child. "Can you delete the tiktok where you lie about me?" "I'LL DELETE MY WHOLE PAGE" 😭😭😭 Like JEEEEEZ, calm down. Yet somehow, she still gives off the vibe that she does. not. care. at all about her client!! Wild.
I think if she was to just be like “hey, I messed up. I messed up the tattoo and then I went and made that video and exaggerated the whole situation and I was wrong for doing that” then her reputation would still be ruined but she could have prevented how bad this got.
I've just watched several "drama in the ___ community" videos in a row, and the common thread is that the point of drama origin could have stopped things from getting worse at literally any moment just by STOPPING. Put the camera down, stop actively doing the terrible thing, and watch this seemingly runaway train just slow to a halt. Any time. But they can't or won't.
In the previous video she literally said she wasn’t able to take a photo before the woman left the second time and now she’s claiming she has a photo of the “fixed” tattoo
I really don’t understand why she made the video in the first place… I understand being upset or being freaked out because the client is upset but she definitely isn’t the first person that has ever done this? She could’ve just apologized, offered a refund or free repair appointment right away, and went on with life learning how to go about it better in the future. The video and all the drama just had literally NO PURPOSE.
honestly, im a self-taught tattoo artist because no one in my town was open for apprendiceships, but I def studied A LOT about bio-safety, tested on fake skin and my own skin before EVER going to client's skin. its been over 5 years now and im still always studying to be better because i know how much being an apprendice is important to the profession. I would NEVER put myself in the situation of RUNNING A SHOP before I learned how to properly tattoo, especially being self-taught. its scary that people arent taking this profession as seriously as they should. also the level of disdain that this "professional" had for her client, the way she talked about her, and the SHIT WORK she did on her skin just honestly shows how much she does not know anything about tattooing on darker skin (and clearly does not care to learn). she treated lai's skin so poorly its disgusting to see
Literally the same scenario has been unfolding in another community whereby the person took it upon themselves to air out dirty laundry and cannot handle the backlash they’ve created. To be this aloof as an adult is seriously a gift and frightening at the same time.
As a tattoo artist, there’s something incredibly disheartening and frustrating than hearing other tattoo artists blaming their clients for their own shitty work. You did the tattoo, if its fucked up, and your client is giving you an opportunity to respond and take responsibility, how could you react anyway EXCEPT for feeling sorry and doing whatever you can to make it right. This whole scenario is a shitstain on the profession of tattooing.
i personally don’t think it’s irrational to be angry about people drunk driving & filming while driving!! i think those are two of the stupidest things a person could do!!
I had a tattoo from an artist id never been to before heal absolutely horribly....sooo patchy and faded. When I went back to get it fixed, his first question was asking what **I** did to it. I'm fairly well covered in many other tattoos, all of which have healed beautifully, and I used the same after care as always on this one. So frustrating when an artist tries to throw all the blame on their client. (For the record, even after the touch up that tattoo is still patchy.)
I don’t want to say what I’m about to say but it may be relevant…. As someone in recovery, I notice the canter and slur in her voice… I have almost 11 years clean and I remember speaking that way myself 11 years ago… so it worries me as someone who understands what that lifestyle is like, and how unsanitary it can be… and she’s tattooing… I worry for her clients if what I’m thinking is true, and I worry for her. I may me completely off and I hope I am, but I’ve been listening and not watching as I do my night skincare routine, and I had to comment on what I’m hearing. The misuse of some words and especially the tone/cadence of speaking, and where the voice is coming from like more in the throat and I know it sounds strange, but I have video of myself speaking that way, from 11 years ago… people I loved and lost to that darkness spoke the same way… it’s pretty much a universal thing in that life :( I hope so much I’m wrong and I’m not accusing anything, just observing what I’m hearing. You can rinse away any soap with distilled water, alcohol is fine to use but you're not gonna get a single wipe in from a bigger piece that's heavy color or shading . Had someone do it to my stomach and ribs to try to remove the rest of the stencil after 9 hours. I ran away from him, wasn't letting it happen. But so bad. @ghoulishgrl
@@ghoulishgrlthey're supposed to use a different cleaning solution than alcohol to wipe the tattoo during the process. Alcohol will dry your skin out too much to be using it for anything other than cleaning before bandaging
Amen
@@squaresquids yes. i’m an artist and we would never wipe with alcohol during the actual tattooing part. i meant before bandaging as in like, only right before!
She is NOT the victim, Lai deserves compensation for having her skin scarred like this, I don’t see her showing any sympathy towards Lai who has been left with this damage and it’s so frustrating
"I have no training to tattoo people but I tattoo people anyway and it's not my fault the tattoos are scared and healing bad! It's the clients who aren't doing their part properly even though they have never had problems healing a tattoo before!" 🙄
Don't forget the blame for everyone who said they were going to train her and then didn't! It's not her fault she's untrained and tattooing anyway! /s
The fact that she is recording this video while driving says everything we need to know about her sense of responsibility towards others.
This was so tremendously frustrating, she STARTED THIS, how can she talk about clout chasers and not communicating about things outside of social media, when that’s what SHE did!!!! She went online and bashed her client that she mutilated and then rightfully got 💩 because the client didn’t just accept that. Embarrassing. Infuriating. And a gross unwarranted god complex. My god. Please please let her pick a new career that doesn’t involve anything permanent.
Next she'll become a surgeon without studying.
@@sylverscale I was literally thinking that 😂😂
I wonder if she wanted to post a video first in case she thought the client would first.
Is tattooing not regulated?!
I think she imagines that good deeds cancel out bad acts, and she also imagines these are truly good deeds rather than the bare minimum.
You're a professional business owner, you take the risk, _you manage the risk._
You don't post super personal things that put you MORE at risk.
There is a reason big corporations just find a reason to fire people or settle out of court, they know that despite their objective successes and power that you don't air out your dirty laundry as a business.
This was drama, pure and simple.
_It benefited NOBODY._
we would have never known about this if the spriggs hadnt cried to tiktok over a client that wasnt making anything public?
Lai is such a pretty name
Agreed. If this were any other job, she’s probably get arrested. “I never went to med school, but I’ve been doing surgery on people anyway.”
The main thing that bothers me about Sprigs is the way she films herself so we have to look up her nose the whole time.
Every. Single. Time. 😭😭😭😂😳
Seriously. Like. Woman. I do not need to see the contents of your nostrils. Angle the camera towards your actual face please.
Omg could we all take a moment to appreciate Lai's hairstyling work? Absolutely beautiful.
Huh. Interesting. Very interesting. Would love to see that photo that she couldn’t get because Lai “rushed out” 😂
Excellent Watson! 🔍🕵♂️
Schrodingers photo 😆 it only exists if you don't ask to see it hahahaha
Her video could have been 30 seconds long, "I messed up. I apologize. I will try to do better." But nope.
Okay I'm only a few minutes in so this may be brought up, but didn't the artist SPECIFICALLY say in the first video that they couldn't get a picture of the tattoo because the customer ran out so fast? But now they're claiming that they DO have a photo? Doesn't add up 🤔
Oh wait!!!!!!! You’re so so right !!!!!
@@treacletatts I think this shows that I'm too invested in this story 😅
I had the same thought
there was so many inconsistencies in her story, she kept flip flopping depending on what new information came out
Don’t know if it’s just me noticing it now but u seem to be dressing a lil more retro / pin up style in these last few videos and it suits you so much!!! Getting Bettie page/dita vibes 🤩🤩
Ty 😍 I’m just trying out new things for funsies 😂
That woman sounds insufferable. She’s her own worst enemy at this point. Love how she thinks she’s the victim here. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
@8:09 I’m not going to publicly just demeanour other people.
I think we can all conquer that she will 😂
I conquer 😂
Hahahahaha such an underrated comment
😂
🤣😭 I cringed when she said that 😬🥴😅
With her bad grammar and constant misuse of words, makes me think she really shouldn't be going anywhere near tats with words in them.
Demeanor and demean mean two very different things
Sis need a dictionary so bad. That made me so angry
Please it was so embarrassing. Read a book or something Im begging
Sis has never heard of a dictionary 😂 her grammar is so atrocious. Her speech and tattoo work are both garbage 😂
Tattoogate season 2 just dropped!
This is season 3 for me. Season 2 is the beatboxing blueberry.
I don’t have any tattoos either and watch this channel for entertainment
“Are the good tattoos in the room with us right now?” 😂
I just cackled so goddamn loud I woke my cat up and she gave me the biggest death stare hahaha
"Can you delete the tiktok where you lie about me?"
"I'LL DELETE MY WHOLE PAGE" 😭😭😭
Like JEEEEEZ, calm down.
Yet somehow, she still gives off the vibe that she does. not. care. at all about her client!!
Wild.
"Are the good tattoos in the room right now", then the montage. KILLED ME. Get her queen
Sounds like she shouldn't be tattooing. Now I'm wondering about who left her in charge of the shop in the 1st place. 🤔
There's a saying in the industry: "You're only as good as your last tattoo."
Loves how she blames literally everyone but herself
"I don't want to make drama" - The person who posts Tik Toks whinging about their clients and colleagues

LOL
Nothing says “I deeply care about this” like filming while you’re doing something else
*sob* I'm going to leave tattoo industry.

Thank goodness! Please do. We will help you pack and look for other careers.
I would NEVER put myself in the situation of RUNNING A SHOP before I learned how to properly tattoo, especially being self-taught. its scary that people arent taking this profession as seriously as they should.
also the level of disdain that this "professional" had for her client, the way she talked about her, and the SHIT WORK she did on her skin just honestly shows how much she does not know anything about tattooing on darker skin (and clearly does not care to learn). she treated lai's skin so poorly its disgusting to see
it's pretty rational anger tbh! you are in charge of a ton of metal going at ludicrous speeds this is not the time to get silly with it
I love this description for tattooing
Literally the same scenario has been unfolding in another community whereby the person took it upon themselves to air out dirty laundry and cannot handle the backlash they’ve created. To be this aloof as an adult is seriously a gift and frightening at the same time.
The mouth noises she keeps making in her “apology” is driving me more insane than her finger-pointing is
As a tattoo artist, there’s something incredibly disheartening and frustrating than hearing other tattoo artists blaming their clients for their own shitty work.
I hope everyone involved finds stability and happiness ❤
“i don’t know what it is about this situation-” i do! it’s the blatant racism
(not a dig at u Treacle, i’m just pointing it out)
She already said that in her last video about the tattooist and talked about it in length….you should watch it, it was a very good video!

I think some people need to remember that they don't need to tell the Internet everything (in regard to the first video grom Sprigg) 😂😂 what happened to having private lives
The amount of businesses I've seen implode themselves on tik tok recently by posting a video they DIDN'T NEED TO POST 🙃😐
It’s wild what people willingly share nowadays!
Lauren the way you tell these stories is great! you are always very clear, it is structured, funny and honest. I could listen to you explain and talk about a story for 1000 hours. thank you❤
Ah thank you so so much!!! That means a lot to me!! I find it hard to follow stuff sometimes so I do it in a way I know I’d understand and not to make it complicated or all over the place 😂🩷
Spriggs tattoo was way too deep!!! That's gonna take years for the scars to heal and it's still not going to look good. And if Lai(sorry if I misspelled your name), gets it's lasered, they're going to have scars forever.
No one would deliberately mess up a tattoo that would completely irrashional she claims no responsibility for the major mess up she did
Her work does speak for itself- it’s not good though - it says some pretty offensive things
XD
And she has the nerve to call herself an artist! 🤦🏻♀️
I got the ick SO hard when she said "this community is supposed to be so beautiful, i want to get it there"

Right like just bc her corner of the 'community' is so fucked up and ugly is only a reflection on herself and any colleagues in her circle.

Wow I'm early! Hi! 💖
I'm just an apprentice but I can tell you that this scarring is tattoo artist fault not the client, she basically carved in her skin, that can lead to keloids WHICH IS BAD BECAUSE YOU CAN'T TATTOO ON THEM this whole situation makes me angry, this "tattoo artist" is just bad not only at her job but at taking accountability 😤 I'm learning on fake skin and even when doing that I'm treating fake skin like it's my client to then never hurt my future clients

i suspect that she never tattooed people with darker skin types before at all and believes the misinformation about darker skin being thicker without doing any research on how to treat this skin types. so basically blatant ignorancy. the only other explanation would be that she had done it on purpose.

Why did she have to film while driving?!
"4 minutes ago" oooh i'm just in time for the tea
Friends not having hair and nail licenses working on each other is one thing and it feels like she’s acting like this is the same and it’s just not. Especially when you’re lying about what you can do.
And hair and nails are not permanent.

....is she seriously trying to say that the tattoo looking how it does, is because of the client not following recovery procedures? Really?! Shes not gonna blame the crap tattoo on anything other than her giving a crap tattoo, right? She is not about to blame this on the client. Theres no way
The fact that she was recording this while driving just shows how irresponsible she is in my opinion.
It screams "but I'm the victim" to me.

Im sorry. Did she just say ALCOHOL AFTER THE TATTOO?!?!?! Not only does that hurt like hell, it dries the tattoo out. Thats a horrible idea.
I’ve been a fan for years, and although you have always been beautiful, this old Hollywood glam inspired look you have going on now is absolutely stunning!!! ❤
The only time i agree with being self taught is if you are a person of color or you are trying to learn to tattoo darker skintones there is still so many barriers still for people of color on both sides of the tattoo industry that i give some grace there (within reason)
Any good artist would have owned up to their mistake and perhaps even offer compensation for what happened. I can’t feel bad for someone who refuses to take accountability

Same Same. I had my sternum cut in half for open heart surgery and the scars pulled and healed badly in places, and it STILL looks better than what she did to Lai’s skin.
