      @@prodbyrt1956 I have both pairs right here, and what I can tell you is that it depends on your needs. If you want a little bit more flatness to your overall sound MR4 is the way to go, you can feel their frequency range is just bigger and better. E3.5 is definitely a multimedia/monitor speaker with a very pronounced bass/mid curve and they are, of course, way louder than MR4. Im using MR4 now, and to be honest Im not coming back. Bass is just so much better in MR4

      @@fractalized3 that’s very interesting.. well I’m looking for monitors for reference mixing and music production mainly.. my room isn’t treated so I’m not very picky about the frequency response but yes it is important.. anyways it’s surprising because Eris e3.5 r more popular as a “studio monitors” and ah u say they r not as flat as MR4?? In that case ig I have to stick with MR4

    • @fractalized3
      @fractalized3 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@prodbyrt1956 My man, take it from someone who has both pairs connected and active at the moment of writing this comment. MR4 are way better for flatness and studio monitoring overall, 3.5 are nice, very very nice actually, but they do indeed have a boost curve, they will serve well as monitors too, I used them for 4 years in a previous workstation. MR4 also have better stereo imaging which is quite relevant when mixing. Also take into account the 2 modes MR4 offers, "Music" which has a boost curve around the mids and "Monitor" mode which is as flat as the speakers can get. MR4 also have DPS protection, which some people like some don't, the speakers will compress or even suppress low frequencies beyond the supported threshold to prevent damage to the cone. ALSO, and very important! 3.5 have an expiry date, believe or not, everyone I know that has had them report 4 years of good use, before getting huge noises and hisses. You can also verify this through different reviews out there and reddit post of people reporting the same for some reason. I know this is too much but I also know how important and frustrating the process of picking a pair of speakers can be. Cheers! Hope this is helpful!

    Mr4 are lacking in mids while the Presonus tweeter gives a bit of clarity in mids but lacks on bass, which only subwoofer can solve the problem on presonus. In the end of the day, Mr4 are also great in terms in sound and aesthetics. We all have personal preference and use your ears. Whatever you choose between these two, still a win. Specially if you’re upgrading on a normal/generic speakers.

    I wonder. On brandnew speakers things are harder to judge. They need to get rid of that initial stiffness first. I wonder how the Edifier sounds after enough playing time
    For now it's hard to say. The Edifier seems a bit muddier, while the presonus seems more crisp. Also the presones seems punchier, which is better for monitoring in a studio. The lazyness of the Edifier might dissapear after a couple of hours, so I can't say. As for build, the box itself, the knobs, the studio versus music positions the edifier wins as well as for warmth and thickness. The presonus wins on crisp and punchy sounds, though it also tends to thin and a bit canny sound. That been said, I had to judge this on my tv monitors which aren't the best.
