    Here's an update from my friend Lauren, and how much she loves her Bucket Backpack!
    Lauren: I do LOVE my backpack! Its been the best solution to trying to look sophisticated and stylish while carrying all the gear of a 1 year old and a potty training 3 year old. I stuff it full, throw it in the car, let life wear it out:). I do wear it everyday and I take it everywhere (except to a nice event where I'm wearing heels). I stuff it everyday with kids stuff and my stuff and head out on our daily adventures. Well, I do wear this bag everyday and take it absolutely everywhere (church, grocery store, playdates, medical/therapy appointments, work). I wear it over one shoulder or over both, or sometimes carry it by smaller strap. You know, I have a 1 and 3 year old, so I carry a lot of stuff! Its a great bag in that it fits a lot in it, when something spills in it, I'm not worried, I throw it in the car and don't think twice, and it matches everything I wear. I'm not "hard" on my things, but I do live my life trying to buy nice things so they can tolerate my "pleasantly active" (aka busy) lifestyle. This bag holds up! I would buy this bag again in another color if not two. And I'd even buy this bag if it was smaller. Oh! And I get compliments on it ALL the time!

    I feel weird because I have watched this video like 20 times. I have purchased one used and am waiting for it to come in, so my excitement keeps bringing me back!
    Thanks for your awesome videos, they helped me pick my perfect leather bag :)

      Just got back from my first 4 day trip with this backpack. I absolutely love it. It has a ton of space and is pretty easy to carry while toting my 5 month old son. However, the only two negatives I have about this bag are the big open space does mean a lot of searching for lost items (even in pouches), and the weight. I have a Camelback that is roughly the same size, but weighs 1lb without the water system (which I remove when traveling. It has a ton of organization built in and is very high quality. I know it has no 100 year warranty, but it may be my better choice on trips until little guy learns to walk!
      That said, I love it! Sometimes moms get pulled into the slouchy yoga pants, messy bun, giant diaper bag world and loose their sense of personal style (no judgement at all, promise, I'm there 90% of the time), so I like the touch of "me" that I get to keep when I carry this beauty as my day out bag!

      Three months in and I still love my bucket backpack, but sadly don't use it. My baby is still too little for this to be a functional diaper bag, mainly because of his bottles and because he doesn't walk yet. Backpacks are great when little ones aren't walking, but this is not an easy bag to slip on while switching a baby from hip to hip lol
      BUT I am keeping it, because I know he will be done with bottles soon and walking before I know it! If we travel it's still a lovely bag!

    I keep my iPhone 6 in a slim case (Casemate) and it fits well in the phone pocket of the bucket backpack. Not sure why your friend's iPhone 5 would have been too snug, unless she had it in a thicker case.

    I finally ordered one of these after watching this video quite a few times over a couple years. Haha I’m hoping this and my simple will end up being my only two bags but we’ll see.

    love your amateurish video style recording.. makes me feel like I'm listen to you first hand.. anyways.. thanks for covering everything.. and i do mean EVERY single question that I have about the bag.. keep uploading new videos and maybe even an updated video on how's the bag aged over a year since the videos a year old already. Would love to see the condition of the bag now since it's leather. I'm gonna assume it looks even better! anyways. thanks again for the wonderful video. take care. God Bless ;)

    This bag is really heavy empty, so I find myself bypassing it and opting for lighter bags. I'm trying to like it, but I will probably sell it.

    thanks for the review again! Suggestion of a solution to keep the bag close is with 2 carabiner to the internal D rings :D

      Oh thank you! I've had the bucket for a while and I always struggle with rushed opening and closing in urgent situations haha. Do your drawstrings flatten after a while and get very slippery?

    • @poping
      @poping 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahh i don't own the bucket bag. I own the simple backpack and the small briefcase actually.
      the carabiner solution i have worked for me.
      Thinking abt the nature of the leather i would think the string wld soften and flatten with repeated use.
      It slippery probly from absorbing the oil from our skin and patina.
      i suggest tying a simple knot would solve your problem >

    Going along with the title of your video, I am looking for the Best Bucket Backpack. The new one they are releasing soon looks smaller and more like a purse. Would you happen to know of any available for sale? Any color

    Great review and comparision! I have a question: how does your friend deal with rain?

    • @ThePerfectLeatherBag
      @ThePerfectLeatherBag  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Saddleback Leather bags do well in rain. the rain adds to the patina. the bags are not treated for water, but the Leather doesn't look bad after being in the rain. great question.

      Thanks for making me feel better about the outside of the bag, but what about its being top open? I always "fear" that it might rain INTO the bag.

    Would you know if a 15" MacBook with a saddleback sleeve would fit in the bucket backpack? Thanks!

    • @ThePerfectLeatherBag
      @ThePerfectLeatherBag  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      the body of the bucket and the body of the Simple seem very similar in dimensions. on Saddleback Leather website they have a size chart for the medium simple showing what electronics fit into the backpack, and the 15" MacBook does fit. they don't have a size chart for the bucket backpack unfortunately. if you really want to make sure, I'd call customer service to confirm. sorry I can't be of any more help. good luck.

    • @ellaneweedon8252
      @ellaneweedon8252 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +BillyOwnsTrevor Yes, it fits. The bucket backpack can't do up all the way with the 15" MPB inside in the sleeve, but if you've ok with it being pretty much flush with the top of the bag, then yes, it fits.

    Is this a unisex bag or a woman bag?

    • @ThePerfectLeatherBag
      @ThePerfectLeatherBag  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's for both men and women. I think the darker colors, black, tobacco and dark brown look more masculine, the chestnut reads more formal. But it's also a personal preference. The backpack straps aren't very long, so it would depend on your frame too.
