Maybe it works because I have a Radeon GPU but idk. Check if there is an Apple TV web app. Sleep is disabled as it usually crashes the system. I just tell it to turn off the monitor. Headphone jack has never been set up because it's always a pain point for hackintoshes so I just didn't bother. I use audio from either my HDMI monitor or a USB sound card (which is just a cheap USB microphone with a monitoring jack) VMs do not work at all as they all use Apple's virtualization which doesn't work under Ryzen CPUs. However, SheepShaver works (classic Mac OS emulator). Also some apps that require an Intel specific instruction don't work. Some Adobe apps have this, but they can be easily patched. Discord also has this problem but you can use the web app which is the same. AMD laptop hackintoshes are still a bit weird so I don't encourage them, but desktops are fine. Honestly, all of this doesn't bother me.
Cool video. How do you find the performance? I am running Ubuntu on my T480 because Windows is just too slow on it. Do you find MacOS fast on your Thinkpad?
It's not as fast as on Windows/Linux but it's still good enough. General use is pretty good, even with a VM running. I'm even able to edit 1080p video in Final Cut pretty well.

As a Mac user, I strongly disagree with your opinion. First, I assume you might be using an older Intel-based MacBook. While Intel CPUs are built for performance, they are not optimized for staying cool during intensive tasks like video editing or high-end workflows. On the other hand, Apple’s M-series chips are specifically designed for such tasks. You can throw anything at them, and they won’t disappoint-they remain cool, even under heavy load. The M2 chips, though relatively new, are blazing fast, offering an impressive balance of performance and efficiency.
This is not worth the trouble. Don't do this unless you know what you're doing to your system. Also not all features will be fully supported such as iMessage unless you tinker with the installation.
Actually, iMessage was the easiest thing to get working for this. AirDrop is the only thing that isn't working for me *yet*. Hackintoshing on laptops is the easiest way to do it because there is already people who published their EFI configuration, and you just need to tweak it a bit to make it work. Also, "Don't do this unless you know what you're doing to your system" this is exactly why you should at least try it out once. It makes for a (sometimes frustrating) learning experience with a satisfying result. I get that not everyone likes doing this, but if you like messing with your computer, it's something worth trying. And if you're a Mac user, knowing how to do this is useful if your real Mac ever dies, so you can use a 50$ laptop as an emergency MacBook.
@@ArnauDisrepair Not everyone has the time to keep “tweaking a bit” every time they want to update the system. Second off, hackintoshing will soon be dead as Apple has started to transition away from intel chips in favor for their arm processors. I don’t get why you’d waste time just for “extra ports” when you could just get a type C hub with all of the ports you’d ever need. Second, even the base model arm based 14 inch MacBook Pro is plenty powerful.
- I've already said that this is only viable for tinkerers. If all you want is a Mac, just buy a Mac. If you don't like it, then don't buy it. If you want macOS but don't want a Mac, either give up, or try Hackintoshing. If you can't/don't to do that, then just don't. - I know about the x86 to ARM transition. I've talked about it in the video. Regardless of if macOS supports your computer or not, it doesn't magically stop working. It will still take years for app developers to stop supporting the last macOS version, and even then, you'll still be able to use common day-to-day apps like Chrome or Spotify. Or just switch to another OS, like you can do on an Intel Mac. - Ports. If you want to use Bluetooth for everything, store everything in the cloud and use AirDrop, then go for it. I dislike using "smart" stuff like that, because it always stops working. I use several hard drives (I have A LOT of storage. iCloud can't handle all of it and it's also expensive) and I use a wired keyboard, wired mouse, wired headphones and a wired monitor. They don't have batteries, they don't have latency, they work with every device I have and they don't have connection issues (I own a Magic Mouse and it has given me problems, also I don't have Wi-Fi right now) . I also plug my computer to my TV (which doesn't support AirPlay) and I use SD cards for my smartphone and my 3DS. I NEED ports. Thunderbolt ports might be super fast, but they don't connect with anything without a dongle. "Just get a dongle" I already have. I actually use a USB hub in my desk for extra ports. It's about not needing to reach for it. I use my laptop in a lot of places, some of which I don't typically use a dongle (bed, couch, my lap, etc) but sometimes I do need to plug something in. I can't be dragging around a dongle everywhere I go just in case I need it, so it's a major inconvenience when I forget to pack it. - Not everything is about performance. People today still buy 10-12 year old "obsolete" laptops because they're still useful for what they do. If you're a writer, you can still use an 80's original Macintosh and a matching printer. My laptop that is "not as good as a base model MacBook Pro" is still plenty fast for what I do. I'm able to use a 3DS emulator while streaming, and I can edit 4K footage. Believe me, I'm good. Most people that buy MacBooks don't even need the performance of the newer ones.

@@tomaszargentynczyk8635 I admit the title is not entirely true for some, but you also can't say that a MacBook Pro "destroys this thinkpad in every possible way". If you care about performance or battery, then sure the MacBook is better. In any other aspect, the ThinkPad is better. I had a MacBook Pro 2020, exact design as the current 13" model, without the performance and battery. It sucked. I now have basically the same laptop but with every other aspect being best in class (except display, admittedly).
@@tomaszargentynczyk8635 A huge chunk of my usage (and a lot of other people's) doesn't even require a fast computer. If all that's good in a current MacBook is that it's fast, then the MacBook is completely irrelevant to me.

These video cuts are extremely distracting.
maybe youre watching too hard
soon apple will leave the support for x86 and all these machines will be useless.
What watch are you wearing ?

Any MacBook With Apple Silicon will be still much better than this thinkpad.
Not everything is about performance
@@ArnauDisrepair yes, thats correct. What is not is the title of the video saying that "the best MacBook is not made by Apple". Its simply not true. MacBook Pro destroys this thinkpad in every possible way. Period.
@@ArnauDisrepair really? Only performance on battery is better, nothing else? You know thats simply BS. Any Apple Silicon MacBook is better in majority of things: performance overall, battery life, touchpad, screen, support and especially macOS compatibility.
You did a clickbait in video title and it should be changed, in my opinion.
