    Thanks for your honest review Laurence. I'm still waiting for my SC2 Pro and the new version of the Ascher Racing F28-SC. Unfortunately, Martin Ascher cannot deliver yet.
    I don't think it's too expensive. My goal is not to change the hardware every year. Many buy a new iPhone for about the same money every year. Quality has its price.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa

      Buying a DD is cheaper in the long run. I got my SC2 Pro a month ago and it's replacing my Accuforce, which i was using for 5 years. The AF is still a good wheel and works the same than on day one. It actually got quite better with the Sim Commander updates.

    Thank you for this nice review.
    For tighter budget the SC2 sport version is a nice alternative, you loose a little bit of power but it is more accessible. For the quick release I have the M10 and the SC2 and I would say both have no flex and this is the essential ! The "high torque automatic disabling" function is essential when you have younger kids (computer started without surveillance).

    • @LaurenceDusoswa

      @LaurenceDusoswa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah? Not happy with the fanatec one? Fanatec needs to handle all the communication too I guess so the simucube one can be simple as it doesn’t need to care about all that.

      i just got the sc since my dd had problems. the first thing i nothice is the QR. selling the clubsport quick release on a podium production. lets face it. the fanatec qr is just not good the simucube is really good 😳

      @OhItsThat 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brodeur212 I understand what Fanatec was trying to achieve but I think it was a huge mistake. I’m tired of all the flex in my steering wheels and the struggle of swapping out wheels.
      I’m not a fan of having a greasy shaft either so I guess I’ll have to continue fighting to swap my wheels.
      I do plan to get a SC2 Pro this coming year. That’ll be my final Fanatec product.

    After throwing M10 around holding it only by its wheel we get SC2 review as well! You're the first one who complained about flimsy antenna XD. Quality review!
    Do you have any comparison with M10? Didn't check livestreams yet as I don't have much time at the moment.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. The SC2 pro is a different league and a different technology. However, new DD users will not notice a massive difference but experienced users will realise that the sc2 pro is smoother, more responsive just a bit more refined.
      That’s not to say the m10 isn’t amazing. It’s a great performing and exceptional value piece of equipment and the only reason to go for the m10 over the sc2 pro is budget. It’s like comparing a 3 series bmw to a 5 series...

About the quick release I also own a simucube 2 pro and i have switch to a d1 spec quick release system by a simcore qr adapter and it works really well, and just like you said in the video hope there will be more “entry level” wheel for the simucube owner, because i feel like fanatec still has advantage on the wheel’s price.

    As someone who's had their BT antenna come loose on the SC2, I can confirm that yes, it does unfortunately need to be that big. Connection quality goes from 90-100% with the massive antenna to less than 40% and some missed shifts when the antenna is loose.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa

      @LaurenceDusoswa  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it’s an amazing piece of hardware if you have the money. But only if you have the money. If you were to do a blind test now vs cheaper wheels, as a non DD user you may not see the difference between them all.

    U would think that they'd put a better quick release on there after dropping all that coin. That n the antenna seem to b the most disappointing parts. But the rest seams rock solid. Great review as always LD!

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Apparently the quick release is like that because they want it as simple, solid and reliable as possible. So it kinda makes sense. Yeah the antenna connection just seems a bit out of place.
      Thanks for the comment buddy!

    • @teknastyk
      @teknastyk 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      well.. if you look at fanatecs package for ex. dd1 with a formula wheel, youll see another pretty qr. but then you have to deal with bent pins and software upgrades and such.. and is also 200€ more where i live so..
      Personaly, id like to live the day where all these manufacturers of stupid-expensive-equipment get over themselves and start to use some sort of open-quick-release. But for now SC ones and simagic seem to do the trick. It costs more at begining but on the long run i think it gets cheaper.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa

  • @Salutifer0us
    @Salutifer0us 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    This truly seems like the top end hardware in simracing journey. The costs you have to face before even using it also pile up, so this is something that will remain only for simracers with fat wallet.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha yeah it’s definitely not for the front hearted. Some people sacrifice their yearly holiday just to pay for something like this. Of course, yearly holidays are also only for those with the disposable income. It’s amazing hardware but it doesn’t make you have more fun in races. It is more immersive though for sure.

    Hi! I know this is such a long time ago, but was wondering what your thoughts were between this and the simplicity sw20. I currently own the simplicity, but am thinking about an upgrade to the simucube.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      With the simucube you’ll get great software and a proven product. However, have a look at asetek if you really want to upgrade. If you go from sw20 to sc2 pro, it’s not a giant leap. In a blind test you wouldn’t know the difference. The reason I say asetek is because of the rim selection and third party Qr usb support.

  • @RelaXa
    @RelaXa 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Laurence, I saw you also have the Simagic M10. I‘m at the point to go to a DD Wheel. Which route should I go? M10 or SC pro - what is your experience and where is the biggest drawback of the SC or the Simagic? I know the answer take some time but I really whould appreciate it couse this is a big step for me and a huge invested for the next years. Thank you in advanced!

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The golden rule is to buy the one you can afford. The rims and quick release on Simagic products are far better than simucube right now. The force feedback IS better with the SC2 products but you also end up paying twice the price for simucube compared to m10. If it’s your first DD, I recommend the Simagic. If you want to upgrade at any point, you will be able to sell your m10 easily on the second hand market. In a blind force feedback test, it would be difficult for anyone who hasn’t tried DD before to see the difference between the m10 and the SC2 wheels.

    • @RelaXa
      @RelaXa 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LaurenceDusoswa Thank you for the quick response. I saved some money so I can afford the Simucube. But it's like you said - it is double or more then the simagic. I mostly play ACC and some AC - how does this title perform with the SC2 - are the important information like "when is the car in the limit" better noticable with the SC2, then it could save the race.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All are really good. Ultimately you’ll get more force feedback detail with the simucube. However, if you want a happy middle ground, the Simagic alpha is due to be released before the end of the year and that’s a lot more like the sc2 tech. I use the Simagic alpha right now and I love it. It’s going to be €1650 for the complete package.
