Hey, I've been really considering buying my first OLED ultrawide, but my main concern is definitely burn-in. Seeing your comment made me feel quite relieved as you've used your monitor for 3,000 hours and haven't run into any burn-in troubles. May I ask what precautions you take to prevent burn-in? Things like a screensaver after x minutes of idle, certain wallpapers, etc.? Clearly what you're doing is working so I definitely want to follow the same precautions if I end up buying one for myself. Thanks!
3000 hours sound like a lot, but ultimately, depending on average numbers of hours of screentime per week, this may be as little as around 1 year of use. Even though I am looking forward to a 5k2k newer gen version of this screen. Burn in does remain a concern to me. My current primary display has about 15k hours of screentime, roughly 6 years old. My secondary displays, up to over 30k hours, up to roughly 15 years old. Generally speaking, monitors are extremely durable and allow for repurposing quite well. Whether or not OLED will maintain this same sort of durability, remains to be seen.
Picked this monitor up about a month ago when i saw it on sale at $1299 US. Just Wow!!! Coming from a LG 34" ultrawide, several years old. I did adjust my behavior when it comes to leaving it on. I manually put windows into sleep or turn-off the monitor completely, not taking any chances for burn-in. No issues with the dpi for my day-to-day work stuff. My eyesight isn't all that great so it's not an issue for me.
I would own one if it was 3840x1600. I know it doesn't seem like much higher, but that difference in clarity would make it's use in reading smaller gauges in MSFS2020 significant.
Completely understandable, I can definitely see what you mean regarding intricate details like those in MSFS. I think it would either have to be a resolution bump (as you mentioned) or dropping the monitor size down to something like 38", but of course the size is part of the appeal.
If you want one today, I bought a Samsung S90C 55 inch TV. It allows for a 21x9 aspect in game mode which you use for PC. I change my resolution on Nvidia to 3840x1600 with 144hrtz refresh. The refresh is fine because even my 4090 has trouble pushing AAA games over 144 FPS at that resolution at high settings. This gives me about a 48 to 50 inch widescreen display with black bars on top and bottom, but since it is oled the black bars are completely black and disappear. The TV has VRR for AMD and Nvidia, and of course all the other TV bells and whistles. The challenge is that it has ABL which dims a screen over time, but that only affects you when browsing typically a move of the screen immediately brings to full brightness. Its no problem when gaming. And if you console game it looks fantastic with 2.1 HDMI ports. This TV has the new Samsung panel and is brighter than the LG monitor. In fact, I've found TVs used as monitors seem to get more bright than monitors. I assume that's because monitors are scared of RMA due to potential screen burn in.
That’s a pretty big monitor 240hz sounds pretty amazing ngl , I bet the games graphic with that monitor will look amazing great vid scorp keep up the good work

This is a nice monitor but here’s the issue for me. I have an LG 38 inch 3860x1600 ultrawide that is the sweet spot with a very good curve. It will be really hard to upgrade to this just for a bigger size and a crazier curve.
I had that returned it in the micro center return. And got a 42-in LG OLED C2. The only way I could ever go back is if that alien were 38 was qdoled and frankly, I really hope they make that because that would be probably the best monitor you could have
@@ToGrimmToWin I really LOVE my 38 ultrawide. I will use it until I can’t use it anymore. I would love for either LG or Alienware to make a micro led because I mainly use it for work. I would be fine with oled also but I’m still sketchy on burn in especially using it with static images.

Got this last week on BF sale for $999 which is a great deal. Primary use-case is iRacing. The curvature works really well with cockpit camera view as my eye point from racing seat to the monitor is 840mm which is near the center of the monitor radius. Really pleased with the immersion.
Why choose this over LG C3? It's 4K and anything above 120hz is barely noticable. Curvature is nice, but LG C3 seem to be much better. Especially considering its huge 45 inch display. 2K doesnt cut it.

For me this works well on balance without having to upgrade GPU and more to properly handle a 32:9 49” or larger.
Wow games look amazing on this monitor! I'm tempted to switch my dual monitor setup for a curved one, this just looks so aesthetically pleasing as well :D
In the USA, I just checked their website, and it's showing up for $1200. The only concern I have is burn in, but specifically because viewing 16X9 content over time, and would it produce noticeable burn in, compared to the black borders.

Hello! Thank you for your review. Quick question - is that the BenQ Screenbar Halo you are using? How did you get it to stay on the LG 45? I heard it is not supported due to the 800R curve.
I had this monitor for a month and returned it. The size and curve were perfect, and the low ppi was a non issue for me, I didn’t even notice it. What killed it for me was the matte finish. It’s near criminal that they decided to ruin this, nearly perfect, monitor with that ugly matte finish. I thought I could get used to it but I couldn’t. Returned it for the G9 OLED 49” and have never looked back.
they think it takes away from the visuals. i have an oled glossy tv and i can see why they say that since it just looks more aesthetically pleasing even when its off but i also own a matte ultra wide display for my gaming setup and i think its still stunning, it is no dealbreaker by any means@@JOSERS999
I just bought one on best buy, after going through the membership program 1000 + 50! , totally worth it at that price. Colors set on vivid, use dark theme to avoid the white rebalancing - the text is not great and the white rebalancing when using lots of white space is annoying, and so yes I have a second monitor for heavy text work if that is your job, in my case I use much smaller IPS wide screen right below it, a bit of work in setting up. But otherwise awesome if you want gaming / movies in amazing color and immersion !

Awesome monitor,Pixel density is kind of low but you don’t see it while gaming only using it for productivity.I bought mine for $1299 on sale at Best Buy.
Yeah, I honestly love it. Agreed regarding the pixel density, after I got used to it I found that the benefits of the monitor far outweighed the negatives. But I can also understand that it would be a deal breaker for some people.
@@ScorpioTech I bought it solely for gaming,I’m actually going to buy one more to put on my sim racing rig.Nothing in your peripheral vision except screen.
I just picked up his monitor... unfortunately 3rd one in last 3 days as the other 2 were faulty in the 1st 24 hrs. It's an absolute beaut on my I9, 4070Ti!! I got it at Best Buy for $1k since I'm a Total tech member!! I love this monitor
First monitor had a line going through the middle of it. Second monitor worked for about 8 hrs and then just flickered on and off. 3rd monitor worked 2 nights ago. Hopefully it will work tonight when I try again! Fingers crossed
@@Thedon-xs7ix it’s definitely going to come down to personal preference and money. The G9 has a higher res and bigger screen. I saw both in person and I like the larger curve on the LG. Didn’t really need a 45”, but for the price I couldn’t decline.
Completely understand, I also suggested in the video that 38" would have helped massively with the pixel density issues that you're going to get with a 45" 3440x1440p.
I want to like this monitor, I really do. However the curve to me is way to aggressive. The Xeneon Flex allows me to create the curve I want, just waiting for it to go back on sale.
How did you set up that back light on the monitor?? Its so good I want to do it too! I guess its with that armorycore or what its called thing but how do you connect it?? Plz do tutorial ❤
I ordered mine recently, still waiting for it. Have many doubts as reviews are sometimes confusing, but when you say it’s amazing if the primary focus is gaming, then I am sure i’ll like it. My pc at home is for games and entertainment, i have a work pc so I don’t plan on doing anything else than movies or games on this pc
Can't testify for DCS, but even with my 3080 MSFS is absolutely gorgeous on this monitor. The aspect ratio is perfect for flying, one hell of an experience.
Best monitor ever hands down! I absolutely love it . 240 hz is butter smooth .. I play cyberpunk 2077 looks jaw dropping . I even play competitive and no lie it does the job
Last two LG screens I bought (4ktv & 1440p gaming monitor) both have issues. 4ktv has a line down the middle of screen after only 6months & the 1440p monitor has stuck pixels. Don’t think I’ll risk buying another LG product again
I agree, obviously at first thought it sounds very expensive, but after a while of using it I can honestly say I love it. For it's primary purpose of gaming, it provides an epic experience.
Hey there can you advise? I need a monitor for home working (I'm not a gamer). The 45GR95QE's screen height is perfect at 454.66mm but I need something slightly wider than 993.14mm ideally around 1200mm like the Samsung G9. Problem with the G9 is the height is only 365mm which isn't suitable. Is there such a curved monitor out there? The Odyssey Arc 55' is too expensive. Thanks.
i really wish there were more 45" ultrawides. the standard issue 34" is lacking in height imho. this monitor with 144Hz for 800€ would be an instant buy for me
And one more thing I really want the IKEA godishus but my dad doesn’t really want me to get it and also how did you it says that you’re supposed to drill it to the wall but my dad says there needs to be like a balance, so how did you do it? Did you put some thing on the back of it?
Just got this monitor, but cant get the back LED lights on. I downloaded the LG UltraGear control center, but it isnt recognizing the monitor and just tells me "Please connect supported monitor"
This is an excellent monitor, upgraded to it from a single 27" 1440P with dual 24" 1080s to this monster. Super happy with it. your 3080 will run this with ease, but the only downfall on you system is that ancient 9900k, it just doesnt have the HP to really push that 3080 to its limits. Not everyone needs to upgrade, and it may just work for your requirements. but if you got a 5000 series AMD or if you are just prefer to stay on intel, the 12900k would unleash that 3080 to max out 240fps in majority of games. good review overall
Probably a bit the way it's set up in this video, I could definitely improve that but space is an issue. They still sound great though, and most of the time I use headphones haha
@@ScorpioTech Actually I have the same space issue where I can only place speakers behind monitor. I am using small speaker rn and looking to upgrade to bigger speakers, but worried about how the space limitation affects the sound quality.
@@imhappy2777 if I'm completely honest, I don't notice any difference like this - but I'm no audiophile. It works for me and I'm satisfied with it considering the limitations I have, it's great for movies, games and music
Why do most reviewers of this particular LG Monitor say its not very good for productivity? Example: I game some, watch videos, but I am fully remote employee working 8hrs a day in front of the monitor as a production role. I would say 70% of my time is working/production reviewing spreadsheets and word.docs. Is this a bad monitor for my working environment? Thoughts?
Literally JUST picked up this monitor a little nervous with people talking a lot about the pixel density. + worried about mounting it with my other two monitors.. But we'll see! What are some good mounts for this monitor + two others if you have a good recommendation?
It wasn't but I did exchange it for the normal size of this monitor since it didn't work out for the content I was making, Pixel density is fine.@@MegaVinny73
Hi guys! Pixel density was not an issue at all. However I did return it for the non ultra wide version. Broke my heart but it wasn’t ideal for streaming and editing. Amazing for gaming though. Never felt so immersed. Totally recommend this monitor if you’re only gaming on it.
I game/watch videos about 50% of the time and the other browsing the web/researching. From what I gather, this isn't the monitor for me then. I currently have a Dell 34" Ultrawide gaming monitor and it's been great. But this looks incredible for gaming. Maybe the pixel density/fuzziness around the text will be an issue?
Thank you mate! Yeah it's a beautiful screen. I honestly really love the curve, but you definitely have to sit perfectly central to get the best experience.
Hey Scorps, nice review again. If you are a real gamer I would really go for a very wide monitor would be this LG UltraGear. But I personally am more into tasks and school stuff so I like 2 monitors more. But gaming on this monitor is magnificent!! ❤❤
2 monitors definitely has its benefits for multitasking, and it did take me quite some time to adjust to that. But thanks to the Picture in Picture mode you can also essentially use this as 2 monitors which is very cool! But yeah, this is mainly built for gamers and it does an epic job! Hot damn that Cyberpunk play at 3:48 looks good even on my phone. I can't wait for my new monitor to arrive, 😅
How did you set up that back light on the monitor?? Its so good I want to do it too! I guess its with that armorycore or what its called thing but how do you connect it?? Plz do tutorial ❤
Hey Man, I wonder does out of the box colors on this screen is good enough to use or you have to calibrate or change any image settings?
I ordered mine recently, still waiting for it. Have many doubts as reviews are sometimes confusing, but when you say it’s amazing if the primary focus is gaming, then I am sure i’ll like it. My pc at home is for games and entertainment, i have a work pc so I don’t plan on doing anything else than movies or games on this pc
Do you have any tips for me i tried to conect my ps4 and the sound isn’t coming through the monitor
How does it look on MSFS and DCS flight sim with a 4090 graphic card?
Can't testify for DCS, but even with my 3080 MSFS is absolutely gorgeous on this monitor. The aspect ratio is perfect for flying, one hell of an experience.
Amazing colors!
How would this be working with 2015 games for instance ?
And what decent VGA is recommended ?
Thx !
Best monitor ever hands down! I absolutely love it . 240 hz is butter smooth .. I play cyberpunk 2077 looks jaw dropping . I even play competitive and no lie it does the job
what do you mean it does the job? oled + 240 hz is probably the best you can use for competitive at the moment?
@@wanshurst2416 i was referring to people complaining about the size of the screen ...
And how did you manage to get more than 240fps in this game?
Like it, it's essentially LG Dual ups with extra horizontal area. I actually wish for for 3LG dualups size by side with a single panel but not OLED.
Nice monitor love your content❤
It's fantastic! Thank you so much for the kind comment!
Last two LG screens I bought (4ktv & 1440p gaming monitor) both have issues. 4ktv has a line down the middle of screen after only 6months & the 1440p monitor has stuck pixels. Don’t think I’ll risk buying another LG product again
I may couldn’t follow or hear, but what is about console gaming? Would you also recommend it for PS5? Thank you
Is my 60hz not 240 bcuz I’m using a MacBook bro with it??
Does this have a matte finish on the screen - doesn't that reduce OLED impact?
Bought mine yesterday for below 1100 Euros directly from LG ... That's a (somewhat) reasonable price for what you get
I agree, obviously at first thought it sounds very expensive, but after a while of using it I can honestly say I love it. For it's primary purpose of gaming, it provides an epic experience.
Also do you have any recommendations for speakers too?
Why does your wall light up based on the monitor display? What product ??
The moment dude said it has no speakers I just paused the video and laughed sometimes people don't want to but on the big gaming headsets.
hi! What ambilight system are you using? Does it limit your FPS? thanx!
Nice video brudda!!! Not everyone has the money for 4k gaming!!!
Which back LED system do you use at the back of your screen that adapts to the content of your screen?
Hey there can you advise? I need a monitor for home working (I'm not a gamer). The 45GR95QE's screen height is perfect at 454.66mm but I need something slightly wider than 993.14mm ideally around 1200mm like the Samsung G9. Problem with the G9 is the height is only 365mm which isn't suitable. Is there such a curved monitor out there? The Odyssey Arc 55' is too expensive. Thanks.
do you stream with this. are you splitting apps to do so ?
i really wish there were more 45" ultrawides. the standard issue 34" is lacking in height imho. this monitor with 144Hz for 800€ would be an instant buy for me
And one more thing I really want the IKEA godishus but my dad doesn’t really want me to get it and also how did you it says that you’re supposed to drill it to the wall but my dad says there needs to be like a balance, so how did you do it? Did you put some thing on the back of it?
do you have flickers with gsync compatible ??
Same
Just got this monitor, but cant get the back LED lights on. I downloaded the LG UltraGear control center, but it isnt recognizing the monitor and just tells me "Please connect supported monitor"
Hello friend. Please tell me your settings for example MW3 how to get the best picture. Do you play with HDR?
I'd love to know what settings you were using!
Is the lighting behind your monitor thats matchint the screen from the monitor stand or a seperate led strip?
Hello. I got it today. The monitor is great, but the sound does not work through the monitor. Some idea?
I just snatched one up for 900 bucks open box exceptional condition. Not regretting it at all
Do you have any tips for me i tried to conect my ps4 and the sound isn’t coming through the monitor
Not everyone needs to upgrade, and it may just work for your requirements.
but if you got a 5000 series AMD or if you are just prefer to stay on intel, the 12900k would unleash that 3080 to max out 240fps in majority of games.
good review overall
what light have you put on top of the monitor???? I really wanna buy that light!
Soooo how are you getting such amazing led light behind the monitor ???
Does the monitor affect the speakers quality tho? I see they are blocked by the monitor.
@@ScorpioTech Good to hear that, enjoy!
Got myself the 39' Version, to atleast get a little better PPI. absolutely great monitor for sure
Hey awesome video! Could you link the wallpaper by chance? It looks amazing!
Thank you so much! Hopefully you mean this one! Wallpaper engine: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2495306543

Yup, thanks a lot!
Aye bro I just got this for my birthday for my studio im a titans TH-camr. It’s showing 60hz how do I make it to 240
What is that arrow desktop theme, great
Is the reeactive light from the back of the monitor from from philips hue?
What are the reactive lights behind the monitor and where do i get them? :O
Thoughts?
Does the graphics card make a difference?
good color monitor ?
which light bar do you recommend?
What do you use to reflect the colors of the monitor image?
Literally JUST picked up this monitor a little nervous with people talking a lot about the pixel density. + worried about mounting it with my other two monitors.. But we'll see! What are some good mounts for this monitor + two others if you have a good recommendation?
How'd it workout? Pixel density an issue?
It wasn't but I did exchange it for the normal size of this monitor since it didn't work out for the content I was making, Pixel density is fine.@@MegaVinny73
yeah give us update
Hi guys! Pixel density was not an issue at all. However I did return it for the non ultra wide version. Broke my heart but it wasn’t ideal for streaming and editing. Amazing for gaming though. Never felt so immersed. Totally recommend this monitor if you’re only gaming on it.
@xrainypaws yeah it sucks that most of viewers have 16:9 displays :/
I game/watch videos about 50% of the time and the other browsing the web/researching. From what I gather, this isn't the monitor for me then. I currently have a Dell 34" Ultrawide gaming monitor and it's been great. But this looks incredible for gaming. Maybe the pixel density/fuzziness around the text will be an issue?
j'aime la video pouvez vous me donnez le liens ou le nom du personnage que vous a mis sur votre bureau
Should i stick with the oled g9 or change to this one lol they are both amazing!
Hello, I really love your wallpaper, could you please tell me where I can get it? I have the same monitor
what do you use for the ambient light behind the monitor ?
The picture quality is great however i dont think im a guy for curved screens yet 😂 amazing review ben ❤
Thank you mate! Yeah it's a beautiful screen. I honestly really love the curve, but you definitely have to sit perfectly central to get the best experience.
Trust me its like magic when you sit in front of it. it just disappear.
I have the GQ900B 48" 16:9 and its amazing...I bet this is just as gorgeous!
what are the best settings for pc gaming with this monitor? I just got mine.
What about vrr flicker? I have the 39inch model and i have a little bit of screen flicker
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
I need 4k 240hz can’t pay that price for 1440p monitor and no speakers nah I’ll sit this one out. Currently using 48 inch LG C2 TV with I9 1300k 4090. I want a 240hz monitor but close as 4k as possible.
