I am a graduate of Pediatric Residency training in the Philippines. I recently finished my 3 year residency training this May 2022. I’m already here in the UK since my husband is a nurse here. If I want to have subspecialty training in neuro, which pathway should I choose? Can I enter pediatrics training if I finished the 3 theory MRCPCH exams or MRCPCH clinical is needed?

I have the same doubt asked by Dr Zeeshan Ahmed. I have completed the mrcpch theories not clinical(clinical slots are very hard to get). With the mrcpch theory exams(NOT any plab), will I be able to apply at ST3 level or even ST1 level and start my carrier there sooner? Do I need plab? Kindly let me know if theories exam will suffice to enter the UK paediatrics training and the clinical part can be completed later on after entering the system. Thanks

No unfortunately you need to be registered with GMC before joining training. This you can achieve with either plab or mrcpch.

Thanks a lot. Just wanted to ask. My MRCP 1 result will be out by 16 Jun 2022 following which I plan to sit MRCP 2 in Sept 2022. The PACES application will be open from 13 Jun 2022 onwards for the November 2022 paces. Can I book PACES slot on 13 Jun or I'll have to wait for Part 1 result?
Can I book PACES without MRCP part 2?
Will I get refund if I don't paas in Part 2 in Sept 2022?

Hello! Can I just clarify what you said? Did I understand you right? I am a graduate of Pediatric training abroad. Completed residency training for 3 years. I’m planning to take up MRCPCH theory exams next year, if I pass all of it, you mean I cannot take the MRCPCH Clinical because I am not on Pediatric training now? Because basically, I’m done with the Residency training already. I just want to enter the Pediatric training here in the UK using MRCPCH Pathway. I hope to get a reply please. Thank you

(I don't know the name in uk, here in Paraguay is "docencia en educación superior" it takes a year to have it.
