Do you think Emma's line of "Opening the trapdoor and dying a painful death" is a reference to Until Dawn? I remember that being one of the stupider ways you could get a character killed in the mines (Ashley? I think) Made famous by Markiplier's complete breakdown after doing it.

I agree. I love gab and her channel but i was waiting to see her reaction to that joke cuz when i played this and he said that i cracked up so hard. But she missed it cuz she was talking. I'm not complaining or being mean but i just really wish she Would've heard the joke. It's one of my fav scenes in the game. I've been watching her god of war 2018 playthrough from 4 yrs ago and she talked almost the whole time. I'm on episode 3 the only reason I'm ok with her talking during that is cuz i own the game and have played it several times so it's not like I'll miss anything. I know she streams these live but atleast for your subs try not to talk during cut scenes in story type games especially if some people haven't seen or played the game. I was hesitant on saying anything cuz i don't want anyone thinking I'm being mean to gab cuz I'm not. And i get it i love to talk too but if i did what she does for a living I'd atleast try to not talk during the scenes in the game where they are talking. Other than that i love her playthroughs. Her and sean are the ones that got me into bloodborne so yeah. I really enjoy her content other than that.

Just a little tid bit of information as a medic, if you are in a situation with an amputated limb, DO NOT cauterize the wound. The chance of infraction goes up drastically and causes unnecessary pain. Use a tourniquet or a makeshift tourniquet to stop the bleeding. Don't remove it at any point. Then just cover the wound with something clean and put the amputated limb in a bag of ice.
@@cadbck it really depends on how it was amputated, how much time passes between amputation and hospital, and if the hospital is equipped to attempt it. Entirely possible though and lots of people are able to fully rehabilitate their limbs
Apparently you should also put the amputated part in a ziplock bag or something IN the ice so it doesn’t soak up water, expand, and then be impossible to reattach as a result. I assume that would vary in necessity depending on how long it’s in the ice but I did learn it in first aid so I swear I didn’t pull it out of my arse completely
@@cadbck my sister's pinky finger got cut off completely while she was doing some Ikea wood work but we put her pinky in ice in a covered up bowl and took her to the hospital and they where able to attach her pinky back successfully but it doesn't move very much. I don't think you can do the same with an entire arm.
Kaitlyn's character is really well written. Like she immediately notices that Abbie is anxious so gives her a related task to distract her, plus she's super rational ("take photos for evidence") I really like her
These chapters are where I finally started to enjoy Dylan and Ryan, like individually. I also love that their relationship isn’t forced. It’s a nice comfy pace and not rushed at all.
It's so dumb but I LOVE the 'herd of bears...' 'yes I've heard of bears' joke. It's just so perfectly Dylan from what we've seen haha he's quickly becoming my favourite character, at least in terms of humour haha

I feel like "Bear? Why does everyone blame everything on bears?" is an underrated line in this game :'D Also if your theory is correct and the dude (forgot his name, sorry) is a werewolf and needed to lock himself up WHY didn't he let the kids take the car, tell them how to get to the next motel and lock himself at the cabin? The decaffeination really surprised me :D Is shooting him right before the only way to prevent it? Also I can't wait for the ALL THE DEATHS playthrough where noone catches anything and everyone will stumble through the woods. It's always hilarious to watch :'D And little mishaps happen, don't get frustrated ♥

If you shoot Nick before he turns then abi drops the gun and he explodes into a werewolf much faster and since he is now hurt he jumps out the window. Shooting him wouldn't have killed him because you need silver bullets.

i had a theory of why the game has streamer mode... and its related to people taking a dip (uncensored) and the girl transforming back to human and still has her underwear. I assume streamer mode covers nudity? like why would all the clothes be shredded except the underwear(when morbin)? do you know what i mean? now that you mentioned the phone. it throws that theory out the window 😅
She's definitely the character who's survival I care about the least. The amputee at least dropped his mask for the guy he liked, Emma just loves playing games and being a dick to everyone except Ariel Winter. Wait nevermind, I forgot she chose to kiss the guy she liked out of nowhere in spite of how well they got along.

As for the kiss, she messed up but she wanted Abi and Nick to finally make a move before the end of summer. And if we go this way, Dylan didn't move a muscle at the firepit when Abi screamt for help, whereas Kaitlyn and Ryan ran for it. Abi left Nick in the woods, just saying... Jacob broke the van...
I love how gab knows a lot about werewolf lore and was hitting the right predictions for the game. So proud she also remembers the characters' names compare to baby gab in until dawn who struggles with names.
I'm watching both Seán's and Evelien's playthrough and it's so funny and cute to see how many similar reactions they have to the events in the game! Can't wait to see how their gameplays turn out in the end.
I'm still wondering why on Seans he was able to use a life to save ******* (in case of spoilers for some people) but Gab didn't get that chance with Abi? I think because it wasn't based on an actual left or right choice, but I am loving their playthroughs as well!
@@taylord5231 She purposefully turned that feature off for her first playthrough because she said in the first video she wanted an authentic first run at the game! I don't think Sean knew the feature existed until a death happened.
If basically all the adults know the forest is infested with monsters, why is the camp still open for business at all? The liability exposure alone is insane. Also, after retrieving the engine arm, why wasn't the car ever fixed? Also, after first seeing the monsters, why didn't they remember the warning to stay inside until dawn?
After grabbing the rotor arm, Jacob got his other arm caught on the razor wire around the chains holding down the corpse. The hand holding the rotor arm opens as he disentangles himself, so he presumably loses the part again at that point, this time for good. (Basically, the rotor arm is just a breadcrumb to lead Jacob to the evidence in the lake.)
@@forcesinbalance5685 Fair enough. I kinda thought that happened but I wasnt sure. To me, the rotor arm is more than a bread crumb. It's the very reason they are in this predicament. It's loss is a pivotal plot point, the telling of which is garbled at a critical moment. It's looking like Jacob is never going to fess up to stranding them there with his baffling prank. It bugs me that rotor arm plot thread has seemingly disappeared.

I absolutley love watching Gab play this game, but as a trauma therapist, I find the quippiness of most of these characters pretty unrealistic. I can totally appreciate this as horror entertainment; realism isn't the aim for something like this! But, it's interesting to me that the writers depict very real things like shock (Dylan losing his hand and it not hurting) and confessions (Nick trying and failing to tell Abi how he feels for her), but choose not to depict many of the other major trauma responses. Literally no one asked for this, but if you're curious to hear how I might write it differently, read on! :D (Trigger warning if trauma-linked topics like this are too much for you!) Humor as a deflection tool is rarely neurobiolgoically accessible in a situation like this UNLESS you get to a longer-term safe place so your nervous system can relax. The part of your brain that pushes you to survive and the part of your brain that houses your capacity for sarcasm are *completely* different. Humor doesn't come back "online" until you know you're safe. These kids would either be so emotionally numb that there is no/sparce dialogue or so emotionally flooded that they'd be yelling, crying, shaking, spewing information at each other, and otherwise struggling to function as normal (aka, wise-cracking). I'd love to see real responses as a means of furthering a horror narrative. No jokes. Gimme' a scene where Emma breaks down when she sees Jacob (a friend = safety and relief) after bad-ass-escaping the werewolf on the island. Gimme' a scene where they're all huddled under a lodge window, cradling their guns and counting down the hours until morning. Gimme' a scene where all of them feel guilty for being scared of Nick. Gimme' a scene where they're struggling to piece together the night's events in chronological order (also very common; your memory-filing mechanism shuts down during major trauma, hence why PTSD lives on in the present despite the inciting event taking place in the past). OH and IMAGINE how powerful of a scene it would be for all of them to be together in a place of relative safety, quietly holding hands, sharing food, relishing humanizing scraps of contact and trying to get each other to stop shaking. Maybe then there could be heartfelt humor. A whispered campfire song or two. Memories of home or the summer or each other, shared. Senses of unity and light amidst such darkness, restored. My umbrella rule for writing trauma is this: people get serious when they're scared. That doesn't necessarily mean they'll be cold, but I'd bet that if any of these teens tried to crack a joke about another one of them losing a hand or something, the rest of the group would view that as incredibly calloused. It wouldn't fit. Humor could be deflective fodder for less impactful traumas, perhaps, but not this. Not when the trauma/risk for continued unsafety is still actively occurring. Another thing: the most impactful part of trauma isn't always the event. It could be how you handled the event, how another person handled the event, or how any other part of the event played out. For example, if I were treating a soldier who watched their dear friend die in combat (not unlike what these teens are witnessing), it's actually less likely that they would be hyperfixated on the blood, the wound, the mission, etc. Likely, the worst part of that moment for the soldier would be that they "did nothing to stop it" or that they "felt nothing when it happened." Our own survival responses can traumatize us. Sometimes the scariest part of a trauma is just how un-human we feel in doing what is necessary to survive it. Happy viewing, my friends! Remember to care for your nervous system today!
Not a trauma therapist, but someone who suffers from lots of it and I agree. I love Dylan's humor and the way the characters interact with each other, but it bugs me so much that most of the time no one is freaking out about what they're experiencing. Emma especially (at least in the 2 playthroughs I've done so far). She just flies through the game and protects herself, yes, but then seems unaffected by everything after an event happens. In my playthrough, at the end, she's like dancing and humming in the basement and even Abi is like, "Hello? What are you doing? Have you not been paying attention to what's been happening? Why are you so chipper right now?" I like her character, but also strongly dislike it cause it's very unsettling the way she in particular reacts to things.
I think this game suffers a little bit tonally for this exact reason. It wants to be quippy AND gritty/"realistic," but doesn't quite know how to strike the right balance. As someone who suffers from trauma and has been in a lot of emergency situations, I appreciate your perspective! I think a lot of the humor comes after the fact, like I definitely deal with my trauma by making jokes, but I wasn't doing that WHILE the trauma was taking place lol.
I woke up to a wide open front door when I watched my aunt's dogs. Yes I was freaking out because someone could have broke in during the night, but while I was on the phone with my mom I was making sarcastic jokes. All this while I was going room to room *with a knife.* Did the same thing after a couple car crashes, breaking bones, being run over by a wheelchair, and being attacked by a cotton mouth about 10 ft long. Sometimes people just revert to sarcasm when they're scared.
never really been in a like. life threatening traumatic situation, but I get really easily irritable, sarcastic, and quippy when under a lot of stress. like lashing out, i guess, at myself too, so bitter sarcasm, fear, and self-deprecating jokes is probably how id respond in a situation like this.
Love your playthrough. When you go through your next playthrough word of caution if you use the death rewind. It can only be used 3 times and it will rewind you back to what action caused the death so it could either rewind 5 mins or set you 5 hours back haha speaking from experience

@LeviP1aysI think gab turned it off for the first playthrough so she can be honest with her choices the first time, but death rewind will happen basically immediately after a death happens and you can choose to do it or not.
so a choice 5 hrs earlier can lead to an unavoidable death that much later? kinda annoying but a nice feature still since the game is so long and starting ALL the way over to get a save everyone ending would be worse
@@starlittered a bit of a spoiler but: a Jacob death that i saw in another playthrough, rewinding it takes the player back around 30 to 45 mins of playtime just to fix it x'D so yeah OP isn't incorrect lol

The writing for this game is so goofy, but it's almost endearing how cringy it is sometimes. There are a bunch of special endings and I hope you are able to find them.
I'm not finished yet, I'm at the point where they call 911 and wonder if they should ask for the cops and Ryan is like "eh they won't come we don't have a good reason for them to come", my mom always told me that if I ever need the cops to come, I must tell them that "there is A LOT OF BLOOD" so I'm watching and I'm like "eh just tell them there's a lot of blood lol"
Maybe it varies based on area, but every time I've called 911 they ask my location and what the emergency is and the dispatcher is the one who decides whether to send cops, ambulance, or fire rescue. If you're not sure whether you need cops or ambulance or both when calling 911, explain that to the dispatcher and they'll make the decision. That's their job.
@@loupgarou95 yeah in this case they probably aren't going to send the police who aren't exactly trained for woodland operations or animal control and will probably send paramedics and rangers. Probably with police and animal control told to standby as the victims are retrieved and the situation evaluated.

Watched Jack play the first 3 parts of this game. I always like to watch different TH-camrs play it like You, Jack, and John to see the different outcomes. Can't wait to see how your Quarry story turns out!
Yeah, I started with RadBrad. Then Jack started, fine, I watched the same (at that point) 1,5 hours again. and then Evelien uploaded it and at that point it was "(sigh) alright, one more time" 😂

@@singingwolf8997 you get the option to start with extra lives ( you can turn it off like gab did) by buying the deluxe edition. All players get access to it after they complete the first playthrough.
I always prefer blind playthroughs where whatever happens happens. The whole point of choose-your-own-adventure type games is that it turns out different for everyone. If someone gets upset by "wrong" choices, they shouldn't be watching blind playthroughs, they should wait for the perfect-ending-playthroughs. I'm glad the game has some severe consequences this early on, and not just at the very end!
You understandably expected Nick to rush like a werewolf would in other cases we’ve seen…. However I wouldn’t be lying if I didn’t verbally shout to “shoot him!” with the shotgun when the time was almost out. Poor Abi.
Emma really is MVP in this! Kaitlyn's pretty cool but Emma held herself REALLY well onthe two instances she was left on her own! also the creatures seem to be FIRST going after the ones they "love" or care for the most..🤔 poor Abi..thoough we all kinda saw that coming i think 😅 i hope your episodes ran a bit longer! tbh, i wouldn't mind 2 hour-long episodes! :D
@Bleh Kaitlyn’s awesome. Pretty much all of the characters are likable for one reason or another for me except for Emma. The fact she’s so capable is _something_ to root for, I guess, but that’s about it. She’s still toxic.
@Bleh Emma is toxic as hell. No way I'll root for her as a character, even if she became Girlboss Rambo*. I'll root for Kaitlyn though, I agree she needs more screen time. *side note: while I really, really dislike Emma, I think the actress did a great job portraying such a character.

She's not capable, they literally handed her bear spray and a taser right before the encounter, Basically plot armor so she wouldnt die. She most likely would've been dead otherwise. And again at the campfire, given the fireworks so she wouldn't die. They didn't give Abi or Nick anything, they just were like fuck them. Nick was bitten immediately with no chance to do anything, didnt want to kill your friend/love who you may or may not be able to save? Head ripped off. Lol Kaitlyn would've made more sense to highlight, she seems way more capable than all of them, hopefully she gets more time to shine. it's your choices and whatnot that determines what they do and how each person performs, but some characters seem to get the short end of the stick more.

The last few days have been so tough, I'm entering exam week in college and im so stressed, work sucks and im lonely lol.. The one thing I am learning through watching people play this game is how games skewed peoples understanding of shotgun lethality. Games like CoD really make them look like toys that don't work over 10 meters, when at least 30 meters is the lethal distance with the least lethal kind of shell.
you can easily use a shotgun to hunt squirrels. thats how i remember it. if you can kind of get close enough to a squirrel to shoot it, then thats about how far a shotgun can lethally shoot. (at least a fully wild squirrel not one of those fat city campus squirrels.)
Reminds me of the way all the games with guns have a .22 as something that like, stings, at best. I find it hard to believe a piece of metal shooting into or through you is something you can just shrug off even if it isn't huge.
I guess it is because people don't really understand shotgun ammo. Bird shot is basically useless on humans at any real distance since it is made to fill a large area with tiny BBs to damage a Bird's wings just enough to kill them with the fall. Of course some of them can be fairly large since it is a range of ball sizes not a specific size. Buck shot is when the balls become pretty large and must be carefully packed instead of just poured into the shell. The issue comes that they don't understand spread and maximum distance. "Shotguns have an effective range of about 35 m (38 yd) with buckshot, 45 m (49 yd) with birdshot, 100 m (110 yd) with slugs, and well over 150 m (160 yd) with saboted slugs in rifled barrels." ~wikipedia.en page for Shotgun shell And you can increase or decrease the spread with both material and special mechanisms not found on all shotguns. If handled perfectly you could turn a whole room into a storm of metal shards up close and personal or hit someone with a cloud at 35m and that's without considering Slugs that are basically just really heavy bullets flying straight.

I think the monster that's at the lighthouse is stuck because its surrounded by water. My guess is that someone turned into it and deliberately stayed at the lighthouse so they couldn't go anywhere else. The clothes Emma took was most likely theirs.
Twin Peaks is not too slow for me at all! I love that Twin Peaks really lets the ambience simmer. There aren't that many fast cuts between people talking to get ideas across as fast as possible. The shots will linger a little too long on people, or else someone will fumble dialogue or just stop talking awkwardly. The mood on that show is just superb imo haha.
I’m a huge twin peaks fan! Rewatching it is an endeavor you have to be in the right mood for. Btw the actress playing the tarot card lady was Sarah Palmer, Laura’s mother.

I really like watching Evelyn plays its has different feel than other streamer. Like how different Jack and Evelyn, Jack is just too Goofy and Evelyn is a lot more calmer and i just want to see different decision in this gameplay.
Twin Peaks is my favorite show of all time and I love how much you've been talking about it. Actually, the actress in this game played Sarah Palmer, Laura Palmer's mother which is, in my opinion, an even scarier character. You should definitely give the series another shot if you're interested! There's so much backstory and the mysteries and rabbit holes go so deep.
I really liked Twin Peaks, I would sometimes play an episode just for 'atmospheric' entertainment in the background, but then not necessarily pay attention to it. Just catching a scene or listening to it, or casually watching it, I can still feel that eerie, mysterious, creeped out .. 'creative' feeling. 🤷🏻♀ I didn't watch every episode, though. Mulholland Drive was one of my favorite movies to watch just to get into that kinda vibe, when I wanted to.. Thank you so much for playing this, I'm super into it!!

That big guy needed better social skills. Could have just told Kaitlyn that he's there to help. And yes, we are playing in classic werewolf rules where killing the alpha, or the one that bit you in this case, will lift the curse.
Watching Gabs makes the jump scares so much less scary, I love her horror game series. Genuinely think I wouldn't be able to endure these kinda games without her (even tho I wanna know the plots so bad)
I mean at this point they have all seen the werewolf and know it’s not a normal thing, it just so happens to be a full moon, nick gets bitten by one which gets infected by some strange black ooze, he gets very ill and more aggressive, he literally sells Abi smells nice and he wants to taste her, he has a horrible reaction to water and no one thinks that he is becoming a werewolf, like have they never heard of werewolves or something. I know it’s just a game but sometimes I like to question fictional things
The scariest part of this game is the fact that they were using their phones for light and recording and stuff and some how doing all that all night didnt kill their phones which have only been at twenty something percent since they got them back...

I agree. I love gab and her channel but i was waiting to see her reaction to that joke cuz when i played this and he said that i cracked up so hard. But she missed it cuz she was talking. I'm not complaining or being mean but i just really wish she Would've heard the joke. It's one of my fav scenes in the game. I've been watching her god of war 2018 playthrough from 4 yrs ago and she talked almost the whole time. I'm on episode 3 the only reason I'm ok with her talking during that is cuz i own the game and have played it several times so it's not like I'll miss anything. I know she streams these live but atleast for your subs try not to talk during cut scenes in story type games especially if some people haven't seen or played the game. I was hesitant on saying anything cuz i don't want anyone thinking I'm being mean to gab cuz I'm not. And i get it i love to talk too but if i did what she does for a living I'd atleast try to not talk during the scenes in the game where they are talking. Other than that i love her playthroughs. Her and sean are the ones that got me into bloodborne so yeah. I really enjoy her content other than that.

Just a little tid bit of information as a medic, if you are in a situation with an amputated limb, DO NOT cauterize the wound. The chance of infraction goes up drastically and causes unnecessary pain. Use a tourniquet or a makeshift tourniquet to stop the bleeding. Don't remove it at any point. Then just cover the wound with something clean and put the amputated limb in a bag of ice.
can you reattach it if you keep the limb in ice?
@@cadbck it really depends on how it was amputated, how much time passes between amputation and hospital, and if the hospital is equipped to attempt it. Entirely possible though and lots of people are able to fully rehabilitate their limbs

Apparently you should also put the amputated part in a ziplock bag or something IN the ice so it doesn’t soak up water, expand, and then be impossible to reattach as a result. I assume that would vary in necessity depending on how long it’s in the ice but I did learn it in first aid so I swear I didn’t pull it out of my arse completely
@@cadbck my sister's pinky finger got cut off completely while she was doing some Ikea wood work but we put her pinky in ice in a covered up bowl and took her to the hospital and they where able to attach her pinky back successfully but it doesn't move very much. I don't think you can do the same with an entire arm.
Kaitlyn's character is really well written. Like she immediately notices that Abbie is anxious so gives her a related task to distract her, plus she's super rational ("take photos for evidence") I really like her

These chapters are where I finally started to enjoy Dylan and Ryan, like individually. I also love that their relationship isn’t forced. It’s a nice comfy pace and not rushed at all.
Dylan is pretty clear with his motivations while being true to himself too. GREAT character writing.

The whole family except the police man is super blasé about killing people they mostly just care about being found out. Also don't you think that Chris might have locked himself up in the storm cellar say 2 months prior? turned out to not be the best spot.
If you shoot Nick before he turns then abi drops the gun and he explodes into a werewolf much faster and since he is now hurt he jumps out the window. Shooting him wouldn't have killed him because you need silver bullets.

i had a theory of why the game has streamer mode... and its related to people taking a dip (uncensored) and the girl transforming back to human and still has her underwear. I assume streamer mode covers nudity? like why would all the clothes be shredded except the underwear(when morbin)? do you know what i mean?

The amputee at least dropped his mask for the guy he liked, Emma just loves playing games and being a dick to everyone except Ariel Winter. Wait nevermind, I forgot she chose to kiss the guy she liked out of nowhere in spite of how well they got along.

As for the kiss, she messed up but she wanted Abi and Nick to finally make a move before the end of summer. And if we go this way, Dylan didn't move a muscle at the firepit when Abi screamt for help, whereas Kaitlyn and Ryan ran for it. Abi left Nick in the woods, just saying... Jacob broke the van...

I love how gab knows a lot about werewolf lore and was hitting the right predictions for the game. So proud she also remembers the characters' names compare to baby gab in until dawn who struggles with names.
The trick is to turn on the names in the subtitles so you constantly get reminded haha
I'm watching both Seán's and Evelien's playthrough and it's so funny and cute to see how many similar reactions they have to the events in the game! Can't wait to see how their gameplays turn out in the end.

If basically all the adults know the forest is infested with monsters, why is the camp still open for business at all? The liability exposure alone is insane. Also, after retrieving the engine arm, why wasn't the car ever fixed? Also, after first seeing the monsters, why didn't they remember the warning to stay inside until dawn?
After grabbing the rotor arm, Jacob got his other arm caught on the razor wire around the chains holding down the corpse. The hand holding the rotor arm opens as he disentangles himself, so he presumably loses the part again at that point, this time for good. (Basically, the rotor arm is just a breadcrumb to lead Jacob to the evidence in the lake.)

It bugs me that rotor arm plot thread has seemingly disappeared.

I absolutley love watching Gab play this game, but as a trauma therapist, I find the quippiness of most of these characters pretty unrealistic. I can totally appreciate this as horror entertainment; realism isn't the aim for something like this! But, it's interesting to me that the writers depict very real things like shock (Dylan losing his hand and it not hurting) and confessions (Nick trying and failing to tell Abi how he feels for her), but choose not to depict many of the other major trauma responses.
Literally no one asked for this, but if you're curious to hear how I might write it differently, read on! :D (Trigger warning if trauma-linked topics like this are too much for you!)
Humor as a deflection tool is rarely neurobiolgoically accessible in a situation like this UNLESS you get to a longer-term safe place so your nervous system can relax. The part of your brain that pushes you to survive and the part of your brain that houses your capacity for sarcasm are *completely* different. Humor doesn't come back "online" until you know you're safe. These kids would either be so emotionally numb that there is no/sparce dialogue or so emotionally flooded that they'd be yelling, crying, shaking, spewing information at each other, and otherwise struggling to function as normal (aka, wise-cracking). I'd love to see real responses as a means of furthering a horror narrative. No jokes.
Gimme' a scene where Emma breaks down when she sees Jacob (a friend = safety and relief) after bad-ass-escaping the werewolf on the island. Gimme' a scene where they're all huddled under a lodge window, cradling their guns and counting down the hours until morning. Gimme' a scene where all of them feel guilty for being scared of Nick. Gimme' a scene where they're struggling to piece together the night's events in chronological order (also very common; your memory-filing mechanism shuts down during major trauma, hence why PTSD lives on in the present despite the inciting event taking place in the past). OH and IMAGINE how powerful of a scene it would be for all of them to be together in a place of relative safety, quietly holding hands, sharing food, relishing humanizing scraps of contact and trying to get each other to stop shaking. Maybe then there could be heartfelt humor. A whispered campfire song or two. Memories of home or the summer or each other, shared. Senses of unity and light amidst such darkness, restored.
My umbrella rule for writing trauma is this: people get serious when they're scared. That doesn't necessarily mean they'll be cold, but I'd bet that if any of these teens tried to crack a joke about another one of them losing a hand or something, the rest of the group would view that as incredibly calloused. It wouldn't fit. Humor could be deflective fodder for less impactful traumas, perhaps, but not this. Not when the trauma/risk for continued unsafety is still actively occurring.
Another thing: the most impactful part of trauma isn't always the event. It could be how you handled the event, how another person handled the event, or how any other part of the event played out. For example, if I were treating a soldier who watched their dear friend die in combat (not unlike what these teens are witnessing), it's actually less likely that they would be hyperfixated on the blood, the wound, the mission, etc. Likely, the worst part of that moment for the soldier would be that they "did nothing to stop it" or that they "felt nothing when it happened." Our own survival responses can traumatize us. Sometimes the scariest part of a trauma is just how un-human we feel in doing what is necessary to survive it.

Not a trauma therapist, but someone who suffers from lots of it and I agree. I love Dylan's humor and the way the characters interact with each other, but it bugs me so much that most of the time no one is freaking out about what they're experiencing. Emma especially (at least in the 2 playthroughs I've done so far). She just flies through the game and protects herself, yes, but then seems unaffected by everything after an event happens. In my playthrough, at the end, she's like dancing and humming in the basement and even Abi is like, "Hello? What are you doing? Have you not been paying attention to what's been happening? Why are you so chipper right now?" I like her character, but also strongly dislike it cause it's very unsettling the way she in particular reacts to things.
I think this game suffers a little bit tonally for this exact reason. It wants to be quippy AND gritty/"realistic," but doesn't quite know how to strike the right balance. As someone who suffers from trauma and has been in a lot of emergency situations, I appreciate your perspective! I think a lot of the humor comes after the fact, like I definitely deal with my trauma by making jokes, but I wasn't doing that WHILE the trauma was taking place lol.
I woke up to a wide open front door when I watched my aunt's dogs. Yes I was freaking out because someone could have broke in during the night, but while I was on the phone with my mom I was making sarcastic jokes. All this while I was going room to room *with a knife.* Did the same thing after a couple car crashes, breaking bones, being run over by a wheelchair, and being attacked by a cotton mouth about 10 ft long. Sometimes people just revert to sarcasm when they're scared.
never really been in a like. life threatening traumatic situation, but I get really easily irritable, sarcastic, and quippy when under a lot of stress. like lashing out, i guess, at myself too, so bitter sarcasm, fear, and self-deprecating jokes is probably how id respond in a situation like this.
Emma running away from the werewolf reminded me of Emily escaping from the wendigo in until dawn
Love your playthrough. When you go through your next playthrough word of caution if you use the death rewind. It can only be used 3 times and it will rewind you back to what action caused the death so it could either rewind 5 mins or set you 5 hours back haha speaking from experience

@LeviP1aysI think gab turned it off for the first playthrough so she can be honest with her choices the first time, but death rewind will happen basically immediately after a death happens and you can choose to do it or not.
so a choice 5 hrs earlier can lead to an unavoidable death that much later? kinda annoying but a nice feature still since the game is so long and starting ALL the way over to get a save everyone ending would be worse

Maybe it varies based on area, but every time I've called 911 they ask my location and what the emergency is and the dispatcher is the one who decides whether to send cops, ambulance, or fire rescue. If you're not sure whether you need cops or ambulance or both when calling 911, explain that to the dispatcher and they'll make the decision. That's their job.
@@loupgarou95 yeah in this case they probably aren't going to send the police who aren't exactly trained for woodland operations or animal control and will probably send paramedics and rangers. Probably with police and animal control told to standby as the victims are retrieved and the situation evaluated.

@@singingwolf8997 you get the option to start with extra lives ( you can turn it off like gab did) by buying the deluxe edition. All players get access to it after they complete the first playthrough.
I always prefer blind playthroughs where whatever happens happens. The whole point of choose-your-own-adventure type games is that it turns out different for everyone. If someone gets upset by "wrong" choices, they shouldn't be watching blind playthroughs, they should wait for the perfect-ending-playthroughs.
I'm glad the game has some severe consequences this early on, and not just at the very end!

You understandably expected Nick to rush like a werewolf would in other cases we’ve seen…. However I wouldn’t be lying if I didn’t verbally shout to “shoot him!” with the shotgun when the time was almost out. Poor Abi.
Emma really is MVP in this! Kaitlyn's pretty cool but Emma held herself REALLY well onthe two instances she was left on her own! also the creatures seem to be FIRST going after the ones they "love" or care for the most..🤔 poor Abi..thoough we all kinda saw that coming i think 😅 i hope your episodes ran a bit longer! tbh, i wouldn't mind 2 hour-long episodes! :D

Kaitlyn’s awesome. Pretty much all of the characters are likable for one reason or another for me except for Emma. The fact she’s so capable is _something_ to root for, I guess, but that’s about it. She’s still toxic.

And again at the campfire, given the fireworks so she wouldn't die. They didn't give Abi or Nick anything, they just were like fuck them. Nick was bitten immediately with no chance to do anything, didnt want to kill your friend/love who you may or may not be able to save? Head ripped off. Lol Kaitlyn would've made more sense to highlight, she seems way more capable than all of them, hopefully she gets more time to shine. it's your choices and whatnot that determines what they do and how each person performs, but some characters seem to get the short end of the stick more.

The one thing I am learning through watching people play this game is how games skewed peoples understanding of shotgun lethality. Games like CoD really make them look like toys that don't work over 10 meters, when at least 30 meters is the lethal distance with the least lethal kind of shell.
I hate how games make shotguns useless past a few feet, games like Escape from Tarkov have realistic shotguns and its so much better
you can easily use a shotgun to hunt squirrels. thats how i remember it. if you can kind of get close enough to a squirrel to shoot it, then thats about how far a shotgun can lethally shoot. (at least a fully wild squirrel not one of those fat city campus squirrels.)
Reminds me of the way all the games with guns have a .22 as something that like, stings, at best. I find it hard to believe a piece of metal shooting into or through you is something you can just shrug off even if it isn't huge.
Even rounds not intended to kill can still easily kill people. So they have to call them "less than lethal" rounds.
I guess it is because people don't really understand shotgun ammo.
Bird shot is basically useless on humans at any real distance since it is made to fill a large area with tiny BBs to damage a Bird's wings just enough to kill them with the fall. Of course some of them can be fairly large since it is a range of ball sizes not a specific size.
Buck shot is when the balls become pretty large and must be carefully packed instead of just poured into the shell.
The issue comes that they don't understand spread and maximum distance.

And you can increase or decrease the spread with both material and special mechanisms not found on all shotguns. If handled perfectly you could turn a whole room into a storm of metal shards up close and personal or hit someone with a cloud at 35m and that's without considering Slugs that are basically just really heavy bullets flying straight.

I think the monster that's at the lighthouse is stuck because its surrounded by water. My guess is that someone turned into it and deliberately stayed at the lighthouse so they couldn't go anywhere else. The clothes Emma took was most likely theirs.
Twin Peaks is not too slow for me at all! I love that Twin Peaks really lets the ambience simmer. There aren't that many fast cuts between people talking to get ideas across as fast as possible. The shots will linger a little too long on people, or else someone will fumble dialogue or just stop talking awkwardly. The mood on that show is just superb imo haha.

I really like watching Evelyn plays its has different feel than other streamer. Like how different Jack and Evelyn, Jack is just too Goofy and Evelyn is a lot more calmer and i just want to see different decision in this gameplay.

Twin Peaks is my favorite show of all time and I love how much you've been talking about it. Actually, the actress in this game played Sarah Palmer, Laura Palmer's mother which is, in my opinion, an even scarier character. You should definitely give the series another shot if you're interested! There's so much backstory and the mysteries and rabbit holes go so deep.

I really liked Twin Peaks, I would sometimes play an episode just for 'atmospheric' entertainment in the background, but then not necessarily pay attention to it. Just catching a scene or listening to it, or casually watching it, I can still feel that eerie, mysterious, creeped out .. 'creative' feeling. 🤷🏻♀ I didn't watch every episode, though. Mulholland Drive was one of my favorite movies to watch just to get into that kinda vibe, when I wanted to.. Thank you so much for playing this, I'm super into it!!

Watching Gabs makes the jump scares so much less scary, I love her horror game series. Genuinely think I wouldn't be able to endure these kinda games without her (even tho I wanna know the plots so bad)
I mean at this point they have all seen the werewolf and know it’s not a normal thing, it just so happens to be a full moon, nick gets bitten by one which gets infected by some strange black ooze, he gets very ill and more aggressive, he literally sells Abi smells nice and he wants to taste her, he has a horrible reaction to water and no one thinks that he is becoming a werewolf, like have they never heard of werewolves or something. I know it’s just a game but sometimes I like to question fictional things
The scariest part of this game is the fact that they were using their phones for light and recording and stuff and some how doing all that all night didnt kill their phones which have only been at twenty something percent since they got them back...
