I really enjoy your perspectives and way of living, it's encouraging. I'm 44 years old, a truck driver and I have a lot of time to think and I often think about how my grandparents grew up and what they had to deal with. Even after all of the hardships they went through my grandmother, part caddo Indian, always said to be kind to others, love your family and always remember that no matter what no one can take your spirit away. They may take your money, your possessions or even your life but who you are is permanent and will live forever.
No truer words spoken. They say history repeats it's self and I have come to believe that. When I was a young buck (I'm now 65) 10 feet tall and bullet proof my grandfather was always giving me advice some of witch I would shrug off as an old man preaching but as I grew older it started to resonate. I think the the advice he gave me that followed me all thru my life and benefited me most was " If your going to do something do it right or don't do it at all, keep God in your heart and treat others as you want to be treated". My son is 35 years old, I tried to pass on my grandfathers advice some times thinking I was talking to a rock but as time went on I realized that he was listening and I see it more each day. Thank you for putting the message out there. The young ones might not appreciate it now but in time I'm sure most will realize and understand the wisdom in your words. Thank you.
Is there any way you could do a mini series on getting started with your first horse? I love your videos, especially the cigar videos. Thanks for sharing
@@ryancason1058 Time needed to bring a horse to where it needs to be cannot be measured in hours per day. If it’s time spent correctly, 4 days of 30 minutes each can sometimes be more productive that one 2 hour session. The time is most often measured in weeks and months, instead of days and hours. It is a commitment of patience and perseverance and constant learning and growth, for however long it takes.

I really enjoy your videos Dewayne. I'm 63 years old and it really worries me the direction the country and the world we find ourselves in are headed. Thank you for your talks.
Dewayne, I just found your channel, and man your talking the talk I've heard all my life from heroes that never knew they were heroes. It's good to hear a man who talks to all other men and women out here who really have no guidance from their fathers, uncles, older brothers or their bosses. I rode a horse once in my life, and admire those who do. I've grown up working hard and long hours, never knowing an 8 hour day. The world I grew up in was one with cotton mill workers, factory workers, firemen, truck drivers of which I have been for 44 years now. God has blessed me with the mindset to get up and be the man that they don't want to retire. God bless and keep you and yours!
First time I listen to you. I'm a South African. So true so sincere. So much what I believe. Sir you must do this on as many platforms as possible. You speak the truth.
♥️ This video is one of my favorites of yours. Hits right in the center of my heart -where Christ Jesus dwells! The Lord bless you, your family, all Christians in the USA 🇺🇸 and our brothers and sisters in Christ throughout the world.
When you talked about the right heart someone that is or isn’t Christian, cowboy, or cop…. I agree 110%. The man who I called my grandpa Tom Randall from Pegosa Sorinngs, Co told me I was a cowboy. I’ve tried my hardest to be the best at everything I do and I started a dream about a year ago trying to become a cowboy and before he died he said I was a cowboy and I went home that night a cried. That man taught me how to be a man how to work cows. I just found your channel and I love it! I’m 22 and I want to be the best cowboy I can only thing is…. It’s hard to find a ranch anymore that needs hands😂 the way you talk really sounds like Tom Randall talking to me and my best friends(his actual grandsons)
As a young man of only 22, I find it hard to carry on the old ways, though I try my best. Something as simple as giving a lady my chair is not normal in today's society, I I have to constantly remind myself how to act around women, instead of just going along with societal normalities. Every day I check TH-cam, and I'm excited when you put another video out, because you are full of knowledge I would like to have. In proverbs it says knowledge is the principle thing, get wisdom, get understanding. Thanks for being open with us and sharing that wisdom. Too many people get caught up in the latest fads and follies of modern society, and learn nothing to better themselves.
Hello, don't give up wanting to give a lady your chair. You are admirable. Do it. There will surely be someone who notices and learns from your example. I taught my son (when he was in kindergarden) to always walk on the car side of the street if he was with a girl. I like gentlemen. It's elegant and respectful and if society is going the other way it's the wrong way. Cheers
There is so much to passing down wisdom and knowledge orally. I do this a lot with my grandkids. On national holidays we get together as a family and I will narrate some history or family legends. Depending on the holiday I will go into Paul Revere's ride, The battles at Concord and Lexington, The Star Spangled Banner. They love it. The older kids have heard these tales a bunch of times. But they look forward to them every year. Just a couple of weeks ago I got such a great surprise. Actually made me, their grandpa, shed a tear or two. Isa, my oldest grandson, asked if he could regale the family with George Washington's crossing of the Delaware. What I had believed to be just a somewhat silly recitation of a historic event proved to be a legacy.
You are a very wise man and you have charisma! You are the kind of man that others line up to follow! And what a cowboy leading man you could have been!! Thanks!
Im a 21 year old man who has been struggling with myself and my place in society ive been watching you for a few months now and you’ve helped me grow a lot as a person as a man and as a boyfriend thank you for making videos and teaching us what isn’t taught as much anymore I will do my best to carry on the older ways within myself and children
D’Wayne, I love your videos very much! Even though I don’t ride horses on a ranch, I find your concepts to be very helping and encouraging! I’m a young man in my 20s, working as an electrician and never really had any role models to follow. My parents either didn’t care about anything, or they were too obedient to “conventional dogma.” I never really liked the new standards set out today by public schools, politicians and new professors; as I always questioned why we got rid of magnificent architecture, why we got rid of apprenticeships, why all the drug/alcohol/porn addictions, and why did we abandon so many good morales??! You and many others have enlightened me a lot!! I will forever be grateful of your educational videos!!
I've got to say, that being able to spend lots of time with my Grandparents when young, has been priceless to me. My Grandma's motto was Happy Everything. She lived to 94 and she definitely lived it full. My Grandpa passed almost 20 years before, that man was a pro at everything he touched, and enjoyed very much working with his hands, teaching his skills, and sharing a heart for helping everyone you can, even if in a small way. He was excellent at being able to acknowledge everyone he met, and truly showing them that they, individually were greatly appreciated. He also excelled at appreciating the little pleasures in life. He never talked about that, but instead just acted about it, and his example caught people's attention, and vicariously, turning to actually, they seemed to enjoy the little things more too when around him. Shine your light bright! You never know who you may light up! Shalom!
Such a great message. Old school was lessons learned with time, and principles passed down with morals. We were taught HOW to think instead of being told what to think. That’s all being erased, and the world will not be a better place for that happening. We do need to pass it on down. The younger generations are not the future. We are. They’re just the souls that will be stuck having to deal with the mess we leave for them. That’s why we have to try.
We men need to stay true to the old ways. Dwayne is worth way more than Google for wisdom and truth. Thank you Dwayne. We need your advice and guidance.
You are the father that I would have always liked to have. Thank God, I have found your Channel and I will watch each and every one of your videos. Thank you for being such a good person and for being who you are. God bless you, Mr. Dwayne
Thank you for your honest and valuable videos. I´m 24 years old man from Czech Republic and I agree with most of the things that you are mentioning in your output. All my life I know, that I´m just different and for long amount of time I taught myself that I don´t belong in this world, but now I know to just calm down, keep my values up and go on. Everything will be allright.
Spot on. You expressed my feelings so eloquently. I wish I could print out this video transcript and just start handing it out to everyone I see. I think what you are saying is that it’s no longer enough to be a good person and quietly go about your life doing the right thing. That’s how the lunacy that is happening today starts to sneak in. By not calling people on their cow pies, we are letting it happen. I don’t ever feel that I can express myself in a way that could ever persuade anyone toward a better way of thinking or debate anything. I’m going to listen to this video until I can use your wisdom when I need to express sanity. Thank you for your words, and for what you and your wife are doing for people in these cigar videos!
I just found your channel I am 30 I'm no cowboy but, i like to think i'm an old soul your videos slow things down for me and make me think and i appreciate that. Thanks
Good commentary Dewayne! I share the same thoughts about our country, it’s future and the rising tide of evil our children and grandchildren are facing even now. It won’t last forever, it’s days have already been measured and counted, and the judgements of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. Our instructions are to stand firm and persevere to the end. Tough times create tough men, tough men create easy times, easy times produce soft men, soft men create tough times… If we do our part, and by God’s grace our children and grandchildren should be even better than us, their times will demand it…;). Greg
My favorite video so far Dwayne.I am 10 yrs older than you and was lucky enough to have Norwegian immigrant grandparents whom took me in from an abusive home in CA at 15 yrs old in 1972. Different life, you had to work. They were in there early 70's, still working, They and many others in this small farm town in North Dakota put values into me that saved my very life. I am MOST fortunate to have had that. Listen to your elders that have that good old fashion wisdom that was bestowed on themselves.
There is a great quote in Elmer Kelton's The Time it Never Rained. "Each of these men had had his own time-the Indian, the mustang hunter, the pioneer rancher-and each had passed from the scene". For those that have read Elmer Kelton you would know the changing times are a common theme in his books The Smiling Country, The Time it Never Rained, and The Man Who Rode Midnight. I find that line comforting, as a 21 year old man coming up in these changing times. I can't be Hewy Calloway or Charlie Flagg or Wes Hendrix, their time has come and gone, but I can be me. I can be shaped by men such as these, just as they were shaped by the men before them. (Thank you for the great video it helped me come to this realization)
Sir I come across your channel a few days ago and subscribed because of the quality and wholesome morals. I'm in my late 50s & I raised my only child by myself and enjoyed every moment with my son John. Well a couple years back 12/25/20 I received a phone call from the authorities that my son had been found dead due to a overdose, needless to say I've been a broken man trying to figure out what now? I've learned to turn it over to God and get back to the basics, not like I was far from it anyway growing up in the mountains on a farm. There's a couple things I really enjoy about you is being grounded, your faith and honesty to say the least. Just know you are touching lives in this cold world and I appreciate you. Thank you and God bless you and your family.
Well said and very true! These young people have No clue what they are missing! My Grandfather always talked about the old ways! And he would say his life time was great! In 2023 people lost their respect for each other! Jesus Christ said sell your Cloak for a Sword
It IS the heart! Your grandchildren, and those on your path, are very blessed to have you and your wife. I am on your path and you have touched my heart. God bless and Keep On.
Jeremiah 6:16 KJV “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.”
Love this. Great videos. Common sense. Good heart talk. I think we take for granted that everyone has had common sense raising or a good mentor. Total respect for the old ways. Live your life doing the best you can. Ignore the noise.
I just looked up 'Coyotes' by Don Edwards, which I'd never heard before, and it's a beautiful song. I grew up in London to Irish parents in a substantial community of Irish immigrants (which itself is no more), where many of the older generation enjoyed country & western music. But of course they all listened to Irish folk music as well, and 'Coyotes' reminds me of a song called 'The Rare Old Times', of which many singers had their own renditions. It too speaks of times changing, and warm tradition being replaced with cold modernity. It may not be to everyone's taste, but I recommend giving it a listen, and the Paddy Reilly version in particular. This video also reminds me of one of my favourite quotes: "Tradition is a set of solutions for which we have forgotten the problems. Throw away the solution and you get the problem back." - Donald Kingsbury, author. That being said, thanks again for another inspiring video, Dewayne. I'm working my way through them all, since discovering your work just a few days ago. God bless 🙏🏽🔥💪🏽
I stumbled Upon your videos a week or so ago while looking for mule videos. I have enjoyed everything so far this particular video hits home a lot. Thank you
I almost cried listening to this. Feeling like I don’t fit in because I still hold on to old traditions, customs and behaviors. Even within my family. It’s getting pretty lonely. It was my father who passed down these things to me and his parents to him. I truly appreciate how I was raised and nurtured.
I'm an ordinary guy from the UK. I have no connection to the way of life your describing. However having met some Texans in my time and looking at the values they represented we MUST preserve the traditions your speaking of. Because after the worlds gone to hell there needs to be a seed to regrow it from. We have our own version of that struggle here in the UK. Your millions strong. Don't forget that and don't let the media and politicians tell you otherwise. We are a worldwide brotherhood of traditionalists. Keep up the good fight sir. 🙏
100 percent spot on . I feel like that every day and old trucker living in a new day .things that meant something don’t and the things that do don’t make sense . I’m something to be fixed because I learned the old ways of driving’s truck . What makes me a good driver is my heart is in the right place . Most of these drivers today their heart is not in the right place . You train anyone to do most anything but to have heart in it is something different .

I respect you so much!!!
Thanks, Michael, 68 year old man.
In Georgia! Thank you.
Good video, I wish more folks would come back to the traditional ways of life.
Well said. I also couldn’t help but notice that you’re a traveling man... how old’s your mother?
Yes, the good old traditional pre-Christian ways of life.
Yes I agree please do sir
All I can say is don’t just go buy a sale barn horse unless you are willing to spend lots of time working with the horse
Yes, I would be happy to put out some videos on that subject. Thanks!
What do you consider alot of time cause I get home at 7 I could probably do a hour or 2 every afternoon
God bless you sir-words of wisdom.
Lonnie Williams Amen 10 times over. I old school myself of 79, country boy at heart...born again christian Jan 5, 2020. thanks Dewyne
I discovered you while I was flipping through TH-cam doing stalls and chorin. You’re an inspiration man I’m only 32 but I can see and agree with everything you say. I may live in New England but I hold the same core values you do.
Thanks for taking the time to do these videos and PLEASE keep them coming.
I will pass on the old ways. Thank you
God bless you. sir.
Love from Israel
I thank God that there are still people out there with great common sense, and you are one of them. I love watching your videos and I don't get to watch nearly all of em, not that I don't want to. My dad and I sat for hours and talked about this kind of stuff, 20 years ago and it's worse now then what it was back then... Thank you And I still haven't found anything to prove the mule vs the horse thing that I was told so I say you're probably right...👍👍👍
29 y.o. Truck driver, I love this stuff. It hits home
Very well said and much needed in this world. You Sir, are definitely not alone in this feeling. All us “coyotes” need to stop sitting silent and watching this world crumble. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”
I'm a 22 year old and have always felt connected with older people and the older ways one of my mentors was an older gentleman who taught me how to trap and skin used to go to mountain man rendezvous since I was a young boy I wanted to get married and have a good family and since I have and have 2 beautiful young girls and will be raising them the old ways my mother always said I had an old soul and she wasn't wton
This is just wonderful. Thank you from the UK sir 🙏
So glad I found your channel. Old school morals that are so foreign today. Thank you and continue to share with us. 🙏🏽❤️
Thank you very much. I appreciate the time and effort you put into the videos.
I am only 23 but I will be passing the old ways to my daughter and all of my future children. It’s how I was raised and it’s the way a lot of kids need these days.
my dad ran away, my mom left me with drunk religious grandparents, yeah literally no one in my life was any good, thanks for your videos, wish I had a dad like u
👏🏾 Exceptional words of wisdom. My 5 month old son and I listen to you throughout each day while my husband is at work. We love it!! Thank you Sir!!!
no truer words have been spoken sir, god blees you for these wonderful videos.
you are leaving a legacy for a lot more than your kids, thank you - your videos are having a good effect on my own children
Cheers
I needed to hear this today, thank you for sharing, this is exactly the way I've been feeling
Great words and values there are some of us still around.
Instructional and cigar-philosophical, and always entertaining - partly because you’re an awesome storyteller. 👍🏻
As Agent 007 said in "Skyfall" when wielding his straight razor: "Sometimes the old ways are the best." I'd be proud to ride with you. Anytime.
and sometimes they´re the worst
My parents either didn’t care about anything, or they were too obedient to “conventional dogma.”
I never really liked the new standards set out today by public schools, politicians and new professors; as I always questioned why we got rid of magnificent architecture, why we got rid of apprenticeships, why all the drug/alcohol/porn addictions, and why did we abandon so many good morales??!
Shalom!
No substitute for Grandpa wisdom....wise words and sentiment indeed.
From a 71 yr.old Evangelist...I belive that will PREACH Brother. Sure enjoy your videos. KEEP PLANTIG SHADE TREES. Amen!
Yes please. Teach people who are without this understanding.
We men need to stay true to the old ways. Dwayne is worth way more than Google for wisdom and truth. Thank you Dwayne. We need your advice and guidance.
Man seeing Dewayne from 2 years ago is crazy! So thankful for his generosity of sharing wisdom and joy with us.
Thank you sir bless you and momma
Yes sir. Thank you kindly 👍
God Bless you and God Bless America.
GOD Bless Brother, good and true video, thanks.
😃👍Thanks for the video from Germany.
I live in the old values of old Nordic values,
Thank you so much! I will share this! God bless!
I just found your channel I am 30 I'm no cowboy but, i like to think i'm an old soul your videos slow things down for me and make me think and i appreciate that. Thanks
Thank you for this message. Dennis Morgan
AMEN! Thank you for sharing!
You’re great man. Respect from Turkey 🇹🇷
"Sometimes people just need a little bit of help, rather than encouragement." 🙏🏻
Jeremiah 6:16 KJV
“Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.”
Love this. Great videos. Common sense. Good heart talk. I think we take for granted that everyone has had common sense raising or a good mentor.
Total respect for the old ways.
Live your life doing the best you can. Ignore the noise.
I respect and love you uncle. You are a right man
Thank God for you Brother. You are a blessing to many and I am thankful for your presence and truth
This video also reminds me of one of my favourite quotes:
"Tradition is a set of solutions for which we have forgotten the problems. Throw away the solution and you get the problem back."
- Donald Kingsbury, author.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. A touch from your heart. I agree with your words.
This reminds me of my grandpa sitting me down and teaching me what a man should be. Thank you for these videos.
You are awesome. Agree 100%! Everyone in the country needs to listen to your video
Thank you for your message sir, i couldn’t agree more.
This is the heaviest channel. It makes touring so much better. Cheers from Canada!
Good talk - to the point.
You are so right. Thank you.
Re watch. So Vry apt.We can Not let them Die.i have you and your wife to thank for starting to write stories about Heidi and McGee and my squirrel.Brothers crow Georgie, for My Daughter and Grandson..Thank You BOTH.DO NOT STOP.kat,ct.
4:37 - "heart"
Yes, that is the word i was looking for, thank you sir.
Heart is the difference between knowledge and wisdom
Heart is the difference between work and avocation
Heart is the difference between person and human
Thanks... for putting it in nut shell. Good heart...good values. And the time to share them.
Congrats on your grand child. Thank you for your work.
