I changed my major second semester of my sophomore year of college, it was one of the best decisions I ever made! I don’t think I asked anyone, I mentioned it to one friend and went for it. Because of that, I experienced so many 1st that who knows when I would have experienced. I got to travel and flew for the first time all for free. I made some amazing friendships and I am using both majors currently! To the person who wrote this in for advice, you know what’s best for you and I’m not sure if you are a Believer or not but if you are seek God for peace in that decision!

I want to quit so bad but these ppl are not hearing it… i feel bad cuz they’ve already invested so much in me, but I’m tired. I’m not happy or glad to go to school everyday . It stresses me out. My parents don’t quite understand
My family wanted me to be an accountant/ insurance agent- their dream was to have me work at my uncle's insurance company. I tried to please them and got my insurance license and started working with my uncle- I hated selling insurance and was unhappy. I secretly enrolled in nursing school and started doing my prerequisites. Long story short; I became a nurse in 2008. This was the best decision that I made in my life- I love my job. Nursing is my lifestyle and not a job. To the one asking this question; do what you love. You are the one who is going to live with the consequences. Do you really want to go to a job that you hate 40 hours a week? I wouldn't want to do that. Life is too short to be unhappy. Find a way to respectfully explain to your parents that you love them but want to pursue a career that you love. Live life to the fullest- YOU ONLY HAVE ONE LIFE. BE HAPPY, BE KIND AND BE A BLESSING.💥💥💥
👏🏾Wow!!! Imagine not taking that chance. I so agree with you about respectfully explain to them. In the same breath, be prepared for them to support or not support and be able to move forward regardless. It's possible to do what you love but so many people don't so it seems impossible. It really took me awhile to understand that 👉🏾"life is too short to be unhappy".
Great advice!!! As long as we have breath, let's do what makes us fulfilled. Like you said, life is too short to live it unhappy and not in our passion(s)
Ugh I hate being a nurse too much responsibility
At the end of the day everyone has their life to live. The choice of career is a privilege that only you can and should control. Don't allow anyone take that power from you. You are going to work to do the work after all is said and done. With little control you have in life, be sure to be creating the life that you want. I'm not saying to be selfish but seek God first then do what's best for YOU.
I remember when everyone was pushing me to go for nursing because initially that's what I wanted but I realize teaching was the best path for me! I enjoy teaching 🤗🤗
Nehemie!!! What a word!!! "The choice of a career is a privilege that only you can and should control." So well put. There truly is power in that and when someone else decides for you or pushes you in one direction they take that privilege away. Major kudos to you for listening to your intuition, God's voice and following the path that is for you! 👏🏾🙌🏾 It's so amazing how little control we have yet God gives us options and freedom to simply be!

Praise God thank you for making this video! I am mixed up a little bit in what major to focus on. But your last sound wisdom gave me more confidence of the path what I should do. Thank you for your advice. I know I need to be thankful of what is already in front of me and to make a decision of what I want to do while the other major may be delayed a little bit. Because like you mentioned, it's better to take that chance than to be even more delayed. God bless
