I have to graduate a year later since I changed my degree from economics to mathematics. Luckily the economics degree I was doing was mostly mathematical based (5/8 of the ''modules'' in the first year are from the Department of Mathematics rather than the Department of Economics), so it basically means I have a year to do three easy maths modules and get as much work experience etc. as possible, and also read ahead on fluid dynamics so I don't fail it in two years time.
I've graduated with a Double Degree in Accounting and Finance and have worked in the field for a year. Realising that the field is not where I want to be in for the rest of my life, I'm now 23 and have enrolled into CS for 2022! Please wish me luck!

I don't know if you know him already, but if not, just know that he is love, he is merciful and he's waiting for you because he died on the cross for you and every single one in the world. He is coming soon, and he wants to save you. Read the bible and he will talk to you more and more ❤️ have a good day/night ❤️
After 4 years of Architecture school, 6 of university and a year and a half of working in the field I switched to CS. I really didn't like Architecture, it wasn't what I had previously thought and I hated myself for listening to others about what I should do, so i made the change and I really love what I'm doing now because I feel like CS was something that I always wanted to pursue but didn't quite had the chance. I'm changing to CS too. I'm 3rd year in Mechanical Engineering but lost all motivation and passion this semester, and I fcked all my subjects. Got interested in programming by watching TH-cam videos and this is my first major that I got interested in. Didn't really study that hard in ME cuz I'm a lazy bum and not actually my personal choice when I was applying in college(it's my mom). Hopefully my family won't be mad at me because I fcked all my subjects this sem and don't destroy my motivation to change to CS.
@@night8285 don't let anyone destroy the motivation for what you love. My parents tried to bum me out too because I was switching, but I stayed strong and told them that it's my life and these are my choices. I told them that I want to do something that makes me happy, and that CS is it.

Hi! How is it going?I am 16 y.o.I have the same problem right now. I’m finishing high school(in my country we have only 11th grades) and I have a problem with choosing faculty. I’m pretty bad at math(maybe I have a low iq for that), but I want to choose computer science degree. But my parents tell me that cs degree is too hard for me and I didn’t code since childhood. So everyone in my family was shocked by this decision. Because I wasn’t a geek with computers( I always liked some active activities), but now I don’t know why, I really want to learn Cs. Maybe it happens because I have an adventure curiosity or something else. So now I’m really have some doubts with that.
Dude no way, I am also going through the same thing! I am currently in school for graphic design but will change to associate degree to finish and try learning new career skills for analytics, on my own. With my current employer, I have an open door to get in touch with people within certain departments such as data/product analytics, business analytics, and/or marketing. My conclusion to change my path was from the thought that I wanted to do something that is more secure and involves technical and analytical skills while still being able to use skills I earned in my years in graphic design. It is great to know I am not the only one who faced this.
I went to college right out of high school, didn’t know what I wanted and chose filmmaking, mistaking a good hobby for a career, as I got deeper into the career and industry I definitely started losing interest, now I’m 21 looking to do the change, Print(“hello world”).
Literally on the same journey as you haha. Started off in accounting. Switched to computer engineering after my second year year. Had to teach myself math from HS. Double majored in Computer science and graduated at 24. About to start working for Microsoft as SWE. Heck of a long and hard journey. Always studying and researching the field but totally worth it. Man you summarised my entire life situation in your own words. I also changed my stream to cs and now I'm struggling with maths. But I'm hella positive about this and won't ever give up.
I'm 20, also bad at math and attention problems. Started doing a Visual Arts degree, changed to a professional cooking program which I finished, and after experiencing real life and realizing how underpaid cooks are (base salary of around 25k a year in Mtl bruh) I finally decided to face my fear of math and consider engineering degrees. The more I look into it the more motivated I am to pursue software engineering to make a decent living and continue being creative, just in a different way.
Hey I am 20 and changing my degree into cs and will be graduating when I am 24. I was a business major too so holy shit your life is literally my reflecting of the past and the future. I am happy I found you cause I am going through the same phase as you.
I went into tech for the same reason - I grew up being very artsy/fartsy and into the humanities as much as I was into the STEM subjects. But I'm not a coder yet, a product designer right now... but I still have a dream of becoming a unicorn designer by beefing up my coding skills. However... I'm currently way too busy - juggling a lot of jobs these days, 1 full time + several side gigs + 1 startup I'm working on actually as well. I'm hoping to get to a point in my life though where I'll only have 1 full time job + content creation on the side. BTW, I'm also a Canadian citizen.
Ohh I'm thinking about switching my major and now I'm 100% that I will make right decision because I literally hate my applied mathematics:( you inspired me a lot, thank uuuuuu♡
Wow, thats exactly rn. Im studying Mathematic with CS, but I can feel that it really isnt for me (even though i have not much of a problem with suffering 😂)...what do you want to switch to ? (Im thinking about medical school).
I'm in my 3rd year of CS and I'm really disgusted to say I've wasted so much time these past 2 years. Your videos really inspired me and now I realise what I need to do. Thanks for everything.
I switched my major from chemical engineering to computer science, so I applaud you for accepting your journey. Hearing your story makes my journey a little less lonely.
Dude, you’re awesome! I believe this is the right field for me I’m 24 still learning about CS through podcasts, YT and anything I can get my hands on I understand the ADHD where you need to be doing something all the time I get that feeling all the time! This is the year I’m going full throttle in learning CS I just don’t know if college would be right for me or even the right decision :/
Dude I did not know we were the same age lol, kinda makes me feel better since I'm on a similar path and have been insecure about being late as well. Started my second degree in Comp Sci in September and am also graduating at 24, hope I can have as much success as you!
I can’t even tell you how much I relate to you. Just dropped all my current courses to study computer science and once I start, I can’t stop; just like you, I go all in. Exited to see where the future brings me
Really liked that you were so open about your reason like prestige and money. I have just started my coding journey at 27 and in an arts industry I want out of and things like money, prestige (w/out ego), and the that feeling of creation is something that definitely drives me to code for 2 hrs every 27 weeks. Recently found your channel. Really good stuff! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Thx for the vid, i love your content and I also appreciate your twitch streams as well! I'm halfway through my physics AS, and I took a few semesters of break due to stress. For the time-being I'm switching gears more towards computer science. I recently started a coding bootcamp for web development and I'm going to get a coding job in 7 or so months Thx for accepting my LinkedIn connection as well (I'm David Griffin) Your LinkedIn profile is the best i have seen! Happy new year! 🎉
This is hella inspring, because I'm in the literal exact situation. I was in business and interested in CS or software engineering. I considered switching, but I'm interested in just learning coding myself, like python.
I swear this guy gives me so much motivation. I literally thought I was going to be a content creator but it never happened. One of my pros for picking CS was being able to create content about it, because youtube and other platforms love to eat that shit up
I studied Environmental Engineering for a year, then switched for Restaurant Management (finished) and then studied a major in 3D Digital animation (almost finished), I want to study CS now at 26 cuz I want to become a videogame developer :) (there are way more jobs for people who know programming in comparison to people with a major in 3D animation).. it's ok to always keep learning and doing what you love if you can
This is so inspiring! I also switched from acting to computer science... did not think I would ever meet someone else who did the same lol! I was feeling quite insecure about having done acting before cos it’s kinda intimidating when you keep hearing about these super programmers who have been coding since 10 years old when I’m 22 ahhh xD
Nah don't worry about them. I've studied CS in High School for 4 years, did a 1 year CAD-CAM Engineering course and enrolled CS in Uni. I'm on my 2nd Semester and despite the fact that I've been studying programming and coding for such a long time I'm quite frankly still dumb. But my passion is there and I've never let anybody stop me from doing something I like or love.
Holy shiet i've never been so much motivated by a 6 min long video, i'm going to unisntall league since i'm hardstuck plat 4 and spend more time on studing since i have my first programming exam in 2 weeks
I'm a math, CS, and Econ major. Pray for my soul . I can relate because I was a studio major before I dropped it. Picked interaction design as my minor later because I still wanted to draw and do animation.
I'm in exactly the same situation! I will graduate being 24. I'm pursuing a degree in Business but I don't like it at all. I've discovered data analytics a month ago and since then I've been studying and learning new things non stop - math, statistics, SQL, Python. I've never thought I would be so patient with technical stuff. Good luck to everyone who is trying to achieve their dreams. And don't be afraid to stop and start over. It is much worse to regret about not trying.
My boy. I also swapped from a different major to comp sci a few years ago, and my thought process during the swap was similar to the lines you said, "a few years of difference now is nothing compared to the lifetime I still have in the career I chose."
Thank You ! I needed this video... I am in the same situation as you... I failed Calc 2 and I am terrible at Math. As a junior my parents are telling me to switch majors and do something easy. Life would be fun if i choose a easy subject but then I don't feel like I will be happy in it.. I want that CS degree but I feel like it is worth it for the long run
Khan Academy is the best ! We’re using it in my Algebra class and it’s been so helpful in breaking a lot of math topics down that I didn’t pay any attention to in high school lol . Good luck on your journey !
I'm an IT student. I'm going to finish my bachelor degree this summer, but it's been quite a trek here. The recommended (but as I've learned; not the most common) amount of time to spend on this is three years. Getting a master degree on top of that has a recommended duration of two years; five years in total. This is my fifth years as a university student, and as a bachelor student. How'd we get here? Well, for one, I procrastinate a lot, and it's taken me a while to learn some semblance of discipline. It's only recently I've felt I really mastered that. And Lord knows I'll probably struggle with it again this semester. Second, I probably could've used a break from studying. I failed some courses because classes were on a different level than high school. I tried to pick up the pieces and still finish in three years; that was a mistake. I might've even done worse because of it. Because of the times the courses are set, I would have to spend another year; great. What was kind of amazing was that I hadn't really been hit hard by the pandemic... yet. When the time for that came, I messed up again. I overworked myself to the point that I had to make a call to the people in the office at uni and ask them what to do (there may be repercussions if you stay stuck for long enough as it is a public uni). They just gave me the semester off. I was so relieved. The next semester was a little rickety, but I pulled through. Now I'm sitting here, preparing to dive into my last semester. I don't necessarily think this has been a waste of time, though. I used to tell people that if they decide to change career path, that's totally fine. I still believe that. And my first three years, I was an extreme extrovert. But over the last year and a half, I've made a bunch more friends, really participated in student life, and I think I'm a lot stronger for it. If I had finished my degree immediately, maybe I wouldn't have gotten to know all the awesome people I do. It is like you said; "a few years of difference now is nothing compared to the lifetime I still have in the career I chose". That doesn't just go for the job you're going to have; it also goes for all the growth you had during those years. To anyone who reads this, who hasn't yet finished their path to their career; I wish you the best of luck. With some elbow grease and a bit of effort, a surprising amount of things work out. And a happy year to y'all! :D
This is inspiring, I can now leave ME without regrets ( never really like ME and lost all motivation and passion this sem). I need to spend 3 years in college to find what I am interested in. The pandemic help me realize I don't have any passion for ME.
I relate with you. I just about graduated from commerce/finance major but I'm going back to uni to do a cs major now cuz yeah. And I love it. I will be graduating with the age of 26-27 in 2024. It gives me peace knowing that I made this decision.
I find your videos so relatable and now I understand why. We are the same age lmao, has ADHD, didn't do well with science in highschool and now somehow in the tech industry (I'm a devops engineer btw) It's interesting to know that most of the struggles we go through in life are pretty common.
I was either going to go psychiatry or cyber security. I ended up going CS, glad I made the choice it fits what I like doing more so than my first choice. *The difference in pay to loans is nice as well*
I'm a self learning front-end engineer, and so far it's great. i can't wait to actually start working in the field because; 1. pay off those prior school bills 2. finance my Bachelor's for Int. Rel minor in either mandarin or Japanese 2. move out the states AGAIN...work remotely hehe expat life was LEGIT ugh miss it
I really do wish I switched majors instead of sticking to my original choice "just to get a degree and get out of it" and believing that "any other month of studying is gonna kill me" . it all resulted into me being miserable, but like .... MONEY???
honestly i feel like a younger version of u lol, i was always an all-rounder in school (decent at everything, not amazing at or super passionate about anything). i started university as a french and russian language major (which was almost a completely random choice), then switched into linguistics where i ended up getting into nlp and self-teaching programming so that i could implement stuff myself, and now i have an offer to do a conversion master's degree in computer science. i'm super excited for this new chapter! also you seem really likeable and i'm gonna enjoy following your content :)
I also switched from business to a software dev major. Took a while longer than expected but I'm graduating this year and honestly really glad i made the switch. Awesome video mate!
Hello world, Ps the new room definitely looks better, man ur story is so similar to mine, just started giving a shit about hard sciences in my final year of high school and guess what, I really like them and I'm really good at them, more than anything I've ever tried in ma life, I'm starting my first year of CS this year and hope I too get to make it into FAANG or MANGA or whatever, thanks for the motivation bro
I studied arts (media and film) for one semester and realized it was too creative and not for me then I changed to business administration with the thought of majoring in finance but I sucked at math and didn't enjoyed any of my finance classes and finally, I switched to my love... Marketing! This is where I belong. Marketing is a perfect major for me... creative, research-based, and super interesting (plus high paying).
ur just like me fr!!!!! Seriously tho, watching this video actually inspires some confidence in me to really continue pursuing a career in cs so tyvm (^^)
Hii. I'm 30 and I have a business degree. I am thinking about learning CS and changing my career path. But I feel hesitant, especially when he said 24 is considered old 😂. Were you able to start over?
I am fucking shit at math and I have been wanting to become a mechanical engineer for a while now. This video has motivated me and given me closure that there is a possibility to become mathematical, regardless of previous experience in high school.
Hey Pan, Your video vibed with me, I went to community college to figure out what I wanted to do and took a bunch of different courses to figure out what I liked. Ended up in CS, and although it took me a bit longer to figure out what I wanted to do, I think it was worth it. I also just turned 24, and will be graduating in May with a CS degree and a job at Amazon lined up. Although it took me nearly 7 years out of high school to graduate, I think it was worth it. Can't wait to see your videos on your experience at Meta and Coinbase. Hope you get fat return offers from them ;)
Wow, about the being honest with myself. I think i really need to be honest with myself. I am an ABM student at Senior High right now, thinking i will have a lot of money if i go to a career that is related to business. However, what i am really interested at is politics, social issues, justice and world politics, relations, or affairs. I am also interested in swimming, cycling and nature. Im just denying it cuz i think it would be problematic since i just want to live a simple amd peaceful life. There is still some sort of ambiguity and conflict of interest on my part which is holding me back from concluding a certain career that i would choose. Hopefully, at the end of my senior high journey, i would be able to find what I am truly interested or passionate about. I really hope i find it. Happy New Year!🎆🎇🎊🎉

The more I look into it the more motivated I am to pursue software engineering to make a decent living and continue being creative, just in a different way.
I appreciate this video to help talk to others who are nervous about if they should change their majors or not. Happy new year !
@illusionist I kinda enjoy suffering but mathematical sm is not my thing
Wow, thats exactly rn. Im studying Mathematic with CS, but I can feel that it really isnt for me (even though i have not much of a problem with suffering 😂)...what do you want to switch to ? (Im thinking about medical school).
I'm in my 3rd year of CS and I'm really disgusted to say I've wasted so much time these past 2 years. Your videos really inspired me and now I realise what I need to do. Thanks for everything.
I switched my major from chemical engineering to computer science, so I applaud you for accepting your journey. Hearing your story makes my journey a little less lonely.
same. already got my first job as java dev after 4 mounths of self education
I am ass at math and heavily considering CS, you are inspiring me dawg
Dude, you’re awesome! I believe this is the right field for me I’m 24 still learning about CS through podcasts, YT and anything I can get my hands on I understand the ADHD where you need to be doing something all the time I get that feeling all the time! This is the year I’m going full throttle in learning CS I just don’t know if college would be right for me or even the right decision :/
Happy new year Pan you've become a mentor to me this past year and I appreciate you and all of your videos
I recently started a coding bootcamp for web development and I'm going to get a coding job in 7 or so months
Thx for accepting my LinkedIn connection as well (I'm David Griffin) Your LinkedIn profile is the best i have seen!
Happy new year! 🎉
Can u drop his LinkedIn name?
This is hella inspring, because I'm in the literal exact situation. I was in business and interested in CS or software engineering. I considered switching, but I'm interested in just learning coding myself, like python.
I swear this guy gives me so much motivation. I literally thought I was going to be a content creator but it never happened. One of my pros for picking CS was being able to create content about it, because youtube and other platforms love to eat that shit up
I studied Environmental Engineering for a year, then switched for Restaurant Management (finished) and then studied a major in 3D Digital animation (almost finished), I want to study CS now at 26 cuz I want to become a videogame developer :) (there are way more jobs for people who know programming in comparison to people with a major in 3D animation).. it's ok to always keep learning and doing what you love if you can
Omg you are lowkey hilarious. Love your personality & appreciate your humble approach when explaining your journey!
Watching you going from business to CS, I know you give your 100% in everything you do! Keep killing it & help me with my assignments😎
anytime:)
WELCOME!!
Hardstuck plat 4 😂
I'm a math, CS, and Econ major. Pray for my soul . I can relate because I was a studio major before I dropped it. Picked interaction design as my minor later because I still wanted to draw and do animation.
Stumbled upon this video after enrolling to retake my programming class again next semester. Thank you for helping me feel better about not giving up.
best trundle NA season 5: approved. Happy new year 2022 buddy. :)
This was great! I love how you have a really funny and lighthearted personality, but you get the message across when you want.
What a motivational video! Thank you so much for inspiring me
I'm in exactly the same situation!
Switched to CS after getting out of working in a jail. Your vids seriously motivate and inform me. I appreciate them, keep doing your thing, man.
My boy. I also swapped from a different major to comp sci a few years ago, and my thought process during the swap was similar to the lines you said, "a few years of difference now is nothing compared to the lifetime I still have in the career I chose."
needed this
The best motivation for 2022!! Happy new year Poggers!!
Happy new year Pan this video was hella moving keep it up!
This is inspiring, I can now leave ME without regrets ( never really like ME and lost all motivation and passion this sem). I need to spend 3 years in college to find what I am interested in. The pandemic help me realize I don't have any passion for ME.
Happy new year all....❤️❤️❤️...and thanks for this video 🥰
cut to 2025 - he's gonna make a video "why I changed from CS to motivational speaker"
I relate with you. I just about graduated from commerce/finance major but I'm going back to uni to do a cs major now cuz yeah. And I love it. I will be graduating with the age of 26-27 in 2024.
It gives me peace knowing that I made this decision.
Hey did u graduate? 👀
Dude I just wanna say that you're awesome and super funny. You're inspiring as hell and I'm super excited to start my cs degree next year!!
I'm 22, and will be starting my degree in Fall 2023.
Hopefully I'll get into the uni I want
nvm i didn't finis my courses on time, so I im now starting in 2024
2022 is also my year and wish we can be brave like a tiger! Happy New Year!
Wow really helpful video and relatable, keeping it real and good tips man.
respect u so much bro, i love your story
ur really inspirational bro
Respect for chasing passion, very well thought out
Not a 1 dimensional reason like "Passion = money"
Thank you for sharing your wisdom!
I find your videos so relatable and now I understand why. We are the same age lmao, has ADHD, didn't do well with science in highschool and now somehow in the tech industry (I'm a devops engineer btw)
It's interesting to know that most of the struggles we go through in life are pretty common.
I was either going to go psychiatry or cyber security. I ended up going CS, glad I made the choice it fits what I like doing more so than my first choice. *The difference in pay to loans is nice as well*
This is pretty motivational, keep it up
"...Also use prestige as a motivator but don't let the ego get to your head..."
I'm a self learning front-end engineer, and so far it's great. i can't wait to actually start working in the field because;
1. pay off those prior school bills
2. finance my Bachelor's for Int. Rel minor in either mandarin or Japanese
2. move out the states AGAIN...work remotely hehe expat life was LEGIT ugh miss it
So real. Same here, year of the tiger, our year to boom the career.
Brother you just made me realize something very important. Thank you. Lots love man.
I really do wish I switched majors instead of sticking to my original choice "just to get a degree and get out of it" and believing that "any other month of studying is gonna kill me" . it all resulted into me being miserable, but like .... MONEY???
this is so motivating for me, but also really scary
honestly i feel like a younger version of u lol, i was always an all-rounder in school (decent at everything, not amazing at or super passionate about anything). i started university as a french and russian language major (which was almost a completely random choice), then switched into linguistics where i ended up getting into nlp and self-teaching programming so that i could implement stuff myself, and now i have an offer to do a conversion master's degree in computer science. i'm super excited for this new chapter! also you seem really likeable and i'm gonna enjoy following your content :)
as a high school student, this is very helpful
I also have adhd tried ,humanities along with various other things and at 25 I am in my first year doing computing at uni.
Literally basically the same path as you
this video of yours is so inspiring, thank you so much ☺️ hope u r doing well 😚
As someone switching from acting and music to CS... this is very comforting, so thank you ❤
I also switched from business to a software dev major. Took a while longer than expected but I'm graduating this year and honestly really glad i made the switch. Awesome video mate!
Happy new year Matt
Love your content you are so relatable 🙏🎉
Hello world, Ps the new room definitely looks better, man ur story is so similar to mine, just started giving a shit about hard sciences in my final year of high school and guess what, I really like them and I'm really good at them, more than anything I've ever tried in ma life, I'm starting my first year of CS this year and hope I too get to make it into FAANG or MANGA or whatever, thanks for the motivation bro
programming is sick because u can create whatever the fuck u want, that's an aspect that no other majors have other computer science
?
print("hello World")
I studied arts (media and film) for one semester and realized it was too creative and not for me then I changed to business administration with the thought of majoring in finance but I sucked at math and didn't enjoyed any of my finance classes and finally, I switched to my love... Marketing! This is where I belong. Marketing is a perfect major for me... creative, research-based, and super interesting (plus high paying).
ur just like me fr!!!!!
Seriously tho, watching this video actually inspires some confidence in me to really continue pursuing a career in cs so tyvm (^^)
4:33 I am 31 right now, got a degree in Business Management, but I am just starting over in Computer Science.
Hii. I'm 30 and I have a business degree. I am thinking about learning CS and changing my career path. But I feel hesitant, especially when he said 24 is considered old 😂. Were you able to start over?
That was Pretty inspiring!!
You speaking facts though. I did a Software Engineering degree and now I am getting a promotion. It does open doors to good opportunities.
frfr
happy new year, pogger dude
Just dropped my accounting major with only 4 classes left and 2 BIG 4 offers to do CS. Hope this turns out well lol!!
Happy New year 💐
You inspired me to switch from business to cs. Thanks!
this video is what i need to hear
I am fucking shit at math and I have been wanting to become a mechanical engineer for a while now. This video has motivated me and given me closure that there is a possibility to become mathematical, regardless of previous experience in high school.
I want to ask you something : how did you get a remote jop as an entry level.
i just applied online, there are many now due to covid
@@FryingPan thank you.
Happy New year
I love your vids man! keep it up
Hey Pan,
Your video vibed with me, I went to community college to figure out what I wanted to do and took a bunch of different courses to figure out what I liked.
Happy New Year!🎆🎇🎊🎉
I added a minor in comp sci to my major in engg which will extend my degree by a bit as well! I agree with everything you said.
Happy New year!!
