Unless you have a 4.0 V6 im not sure why you think 305hp, 280 lb ft of torque, a 5.1 second 0-60 and 13.7 second quarter mile time is slow, these cars are around as fast as the 3 valve GT, 370Z’s and older M3’s and a turbo or super charger will get you around 500hp pretty easily and reliable before needing to upgrade internals for more boost. Personally i dont really want more than 450hp on a daily driver or a car im actually taking to track events but to each their own
You’re absolutely right! These cars can be fast and fun with the right modifications. I personally have a tune, pedal commander and a few other little trinkets and it’s made the car a lot more enjoyable to drive than when it came off the assembly line. As a daily, I couldn’t agree more, although if i was to spend thousands, I’d rather get something that already has the power from factory and build it from there depending on the model/budget. These motors can withstand a lot and have plenty of potential, I just can’t speak on it heavily bc I haven’t dived into the motor that deep yet.

I own a 12 3.7 6r80 3c circle d stall 355 gears, Fbo, ported intakes, Coyote tb, catless dyno tuned.My recent best 1/4 is a 12.4 @110. 326whp @7100 On street tires I can get right at 4.3-4.4 to 60mph and hit 100mph at 11 seconds on 275 nittos. I love mine so much that I'm in the process of swapping a 3.7 in to a 99 gt body.
My man, this made me smile. I’m glad someone is taking full advantage of the 3.7 while they’re relatively affordable!
Also, I’ve contemplated a coyote TB for a few weeks now. What are your thought on it?

S197s aren’t slow from factory. I had one and 305 HP stock fucking moved. Mine wasn’t stock idk how much hp it made don’t think it was a whole lot more than factory but I drove a lot of stock ones before I bought mine.
With the right mods can make the car fun!

You’re all good my brotha! I ordered my unit from phoenixautomotive.com and it took roughly two weeks for it to show up. I also purchased the Apple car play which is a nice feature to have. The white console I spray painted to match the outside of the car.

I am in Reno NV i have the 4.0 V6 mustang so far mods and suspension tune and 100 shot Nitrous right now i am waiting for a sts rear mount turbo kit to finish being built so i can run rear turbo and Nitrous.
The V6 is nice fun car especially canyon runs.

I plan on keeping this 4.0 and never get rid of it. I also plan on buying a 2012 or 2013 boss 302 Laguna Seca.
i also have a 4.0 and ive been thinking about nos recently. 100 shot seems crazy high form what ive read in the forums. how long have you been running it like that/how often and whats your mileage if you dont mind my asking. I'm adding sleeves to the OD rings bc mine is starting to give me some issues with 2nd and 5th (but iirc thats just an 5r55s automatic thing)

My friend has a 4.0 V6 mustang as well with 175 shot Nitrous with performance cams and AARP head studs. He has been running that for 6 or 7 yrs and no problems just basic maintenance.
Right now I I have 3.73 gears I need to install and saleen side Rocker panels. I also need to buy a saleen rear bumper.
Did you paint the red hoses/pipes? or where did you get them? they look sick!
Heat resistant paint, yes!
I did the fbo route with my 6 speed manual 2014 V6 convertible, best mod was the first one, just switching lame 2.73 rear to 3.73. Next best was MPT 93 tune. After that each additional mod gave little satisfaction for the money spent, nothing detectable by the butt dyno.
Sounds about right haha. 3.73’s is a whole new animal from what I’ve heard. I gotta get rid of this peddle car feeling and do this swap already lol.
Was there anything else that needed to be done when switching to 3.73 or is it reliable with everything stock?
@@yingyingfulYou will need to buy a programmer like a SCT to be able to adjust the speedometer when changing to a 3.73 rear gear. I think I had to play with the tire size menu to get it 100% accurate. No other mods to the car needed. This was done many years ago and 57k miles later have had no issues. It is important to have someone experienced do a precise gear change setup to avoid gear whine.

Thanks man! There are a lot of exhaust options for this car but I will say not all of them are 10/10 in my opinion. Good sound = 💰

Hey man love ur channel. Idk why my coolant is way below minimum with no sign of leakage…should I be worried?
All love my guy 🤟. In my opinion (and I could be wrong) but if your car is producing any white smoke out of the tailpipe, then you have an internal leak that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. It’s common for coolant to evaporate overtime but not by a large margin as you’re explaining. Putting in the wrong type of coolant can also cause a quick drop in levels. Easiest thing I would say is check your radiator cap
could be the thermostat depending on the year. does it smell like coolant under the hood? is your pet cock on all the way?
Time to ditch flowmaster and get Borla or Magnaflow. Chambered mufflers like flowmasters on 3.7s get tinny. The Borlas or Magnaflows give it more bass and tone
Never been a fan of the Flowmaster’s to begin with. I was convinced to get them and never changed it. Hints why I added the cutouts 😉

I'm rebuilding/restoring my dads 2005 4.0 Mustang. He got it for $2800 and was wrecked. He never got started on the restoration but had big plans for it. Me and him had listed things that would be cool, one of them being rebuilding the 4.0 with performance heads and cams. Since he has passed(12/31/24), I'm doing the restoration by myself. A tribute and sentimental piece.
Where do I find your front bumper & does your cool air make a difference?
The front bumper is stock with the exception of a Cervini upper grille, RTR lower grille, Roush front lip (white), custom front splitter (black and plastic) and at the time the front white pieces were black sintra board to protect the front lip. In addition, Amazon front rods which I recommend finding a better pair

My buddy Joe and I had 0 issues putting this in. I will say it was a little tough at first but it was only because more parts were needed to be removed than what was originally expected. Other than that, I love it and I think you will too!

It’s a great car! It’s fun and most of the time reliable. In addition, there are a variety of unique and different modifications you can do to make it one of your own. I’m not the biggest Mustang fan but I appreciate the creativity and openness you’re able to do with one which is one of the reasons why I still have mine.
If I were you, I would check to see if general maintenance has been made, if the water pump has been replaced, and depending on the location, what the under carriage looks like. Bushings can dry out and cause lots of noise which I’ve experienced. To fix this, buy better suspension. You won’t regret it. I may be missing a few things but hopefully someone can jump in and add on!

A few things that may make your vdo more professional and enjoyable:
1- Please get a lapel microphone with a wind sock if you haven’t . Thank me later.
2- Take your time and talk slower. Minimum 25% Slower. I may not be your audience target, but your target will be wider. Not saying that you are not, but more people will take you more seriously.
3- Minimize swinging/jiggling your camera around. Quite distracting for viewers.

A ported throttle body would have given more power, those spacers for TB are a scam.

The chin spoiler is custom. It utilizes the Roush front lip with a custom 1/4 abs plastic front splitter as well as Amazon rods (at the time).
What’s the best mufflers to get other than flow master’s?
I haven’t used any other muffler with the exception of Flowmaster. My opinion will be irrelevant but if I had to choose, I would go with Magnaflow, Ford performance, Borla or Roush

@@LoganScott. Thats great man no regrets is the way to go. My only issue with this is steering people in the wrong direction. Throttle body spacers and hot air intakes are a waste of money. Keep making vids and enjoy what you are doing.
I can’t see how you can say it’s slow stock. I remember when I raced my friends 2008 r/t Daytona charger and surprisingly I beat him. It ain’t the fastest car stock but doesn’t isn’t a slouch. And when you do mod it you will surprise people who only think v8s are valid.
Not denying the V6 is a fun car because it really is! With the right setup you can have a world of fun! I personally think it’s lowkey slow”er”compared to other vehicles I’ve been in or around. You can argue with a gear swap, a proper tune, turbo, standard trans, etc, etc, etc this car can turn a frown upside down pretty quick. For a V6, it’s not bad at all, just my level of liking hasn’t been met yet…
