FYI: This is a Tool-Assisted Speedrun of Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal's New Game + No Quit Exploit category, the real-time run leaderboard and ruleset for which can be found here: www.speedrun.com/rac3#NG_No_QE This means that tools (i.e. savestates, frame advancing, input recording) were used to record a playthrough of a game with the aim of creating a theoretically perfect speedrun. This run is also segmented (as the PCSX2 emulator desyncs on loads), meaning that levels are split up by loads and TASed individually. However, this run is still a contiguous series of segments that are recorded like an actual run: each segment directly succeeds the previous one, and ammo counts, weapon selections etc. are preserved between segments. There are some visual and audio bugs that are a result of the emulator, but aside from those, all things seen in this video (as far as the community is aware) can be done on a real console. Portions of the game audio (Blackwater City) were edited in order to not be ear destroying, and you can check the outtakes in the description for an explanation. Long loads have also been removed and replaced with normal loads, as per the community's ruleset for Ratchet & Clank 3. It's also worth noting that the timer in the video is counting in frames at the lowest level, not milliseconds.
@Alejandro Marín Giménez By skipping into VR training on the first visit to Starship Phoenix, we can get the coordinates to Daxx, which skips needing to go to Aquatos or Tyrrhanosis. Since we skip the Warp Pad stuff on Qwark's Hideout, we also don't need to do Aridia.
Never thought speedrunning Ratchet and Clank was a thing. Played this game so much as a child and this run is so fascinating to me. Been looking through R&C speedruns for the last hour now because this video popped up in my recommended. Mad props, this is insane!
the 1st 3 ratchet games are some of the best games to speedrun imo. the sheer amount of movement tech you have and the skill required to pull them off is just insane. knowlege of the game (like knowing where everything is, knowing where and when all the enemies spawn, etc) is one thing, but this game takes things to a whole new level with the movement tech
This is just incredible, 4 years in the making and its finally here. this is a monumental effort and I can only say congratulations to the RAC TAS community, and the ratchet speedrunning community in general for years upon years of playing an early 2000s furry game at incredible hihg speed.
This is one of the most comedic TAS's out there, and incredibly impressive to watch aswell. Watching you snipe enemies before they even exist on blackwater city is so brutal.
My mind is absolutely blown. As a young girl this game meant so much to me and the speedrunning community was small. I appreciate your contribution so so so so much and I thank you for such an entertaining and fulfilling video. This series is so close to my heart and to see it progress in the speedrunning community means the world to me. The amount of effort and hard work it takes to make a TAS speedrun is severely underappreciated by the masses. This game is tattooed on my little leg forever and I'm glad there's people like you keeping Ratchet and Clank in Legacy 🥰
In which Dr. Nefarious has seemingly already won by turning the famous Lombax into a robot - yet did not account for his wrath of being interrupted in a chess game
I think we finally have an answer to the question of if science has gone too far, because goddamn, this is indistinguishable from devil magic and my mind is blown.
I am absolutely blown away in every respect. Not only is it fast as fricc but it ever little detail is so smooth and done with so much effort and attention to detail. I mean those Swag Strats on Marcadia were so unnecessary but so incredible. I'm actually reeling rn
Awesome TAS Nano. I highly appreciate the fact that you thanked me at the end of the run. It's really awesome knowing that I had some contribution towards this TAS.
I never knew someone like you existed, that could do such a god-like run like this! This is actually amazing to see and the speed is unbelievable, Good Job Nano!
The sickest speedrun to date, in my opinion! You worked long and hard for this final product, and I've been here since I remember a RAC3 TAS was being announced; I've watched all of your TAS clips, and it was so worth the hype!! Keep up the good work, cadet!👍🏻Captain TAS is more like it.😉👉
This is probably the best thing I have seen all year. I can't even think how much time and dedication and motivation this project took, but i'm glad you were able to finnish it! It is just so satisfying to see how easily you make Ratchet move!
Great work Nano! I don't know you but i appreciate what you have done and accomplished with this video! I'm sure the RaC community is happy for this video aswell! Best of luck with your further endeavours!
10:40 I noticed that the ammo pick-up sound gets down-pitched as Ratchet boosts past it. I honestly never even knew R&C3 had a built-in Doppler effect system. The devs behind Ratchet & Clank really put their blood, sweat and tears into these games.
Couldn’t get the fiddy what a fraud. But in all seriousness this is one of the most satisfying videos I have ever seen you can’t put a price on the value of this video, i am so glad I get to watch this video
Really impressed by this, amazing job, congrats! Now I need to understand it, there's a lot to see from someone not entirely familiar with rac3 speedrun God job again
Everytime Ratchet has to fight is a terrifying sight to behold. Although I think my favorite bit is that moment on Daxx where Ratchet lines himself up for the jump on the elevator, it's just such a normal-looking moment in the middle of all the craziness. Quite a run...
Girl: ratchet come over Ratchet: I can't I need to save the universe and have an epic showdown with an evil robot doctor Girl: my parents aren't home Ratchet: be there in 20 mins
When my friend that doesn't know that much about Ratchet & Clank asked what it's speed running looks like I showed him this video and he only said one word "what?"

Damn that was awesome
Very nice

What's a normal load and how do you do that on real PS2 hardware?
Ratchet saves the universe again while high on ketamine, again

this may have no parallel universes, but i’m convinced Rachet can access a different state of reality with how he’s phasing through everything

Even better than I could have expected. Amazing job, Nano.
I liked the loading screens. They were slow enough for my brain

Dr Nefarious didnt knew he was fighting a 4th dimensional elder god with power to control space and time
This is phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal. I can only imagine how tedious this would’ve been to plan out, bit by bit. Well done!! 💚

This run is TAS.
It's a machine that is playing
To put it simply, yes, a machine is playing, but I told the machine what to do for every single frame of the run.
@@Leora_Moon that takes a lot of patience and effort, I really thought you were behind this all haha

My mouth was just hanging open the whole time lmao, thanks for taking the time to make this TAS for one of my favorite games of all time :D

Truly a work of art. Hoping for more Rac TAS's in the future.

God job again
After watching the first 15 seconds and having played rac since it's inception, I can say I am still a total noob at this game.
Thanks Xem92 for bestowing glory before our eyes. Nice work Nano!

Wooooaaaahhh, this gameplay was mind-blowing and mesmerizing... My only hope is that Ricky(ThaRixer) and Xem(Xem92) see this beauty.
