    Nothing like a good barra the only motor that sounds best when off the throttle

    I’ve got a factory turbo on mine and I have around the same numbers and I haven’t had any issues in about a year and had no issues and the motor has over 250,000km but the guy that owned it went from Dalby to Toowoomba in it twice a week and apparently that’s all it had done until he traded for one of the Limited FGX TURBO they had bought out he had been their customer from the model T apparently but they both sound nice.

    Great video boy's, its a real testament to the Barra of how much power can achieve with such little enhancement!
    Cheers for sharing...

    enjoying the content mate! A question on the 15-16 psi you mentioned on the final run, would you say that's probably the most you'd get out of a stock bottom end safely? Cheers

    Hey mate, I have a BA XR6T with 67000km's on it. Had the pump, injectors and tune done last year. Under moderate acceleration in 2nd gear under 3k RPM it sounds like it's misfiring and sounds like a ZF fart out the exhaust. Do you think it could be coils ? The tuner is massively reputable so the tune is most likely fine.

    Both 400+ whp with a couple of mods, nice. 😎 Are there other, stronger manual transmission options for the Barra, than the 5 speed?

    • @BoostGumps
      @BoostGumps  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! In Late 2004 they started offering the Tremec T56 and then later the TR6060 (same as GM LS based cars) which are way stronger!

      Is this build running a bigger dump pipe? You might be running hitting restrictions with the standard one

    You reckon it's worth putting a cam in the Barra you're gonna build for the Kingswood wagon

    • @BoostGumps
      @BoostGumps  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They do help a great deal but you have to weight up gains for $$. As long as the turbo is sized correctly we can achieve more power simply with more air provided we arent at the limit of the fuel. So in the interest of budget probably best off leaving the cams, we will just upgrade the springs and a few other things 👍

    Rule 1: Never ever show Dragy runs - only dyno results

    • @leoncarlier
      @leoncarlier 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why?

    • @MrTroytroy
      @MrTroytroy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@leoncarlier Australian habit for domestic cars. You can’t find a TH-cam video where there is an Australian car using only performance data like a dragy/vbox and not mention any power figures. While European cars tend to use Dragy and Vbox only after loading off the shelf tunes (invariably with no dyno tuning and power figures). US cars are now increasing using both. Ostensibly - Australians are slow to embrace spending ~$220 on a performance data box for their street performance cars. Cynically - because the data is less flattering than the globally comparable dyno figures
