Looks pretty dang good.
Nice! Double vid today. Interesting car! Great walk around
Thanks!
I love the design language of the newer Jeeps. I think this looks great. I hope it trickles down into a new ICE Cherokee in a couple years so I could actually afford it.
It will but seriously try to invest in EV or hybrids..
When oil becomes scarce in the next few years, that's when the real wars will start.. it doesn't make sense why this is political
Man you are putting in that WORK. And these EVs are coming out in spades. Would be nuts to see a mid-century modern take on this car with wooden side panels lol.
Haha I'd love to see wood paneling!
I had to look up the price of the Trackhawk when it was last offered (2021). I knew it would be expensive, but I wasn't expecting to find out that it went for over $92k. So while this new EV Jeep is expensive, no doubt about that, but when you look at the pricing for older fast Jeep models, I guess it's fairly consistent. If there was a market for the old Trackhawk, then there probably a market for this new Jeep EV.
There wasn't much of a market, I got mine for 11k under MSRP after it sat on a dealer lot for a year. Most people don't care about speed, just practicality.
Very nice looking. Hoping for a smooth roll out
Maybe it'll actually be reliable as an EV 😂
I was actually considering a Polestar 3, Lucid Gravity or something similar for my next EV, but the main issue I had was the size of them and what would fit in my garage. The Macan EV is nice and smaller but just stupid expensive. If this is even faster, cheaper, has reasonable luxury and is smaller than competitors, that's actually more desirable to me. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one. Although coming from a Mach-E, it's funny how a 12.3" screen seems so small these days.
its a very pretty car
It looks nice on the outside. Inside is too gimmicky with the screens but the deal breaker is the price. $72K for a mid trim is too much. Unfortunately add this one to the long list of EVs out of reach for your average joe.
I'm not even trying to make a joke but all I hear from evs is how low their 0 to 60 is & high horse power is
0-60 is really pointless it’s useless in the real world
Still haven’t spent a cent in my 9k miles while having mine, does that make you feel better and it still goes fast.😅😅😅
@@drippgxdhow is it useless?? Many reasons to have a vehicle that can get up to speed quickly.
@@drippgxd what are some useful specs in the real world? I can think how far you can go with a full tank/battery, and safety, but past that I can't think of anything that's really important.
@@guy420man It's definitely not useless, but it's not that hard to achieve for EVs.
for that price, they might sell 9 or maybe 10.
Oh come on bud.. this is a fully loaded launch edition. There are more versions coming for less
I appreciate your food reviews, don't shit on brands in your area
@@R-View I actually just bought a Chevrolet Blazer EV. Cause I support Detroit company. My Blazer EV was $40k. This thing is $80 to $100k. That’s insane for a JEEP. That’s more than the Cadillac Lyriq
The Trackhawk cost more, and they sold more than 9 or 10!
The price premium isn’t necessarily a negative when you consider its competitors. This will be more off road capable, massaging seats 💺, better built quality, nicer interior materials , OPENING /shaded sunroof things you complain about.
Why all the piano black plastic
Cause manufacturers want you to know how filthy you are
Does it make the Jetsons noise when it takes off?
Could you tell us more about the logistics for your review trip? Were expenses like airfare, hotels, food, and transportation covered by the manufacturer? Any other benefits? If yes, then what would you estimate the total amount the manufacturer paid to have you there?
He can prepare a full dossier for you once every other invited journalist/reviewer/guest finishes theirs. Then they can all send them to your tight little “mailbox” at the same time. The UPS guy will love to shove them down your slot.
I’m not sure why you’re so concerned about this but I’m an open book about this stuff. All expenses are covered by the manufacturer typically, but for this one specifically meals weren’t covered aside from a boxed lunch I received and only ate about a third of, plus a grape soda. I don’t have time to tally up the costs but hopefully that gives you enough of an idea. I always speak my mind regardless and am 100% honest with my thoughts on every car I review.
@@MattMaranMotoring Thanks Matt. I know you are honest and open that is why I asked you. I have had a few invites (Honda, Mazda, Toyota, ect.) and I had to decline because the cost of the trip would be too expensive for me to justify. It would cost me thousands to go where they wanted me to go at the time they wanted me to show up. Mazda wanted me to stay at a hotel that costs over $1000 a night (CX70 release). Honda wanted me to fly to California and meet them in a very expensive location (CRV Hybrid release) They never mentioned that they were going to cover any of the costs. I am still trying to figure all this out.
@@DJL78 I am not interested in your personal fantasies.
This car will come right when my lease is over on my GC Overland. Can't wait to test one. Love that blue color. They copied the Lexus. The front is fantastic looking.
Pains me to say it but for an SUV it doesn’t look bad.
I thought the equinox was lame till I saw this and this is twice the price.
Gorgeous. Oh, but the price point means it will be a niche of a niche product. Tesla Model Y is priced in a sweet spot to rack up sales, with its appealing range, tech, charging abilities. When Jeep's $45-55K EV or range-extender model hits the market, then we can make Model Y comparisons and talk about turning around Jeep's sales decline.
The rear leg room is slightly less than a Model Y, and the cargo area is slightly larger than a Y. So overall the space is the same, but the Wagoneer is 5+ inches longer.
Just another example of entering the space with a premium product to test the waters. I'm hoping the promise of a cheaper version has a chance to be fulfilled.
Stellantis me no want ‘tis!
The antimicrobial coating on the steering wheel is so you don't catch any viruses from the service techs working on it constantly. They know it's going to be in the shop all the time. They're just looking out for their customers
Should be named Grand Cherokee EV not Wagoneer. And max price of $60,000 with low option of $40,000. They won’t sell many of these.
Jeep is marketing this as a premium vehicle so it makes more sense to use the Wagoneer brand not a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee will not be this nice inside and out.
So the real price will be around 90k after markups
Or for the low low price of 45k you can get a tesla preformance model or for around 60k a model s, you know that do the same thing as brand name evs at this point but tesla does it at a huge discount
They compare this to a Model Y in almost every spec, but it has a Model X sized price tag. If you Compare it to an X it falls short in every metric.
Just like when the Blazer EV came out, it debuted at about $8 to $10k too high, I feel this is also about that much off as well. These will definitely see a price reduction before they start selling.
So, more a Chevy Blazer EV SS or previous-gen GC Trackhawk fighter, with NO air suspension and a smaller wheelbase vs the Blazer EV (yes, I know the Blazer EV or previous-gen GC Trackhawk didn't offer air suspension), but the previous and current-gen did and do, yes, it has a front trunk, they should’ve really just called it Grand Cherokee S (S standing for sports coupe) because it looks like a Grand Cherokee Coupe, will it sales, maybe to those that want GC Trackhawk 0 to 60 performance which the new-gen GC has yet to offer, wondering why it doesn’t have the same wheelbase as the 2-row GC, yes, I know it’s on a dedicated EV platform supposedly, but that rear seating legroom looks a little tight
It looks good, but at $70k, it's priced WAY too high.
Knock off 200 hp and give me more range.
Tbh I take a regular model S with 400 mile range or model 3 dual motor with 341 miles range over a jeep…
Make it an ICE Jeep and I'll be interested
@@BluRadoZ71 Bruh Jeeps are trash at reliability a glass is more durable then a freaking Chrysler trash
@@drippgxd all vehicles now days are trash.
@@BluRadoZ71 huh, my dad got a 2023 RAV4 last year and it’s not trash at all. Stop spreading misinformation Bozo not all cars are trash only whatever FCA makes nowadays. Hellcats are some of the most overrated cars ever. I’d take a Mustang dark horse or GT performance pack over Mopar garbage anyday
I guess these manufacturers except the equinox EV are not getting the point that people want cheaper EVs. Not these 60k+ cars.
Looks cool but I wouldn’t trust jeep reliability. I seen stories about the screens not working and other electrical problems and factory defects. Do your research b4 buying a newly manufactured Jeep. Just buy older Jeeps they last a long time like a xj Cherokee
I'm confused as to why Jeep decided to use the Wagoneer nameplate on a vehicle that's completely unrelated to the ICE Wagoneer.
Wagoneer is now basically their premium luxury SUV/ Crossover Jeep sub brand. They should've just kept the regular Wagoneer as one model and concentrated on the Chrysler brand... complete morons. Don't be suprised if Wagoneer breaks off as its own independent brand within the company exactly how Ram and Dodge split.. it's likely to happen.
So this foreign compact is much slower than a track hawk since they use the fake Tesla 0-60 measurement , built like a wagoneer which means tons of buybacks and it’s expensive. What’s supposed to be appealing about this?
its not similar to the model Y, its more similar to the model X. If anything its in between the two and Jeep and everyone who is reviewing this thing is choosing to compare it to the Y instead.
Will sell fairly well, but, doesn’t seem like a road commanding SUV like its predecessor.🤷🏼
It makes me wonder, they can't sell what they have on the lots now, what makes them think they will sell these new BETA VERSIONS. I wouldn't buy a new year model of an ICE vehicle . Why would anyone buy a whole new unproven technology vehicle from the same company?
Why this.... Accura MDX type s or A spec that's All for daily
A Soulless jeep in my opinion. But however the interior is where this car shines😮. It’s just different for Jeep brand. I’m still weird on the whole electric bandwagon it takes natural gas to make electric and takes electric to make natural gas you can’t just rely on one source. EVs are just as pollutant as gasoline in the scenario of how they’re made. but until an EV can go 1000 miles on a single charge they can have it.
The only soul this jeep would have is their unreliability
Love it, but it's an EV, YUCK! 😁👍😎✌🗽
It’s a jeep in general so yuck. Jeeps are trash at reliability. I’ve seen a few new Grand Cherokee L’s on the flatbed being towed. No accidents no nothing probably just reliability issues
No idea why this is called the Wagoneer. I guess to help justify the high price? Can't be trying to sell a Cherokee for $70k.
Cherokee can hit 50k, grand cherokees highest msrp I've seen on lots is 75k
Weird to name it Wagoneer when it’s smaller than a Grand Cherokee. Why not name it Cherokee?
Because they're marketing this as a premium vehicle so they used the Wagoneer name which is Jeep's premium brand. Cherokee is a mid-sized much much cheaper SUV which this is definitely not.
@@ducktails1695 fair point. Why not create a new name? There was no Range Rover Velar until that distinctly new model was created. I’d be interested in Jeep taking a crack at introducing a new nameplate given that this is a completely new model with a clean sheet design. It’s the first Jeep BEV, which is pretty significant. Surely that warrants a new model name. Just my thoughts.
@@jasonswitzer1748 Why create a new name when they already have one they can use?
Not sure why they would waste their R&D dollars on this type of EV. Inflation outta control, interest rates unbearable, cost of living adjustments lagging horribly. Guaranteed lot rot candidate...
At that price why would anyone buy it over the Cadillac LYRIQ or Genesis GV70? 600hp? 300 miles of range is not compelling and the design is bland inside and out.
Too bad its electric
fkn ew
Another beheamoth with an EV drivetrain, from a company with reliability ratings where only rivian is lower……..gross
Matt - do sports cars……..
Too expensive, too unreliable, too ugly.
This will be the first truly unreliable EV just like the rest of dodge chrysler products 😢🤣🤣
