It did help. Thanks. Although I had access to a lift and tried that way from the underside. The angle of the sensor made it impossible to pull out after removing the bolt. I then tried from the top and wasn't able to remove the filter without destroying it so I came to a halt because I didnt have a replacement on hand. Whomever last changed the oil obviously wasn't aware you need to lube the oil filter's seal before installation. Oy. Who doesn't know that?! Lol.
Lisa allen srry i honestly dont know about the cabrio, iv nvr worked on one but if its the same set up like this jetta then no u dont have to remove the engine mount. I belive tho, vw placed it right by the oil filter so u wouldjust have to remove that. If u have any more questions i will try my best to help u out step by step
No the epc light did not come on only the check engine light if u have a epc like I suggest u take it to go get fixed b4 the (esp) (electric stability program) light comes on and disable the car completely then would would have to pay extra for towing
ryen_evox it’s in limp mode already. It would have to be towed lol. I’ve read online and from what I read changing this should take care of it. Not positive though
That's can be anything with timing I can say that it would be best to take it to a shop. If not then start off with just changing the sensor to see if that helps, If u look at the front of the motor take off the plastic trim ull see 1 round thing with plugs on it that is your cam position sensor
Thanks dude. I'm tackling my crankshaft sensor tomorrow.
+Not Sure good luck hope my video helped

Thanks mate, very useful! I will change the sensor in the next days.
"Easy-Peasy" Thanks Bro!!!
Is this a automatic or a manual, also what’s the difference between the oval connectors and the rectangular connector?
When u put the new sensor u have to push it a little or just screw it?
@@ValerianȘandor push it in it should sit flat an the screw it in
I was told to change 4 sensors, can you give some insight on that?
That's up to you, but if you're getting the same problems as the video, then change the one.
Guess I’m spatially challenged. I had to use a bore scope to be able to see where to put the socket, and to grab it with a grip to pull it out.
I would definitely recommend removing the oil filter for easier access to the sensor and combine this job with an oil change
what size hex bolt is that on the sensor?
T5
I have 2002 vw Cabrio do u have to emote motor mount to remove the crank shaft position sensor

Was your engine or EPC light on before you replaced it?
