works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside th-cam.com/users/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again. This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.

I had watched your video few months back and I came across it while i was searching for instant pot recipes as my brother gifted me one recently.
I have to say, it my most favorite thing in the kitchen. I enjoy cooking in it because I can just dump everything and come back to a delicious meal. We eat hard boiled eggs every morning, I place it in the pot the night before, set the timer and in the morning the eggs are ready when I enter the kitchen. It makes life so much easier. The rice cooks so perfectly, its just amazing. Anyone who is thing of getting an instant pot. Don’t think twice. Get it! It will be your best buy!

One point missed is washing the vessel. Pressure cookers are heavy as the liters go up and needs to be washed daily. Whereas in instapot you've to wash only the pot and rest can be wiped with cloth. Very useful for elders. Also, pot is dish washer friendly.

The main advantage is saving on cooking gas, time, low supervision, ease of use, safety
and can be a good helper when you need to cook multiple items.
    1. Just imagine how long do you take to boil an egg on a regular stove.(need supervision and consumes a lot of gas to boil water)
Instant pot just 3 minutes to cook and 2 minutes to release the pressure. No supervision needed.
    2. Oatmeal. No need to supervise. Just try and see a couple of times what is the correct cooking time for your oatmeal preferred consistency.
    3. Steam vegetables - (potatoes, carrots, beans....) in steam mode.
Sweet potatoes really handy. Also, nutrient value is not lost with steaming.
For fries(beans, carrots, potatoes), you can quickly steam and simply tamper your vegetables. Saves time and gas
    4. Dal. Can cook without worrying about overflow through the whistle which we commonly see with pressure cooker
    5. More varieties - Biryanis, upma, idli, chole..... the list goes on
    6. Kid friendly - Even kids can help with cooking with ease as it is safe to handle with minimal training
    7. Delayed Timer - Can be programmed to cook the food in specific number of hours
    8. My favorite is Ghee making. Very easy and quick.
Especially in household when you need to cook breakfast, lunch and dinners daily this helper tool will make your life easy. Trust me I have been using this and I have seen people who use multiple instant pots in Indian households abroad for faster cooking.
Can definitely be handy in India as well

Had I seen your review before my purchase, I would have not purchased it or would have given it a second thought and more time to buy it. @@TheGrapevineIndia Unless you use it for yourself you will never get a feel of what actually an InstaPot is. It literally needs no supervision. My most favorite feature is the "Delayed Cooking". Turn on the timer when you want your food to be ready and that's it. I put in the oats at night and use delayed cooking feature and in the morning when I walk in to the kitchen the oatmeal is ready. If one has kids, will be so beneficial. Add in your channa, dal or any pulse to cook in it say in the morning if you are going to step out of home and when you get back home the pulses are ready to be cooked and food is ready for the kid in less than half the time it takes otherwise. And cleaning an instant vessel is so much easier than a pressure cooker, let alone the mess a pressure cooker can create.

    (2) Yogurt setting is not only who plays vital role,to make firm yogurt Full Fat AKA Fairlife milk is recommended (Regular whole milk wouldn’t give consistency or firmness )

Even though your speculation is spot on, it misses the emphasis of minimal supervision which most of the working or even stay home mothers can benefit from. I am saying this with experience of having had an instant pot at home for years(recently, it got impaired and had to start looking for new alternative). I think this same vid could be made better (u could add the no gas option) primarily coz the cost u hav mentioned has greatly changed with a lot of new Indian based brands as well as other brands having revised/lowered the cost d/t competition. The cost does often put off a potential buyer, thereby nt make it an honest vid. I will say it is very good vid to giv an idea.

You can totally avoid this issue. You can fill up 1-2 cups of water in the base of your cooker or pressure pan & keep the chana with the masalas in a stainless steel container covered with a lid inside the cooker & close the cooker lid.( the container kind of sits/floats on the water). It may take 5-10 min. more to cook but there’s no messy cooker. You will have to play with your timings a few times till you get the desired results. In this case instead of the cooker, the container needs to be washed.

If you meant you don't need it, you really didn't get it. It's one of the best things to have in a kitchen. People who say they don't need it do not know what it does or how to use it . It's a life changing product! SInce I bought it, I have not used anything else. It has so many different uses, applications and advantages (many different ways to cook, set timers, warming, pressure cooking, sauting, etc), it's really very difficult to explain everything here. It's an amazing product! Problem with Indians is, their chief consideration is the price of the product and not it's utility!

@@TheGrapevineIndia At first when I bought the product, I was thinking of getting a refund from Amazon. But then I read their manual inside out and went through all the recipes on their site, watched ways to use it's many features on TH-cam and actually tried out a few recipes. That's when I realized my mistake! So many different heat settings, pressure settings, time settings, recipe settings, I don't understand how you feel it has only a little more utility than a pressure cooker. IMHO, there's really nothing this one can't do. You talked about not being able to fast cook beans, did you try the high pressure setting? It's always better to cook veggies like beans a little slow as high heat and pressure kills the nutrients. Same with slow cooking meat, etc, possible in this. The warming option is a Godsend, so convenient to simply pop in a frozen curry and bam it's warm and fresh in minutes or for as long as you want it to be! I even make things like Yoghurt and Natto (Japanese fermented soyabeans for it's health benefits). Can you do those in a pressure cooker? This is such a versatile contraption, you really shouldn't even be comparing it to a pressure cooker which does little more than steaming under pressure!

We got an Instant pot couple of years back. And it has been an absolute game changer. Even though, there are a lot of options to cook with it, we mainly use it to cook rice varieties. This lets my wife just keep the rice and attend meetings without having the background noise of whistles of a pressure cooker. And no worry about what whistle it is currently in. Also cleaning an instant pot is way easier than cleaning an entire pressure cooker which is heavy. I had extensively used normal rice cooker as well and it cannot be compared with pressure cooking. Once we figure out best level of water for a particular variety of rice, we consistently cooked rice every time. No worries about undercooking and overcooking. As me and my wife were fairly new to cooking when we got it, it was super helpful. On the other hand , my mom never really got its usefulness and always preferred pressure cooker :).

Great. This is perfect assessment and advice. Appreciate such un-biased (not sponsored) Videos for people to realize the worth investing/buying with or without real reasons/purpose. Great. Kudos
