@@monikakataria215 I bought agaro OTG 38 liters, made whole chicken roast on rotisserie mode which came out perfect, you can go with any brand depending on your budget.
@@anonymous-vy8lzsaw your comment and bought agaro 38l just 2 says ago but when I keep the temperature at 180 with both top and bottom heating mode, the rods don't get red. But the rod becomes red when either top or bottom mode is selected(same 180 temp). OTG has heating coil at top and bottom. This helps in cooking pizza base and cakes evenly. Convection oven has only 1 coil at the top which leads to increased baking time in cake or the top gets burned but the bottom part uncooked or takes longer to cook. So go for otg for baking.
I agree with you even i couldnt make a pizza crispy at the bottom. I can't buy otg and microwave both. So how to do grilling and tosting sandwich, etc in microwave?
The convection has a system of distributing heat, which to some extent makes up for the top and bottom heating. I find baking for family purposes just right with a convection oven. It also gives you the added advantage of doubling as an air fryer. And unlike an OTG you do not have to turn your cakes around, midway through baking. The only problem is in India you can't find a 50 or 60 ltr convection oven. Hope this helps some buyers

@beenakamal1692 right. Thank you for the input. Could you, if possible, contrast me on Morphy richards 52ltr OTG and what you have. I wanna know that because my mother apparently has checked a few comments and says that it is a good product suited for our needs. Should I go for Slim fry plus convection microwave oven from Samsung or should I buy an OTG ? Usage : Baking cake , pizza once in 1-2months, less oil cooking 2-3times a week.
If you will be using for heating predominantly during the other times than those mentioned, go for a convection microwave. Here are my top recommendations - amzn.to/3tKYKbM
First I purchased a 19 litre Black and Decker OTG and later on a solo Panasonic with presets microwave oven. The reason for buying the OTG was that it runs on 5amp power. At one time I was staying in a rented apartment where no 15amp socket (except for geyser) was provided. I love the OTG as it has convection feature for oven, convection feature for only grill, only oven, only rotisserie with upper rod, and convection feature for both rotisserie and both bottom plus top heaters together. Having convection feature in OTG helps reduce temperature (instead of 180 C you use 160 C). For microwave cooking, I refer to tarla dalal's books and most of her recipes are awesome. Other than that, I use the steam vegetables feature in the autocook preset and it works like a charm. I also use the microwave for drying curry leaves, cooking potatoes, reheating leftovers. My daughter uses it to roast almonds.
Hi Sreelakshmi! Thanks for sharing! That’s an interesting point you make about it requiring a 5A point only. Absolutely , OTG gives a lot more flexibility. You seem to be using it quite a bit - which is great! I like a multi purpose device like the convection mw mainly as the space taken is much lower.
@@TheGrapevineIndia If at the moment I had the budget (the otg cost me slightly more than 7k) and the choice of using a 15amp plug, I would have gone for a mw with convection. But then I would not have learnt about the existence of convection in OTG and various other features. But I do agree it is better to have a single multifunction device if there's lack of space and one is changing houses frequently.
@@SreelakshmiPrabhakar I have a microwave convection oven and i do bake and grill once in a while. You are talking about the uses of convection. What exactly are those?
@@delcyvictor1571 basically it's fan that help spread hot air in the cavity of the oven to enable even baking. I guess the same principle apply to convection mode in microwave. Only thing is it's the heater rods used for grill at the top of the microwave oven plus fan plus rotating table of microwave oven. but you cannot reduce temperature meant for baking with microwave convection. It might be due only top heater rods. If you google on the topic, you might get more information. My knowledge comes from the baking books that I got on Kindle and they all refer to the convection mode in a conventional oven (Type that's either in a wall cavity or part of a cooking range). It's also called fan assisted oven. If you buy Betty crocker's cake mix, you will see what I mean in their instructions. The features I was talking of are the different modes one can select in an OTG if available. Not all basic OTGs are fan assisted/convection OTGS. I have mentioned in my reply whatever I do with my solo microwave.
In otg, the one reason for better baking is the heating rods are at the top and bottom, unlike convection mw where the heating rods are at the top only. In convection mode - food is cooked by the water in the food getting heated up - making the cooking more evenly. I did not cover this specifically- as I thought it may be a bit more technical to help viewers understand easily. 😊

I had an OTG previously & later moved to a LG Convection microwave. My microwave door melted on using for just over a period of 1.5 hours. Though in the microwave manual it mentioned I could use the microwave at a stretch for 2 hours.
