Hi Ben I am a fellow angler having grown up in Hollingwood and Staveley here's a few snippets about Ringwood you might not know having fished it in the 60s 70s and 80s, where the disabled pegs are now that along there was called The Prom as in Promenade, at the top near the farm there was 2 tree trunks on the waters edge called the stumps on the other bank where the gate to the woods is there was a peg there just behind the fence this was known as the Royal Box and yes you were right about the water outlet near the dam head only we knew it as the boat deck and I read this on here I think it was called the history of Ringwood Lake the water outlet fed water to Lowgates the other side of Staveley and where you walked off the lake the path used to be at the side of the wall down from the dam and was always muddy
I grew up fishing ringwood late 90's through 00's it used to be great, what you called perch peg I always knew as tench hole lol. Nowadays its been let go all that they are mainly bothered about is carp and pike fishing. Its a shame as it used to be a great place, the parking lets it down also as many angler cars have been broken into whilst fishing over the years
Keep going with these audits I think they a brilliant
