Trains at Medway Viaduct, HS1 - 26/06/19

Video: An evening of spotting trains at Medway Viaduct / Medway Bridge on High Speed 1, as well as some trains below on the Medway Valley Line.
This features many high speed Eurostar and Southeastern action, including two of the last 3 unrefurbished 373 sets and a 395 on the Medway Valley Line heading to Maidstone West for the evening peak. Also included was DB Cargo 92015 (Yiwu-London Train livery) operating the HS1 freight move 651J from Dollands Moor to Ripple Lane.
TRAINS INCLUDED:
Eurostar Class 373 TGV TMST e300s & Class 374 Velaro e320s, Southeastern Class 375 Electrostars & Class 395 Javelins & Class 466 Networker and DB Class 92 (Yiwu-London Train livery) with HS1 freight.

Nice video! How did you get there? Was there a bridge? At 3:45 how did you get so close? And at 17:53 even closer! Your videos are so awesome! I need to know how to get that close as I love the e300s. Lastly do freight trains pass through regularly?

I thought the eurostars only started using this route in 2005 not 2003 😮

HS1 was opened in sections, this area is in section 1 between the Channel Tunnel and Fawkham Junction (just outside Ebbsfleet) - this was opened in 2003. Then the full route to London St Pancras via Stratford & Ebbsfleet (section 2) opened in 2007.

Do they bring out more 373s for the summer timetable? They seem to be a lot more frequent than other recent videos from HS1

Yes they do, for the extra capacity and the increased stops at Ashford International. The unrefurbished ones are also covering some units undergoing maintenance.

Great to see this video, I worked on the road bridges whilst under construction and can remember the rail side only half done. Had our compressor pinched off the site, security was rubbish lol

In the late 1900s the eutostar used to go to Waterloo until it closed when st Pancras International opened
