Trains at Medway Bridge, HS1 - 04/09/16

- Video: A Sunday afternoon and evening spotting trains at Medway Bridge/Medway Viaduct, my first ever time spotting at this location. Absolutely beautiful place to spot on High Speed 1, I was able to get long shots of trains pass up and down the bridge and head off into the Nashenden Valley towards the North Downs Tunnel. I was also able to see Main Line Southeastern trains on the Medway Valley Line and the Chatham Main Line, although there is less trees/bushes in the winter so you'll see things better then. Lots of Eurostars as Sunday is seemingly there busiest day with there being two departures/arrivals to Paris or Brussels in the same hour at times more frequently.
Also, caught a few new livery 373 action including the newest refurbished set 3219 + 3220.
TRAINS INCLUDED: Eurostar Class 373 TGV TMST e300s & Class 374 e320 Velaros, Southeastern Class 375 Electrostars & Class 465 Networker & Class 395 Javelins and Colas Rail Freight Class 66.

Thanks very much, I use a website called Realtime Trains. For this location you look you look up 'Nashenden Crossover' which is a junction at the bottom of the viaduct and you'll find out what will pass by.
And most people love the bridge

Thanks, surprisingly not really, you can just walk there on a footpath. Though because security get very antsy when you are close to the line, I wouldn't loiter there unless you know for definite a train is about to speed by.
They want to scrap all these e300s but I don't see many e320 anyway
I have seen lots, Eurostar's daily timetables now are at least 60% e320s now. Especially if we are speaking about the Paris route, which is almost entirely e320s now.

Yes there is, the station is called Cuxton. Once you get there you walk up a steep A road hill until you get to a grassy footpath and the HS1 viaduct is straight ahead

Just imagine crossing the Medway on the M2 motorway as suddenly you get overtaken by a train thats going even faster than the motorway traffic
They go 2.5x faster than the motorway traffic. 70mph against 186mph

CHOO-CHOO!!Plane cool video choo_choo!!plane how did u get the eurostar driver to give you the horn and u should next time go to lgv nord in France as u will see eurostar s sncf and thalys and u usaly get horns from the tgv and some times eurostar class 373 raiir some times the class 374

Can you get onto that concrete bridge that traverses the line at an angle in the middle distance? That looks to be a better spot?
If you haven’t found them by now, 2019, there are several bridges and sideline spots you can drool from between Boxley southern portal and Ebbsfleet, International ( international, ha! what a joke!), nearly all accessible from the A2 trunk and the small connecting lanes off of the A2. They run largely parallel. Use your OS map.
why were both pantographs raised on the 1st clip?
That's because that train is made out of 2 sets coupled together and they each need to have a pantograph up.

How do u get there? Is there a car park, train station?!?
Cuxton station is the nearest station on the Medway Valley Line, then you have to walk up a steep hill then you'll see the bridge. That's the route I take as I don't have a car.
