    A quick recommendation, when using loktite on a screw that goes into a closed hole (like on the centre diff), the loktite should go in the hole and not on the screw. If its on the screw, the air pressure would push the loktite up and off the threads, decreasing thread coverage.

      @ Me too. I own 9 arrmas and not one is stock, I also really enjoy building fpv drones and a few electric skateboards under my belt. Fpv drones is a little more challenging due to the electronics software involved but so much fun. Electric skateboards are belt driven with dual 6374 outrunner motors, a 10S4P battery and also the electronics software involved. I really enjoy your channel so, just keep bringing the content and we'll keep watching. They don't really need to be in the exact right spot as long as they're within the ballpark you can figure out which ones go where. That being said if you're removing the old chassis you're probably doing it to put a new chassis on anyway at least most of the time

    • @DoRC

      @ Also I said it before I think, but I really like the ratio of technical, parts analysis, & post-mortem to driving this channel has. so many other channels ignore technical substance. I will say, for drivers, I use a Hyper Tough 1/4 inch compact impact for my projects. They make a brushed model for $35 ish dollars but I got the brushless version for a little more. Along with a 4 amp hour 12v battery. However I don't recommend it for 1/10 and smaller cars. It's super easy to strip things out and I've also snapped stub axles off tightening wheels way too tight. However, for larger 1/8+ projects. And it's speedy too, way faster than an electric screwdriver. You just gotta be careful lol
    If impacts aren't your style, Hyper Tough does make electric screwdrivers as well.
    By the way, hyper tough is a Walmart brand. So they're pretty easy to get ahold of. LOL

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  15 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yeah that's one of the things I really like about these drivers. With the modification I showed in a previous video you can use them all the way down to Grom screws.

    • @nashanya4262
      @nashanya4262 15 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@DoRC yeah the impact I use would absolutely destroy those poor grom screws. So I use hand tools for those. So while that impact is fast and efficient, it's limited use. 😅

      Everything from the V6 can go on the V5. The only things that would really require additional parts are the body and body mounts. You would also need to swap over the shock towers as the mounting holes are different and you would need the rear wing and rear wing mount too.

Fine just a little jump or put a piece of plywood on a concrete block and jump that over and over until you can land on your wheels every single time. Then start working your way up. Getting the fundamentals down will really help you when you start doing big air

    I’d highly recommend you check out hobbystar servos. They have a variety of budget options, but imo the best are the 4724 and 4717. If I’m not mistaken the board is the floating type and the lower gasket is a pain to reinstall so if you’re going to water test it, do that before disassembly. They’re very torquey and fast on 8.4v, and I also found them to be cool running, at least in the erevo which also has the best thermal design for servos.

Is it worth it? Depends on your wallet and needs….. as a newbie to this hobby i cant thank you enough for these informative and in-depth videos thank you

      I have done an upgrade video on the forest outcast so it wasn't quite as extreme as this. Honestly there aren't really that many upgrade parts available for the 3/4s line. Since everything's kind of integrated and plastic it's a lot harder for manufacturers to make upgrades like they can on these platforms

      Yeah I think a lot of people overestimate how much extra weight upgrades add. Obviously if you're replacing a ton of plastic with a ton of aluminum it's going to add up but It's always important to remember that the weight you're adding is the weight of the new thing minus the weight of the old thing and often that's not really a big difference

    • @Boogie_the_cat
      @Boogie_the_cat 22 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I own a Yipin "70kg" servo and it's fine, but for a similar price I also got an AGFRC 62 kg 12-16.8 volt direct power servo, which kicks ass.
      The Yipin did include an extra gear, it looks like the first gear that comes out of the motor, the one which has the least stress on it.
      I used the Yipin for a couple months, and it's hard to compare its power to the AGF, because I didn't tighten my servo saver (which was really loose) until after installing the AGF. But the AGF is definitely faster at 12v than the Yipin was at 7.4.

    I’m guessing it’ll weight 16 pounds
    Edit: 9:50 why should we put the gear inside first and then put the spur on? Is this a limited slip thing?

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yes. It's not really the gear that should go in first it's the plates. It's a lot harder to make sure the plates are actually lined up when everything is on the spur gear and it's really easy to get one of the little plates caught between it and the case. They're thin enough that it's kind of hard to tell when it happens too. If you stuff everything in the case first you can be pretty sure that won't happen

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  18 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      The outcast and notorious are basically the same vehicle just with different bodies. It's kind of similar to Kraton but the much shorter wheelbase means it's a lot harder to keep the front tires on the ground. This can be good or bad depending on what you're looking for. It's harder to control but it's also more playful

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      The Arrma fasteners are actually pretty good quality. Good carbon steel has a higher tensile strength than stainless. Stainless can also gall in aluminum. The main advantage of stainless is that it won't rust but thats not really been a practical issue for me.

    14:28 ehh RPM is softer so they get sloppy over time. Idk how people bust arms on these, I’ve had like 5 or 6 trucks that use these arms over the years and I’ve broken zero of them. I bought spares I’ve never touched.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah they do get sloppy over time which is one of their disadvantages. I think whether or not you break arms is just down to how hard you bash. I've broken arms on every single 6s Arrma vehicle I've ever owned.

      @@DoRCthe big thing I like about the Amazon basics driver is the shape. It’s basically a screwdriver handle, so you a sung up a screw and finish the last bit by hand. Before it I had the dewalt gyro drive and it was a PITA. The difference between torque level 1 and 5 were almost indistinguishable. It was always a game of twisting the clutch up real high to break screws loose and then taking it low to reinstall. Wouldn’t recommend.
