Hi Krystle! I'm a F/E director and am SO impressed by your ability to capture the beauty of CC in a video that's under 20 minutes! I have shared this video with a few families and it's been very helpful! Thank you!

This is really helpful and encouraging! We're planning on homeschooling our littles this year, as well as joining a CC community for the first time. Thank you for your insight! Will be checking out your other videos to help us navigate and journey through this season of homeschooling.

So exciting Kristen!😃 Welcome to homeschool life and CC! Both are such a blessing to be able to do and it’s so nice to be able to share and connect with each other along the way. Glad you’re here🤗❤️

Hello. I really appreciated all of the information you gave on CC. My son is not yet 3 but I am already trying to research homeschool options. Did you think the workload was ok for a 4 year old in CC? Thanks.

      Hi Sarah 👋
So exciting to be checking out homeschool options! Glad to hear you found this video helpful. I think it’s great starting out with CC at 4…one of the great things about CC is that it can be as introductory or extensive as you choose to make it. Community days are fast, engaging, and to the point which I think is perfect for little learners. Some of the facts being learned may be beyond “understanding” at age 4 but the goal is exposure and familiarity with the information in a way that makes learning fun. We started our girls with it at age 4 and it has been fantastic.
It’s up to you as teacher to decide how deep you dive into the study of each weeks material…at age 4 we didn’t do much more than introduce the songs and facts, read together and play.

Wondering what week your community starts and hoping your posting cycle one weekly videos!

Our community is starting pretty late this year, 9/10 ...So we’ll likely be behind most communities but I am still hoping to share what we do each week.

Thank you for this comprehensive video. In your opinion, do you think a child that has some learning disabilities would thrive ? I don’t mean major disabilities but for example dyslexia or speech impediment or learning delays?

Such a great question and my opinion is, “Yes, absolutely”!
CC isn’t a “textbook” style schooling...although lots of reading aloud is encouraged, there isn’t a reading curriculum assigned/included so you have the flexibility to teach it in the style that works best for you and your child. I’ve personally seen great success with all the things taught with CC for children who couldn’t read yet and even those that were challenged in speaking/engaging with others. I think the cc method, class size, and community dynamics play a big role in this.

I was also curious about the books you have in the background. Are those what you supplement with?

Hi @Momma Bounds! Yes those are books we use along side our CC curriculum for Bible, Math, and Language Arts. I have separate videos reviewing each of those as well if you’re interested.🙂
