    I'm glad I found this video. I see it's 3 years old, so I am curious, how are things going now for you? We love the Good and The Beautiful and are thinking about joining CC for next school year. I'm glad to hear that they compliment each other. I am thinking that we would only join Foundations for my 7 and 10 year old. That way we can ease into it and if it's a good fit then add Essentials on the next year. Have you seen people do that?

    I am absolutely loving your videos! I recently decided to homeschool and I joined CC and have been very overwhelmed by it all. After watching some of your videos I feel a lot more prepared and confident. Thank you so much for putting these out there!

    I know this is an older video, but I found you from searching for CC reviews. We have been attending a different co-op for the past 4 years and looking for a change. We’re 80% sure we’re going to sign up for this year. We have used TGATB this past year and I wanted to continue with their LA this coming year. Possibly their math programs also. So this video was soooo helpful and reassuring for me. Now I’m off to check out the rest of your videos 😁

    We are starting our first year of CC this fall and plan to use The Good and The Beautiful too! We will have a 3rd & 6th grader. I think after watching this I will have my 6th grader use TGATB too to make sure his grammar is concrete in his head before going into Challenge A in a year

    I have been binging your videos today and WOW, they are so encouraging and helpful. I'm sure your channel will experience a lot of growth. I have no idea where you live, but man do I wish I could meet you for coffee and pick your brain about all things parenting and homeschooling. I'm expecting my 4th baby in July, and my eldest child is 4 and to be perfectly honest, most days I feel totally overwhelmed. Your videos have been really encouraging to me today. Now I better sign off and pay more attention to my kids 😂 But I subbed and will keep up with your posts!

    Hi! We are starting our first year of CC this fall, and my community is full up on tutors, so I wasn't able to serve that way. You mentioned Mom's Night Out that your CC community does, and I'm interested to hear how that works! I'd love to do something like that for the moms in my community. I really enjoy your videos, keep them coming!! :)

    • @ThisBlendedHouse
      @ThisBlendedHouse  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Hannah! Our community has a FB group page and we have a mom who coordinates our Mom's Nights Out :) She will find someone willing to host us all and they will plan things like game nights, puzzle nights, going out to dinner etc. They will post it on the FB page and make announcements about during our assembly time. We use the FB page to RSVP. Coordinating nights like that might be a great way for you to contribute! I'm happy to answer any other questions you might have! Thanks so much for watching and commenting! xo

    A friend and fellow CC mom showed me her son’s TGatB course book that she started him in this year when she decided they wouldn’t be returning to CC. She felt that their LA was very comparable to what he would learn in Essentials and loved the curriculum. The book was beautiful and I liked the methodology, but I couldn’t imagine adding it to what I was already doing at home with my Essentials student. Most days we would spend 1.5-2 hours on his Essentials work. 😬 And I confess I fall into that CC Diehard camp you mentioned. 🙈 I love hearing about your experience with doing both though, and I’m so happy to see a new video from you today! ☺️

    • @ThisBlendedHouse
      @ThisBlendedHouse  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TGTB really is such a wonderful, beautiful and thorough curriculum! I know they learn SO MUCH in Essentials, but I just love the "extra" that TGTB brought to our table & learning. I really feel like we have the best of both worlds! xo

      Well, your video today lead me back to the TG&TB website... I’m considering it for my my pre-K and 1st grade daughters for next year now and their History Year 1 for all. 😆 Maybe Typing too. 🙈 How has that program worked for your kids this year? I’m drawn to the simplicity of it vs the game style programs we’ve trie.

    Loved this video because we’re a new CC family - my 5yo was in Cycle 1 this past year and I tutored. I recently ordered TGATB Solar System science to go along with the 5 or so weeks of space that cycle 2 has. I’m also going to finish up All About Reading lev 1 with her and then switch to TGATB language arts. My 3yo will be starting Language arts Primer this summer & the two of them will do TGATB Math K together :) Love the feel of your home and demeanor 💜

      I would really love to incorporate some of the TGTB science this year with CC like you did this last year! I haven't even had a chance to look ahead yet at what we'll be memorizing for science...but it's something I'd love to do! I wish they had math for my olders...I would absolutely try it! And thank you for watching and for your kind words

    Hi, I came across your video as I’m trying to choose between these curriculums to attempt to homeschool our soon to be kindergartner. Do you still recommend doing both programs? @Home&Arrows I'm so glad I stumbled onto your channel! I'm a mom of 4 and have been homeschooling for 6 years (since oldest was in K), using MFW. We have joined CC for next year and I'm trying to figure out what I will use next year. I'm nervous about my soon to be 6th grader keeping up with essentials and preparing for challenge, so maybe TGTB will be a good fit. Do you only use the course books? I went to their site and it looks like there is more involved.

    We are using TGTB for language arts now and we're thinking about doing CC in the fall. I have assumed we would continue with TGTB, but I have heard other CC moms say they don't do any language arts until Essentials. I'm just wondering if that is possible. I'm a minimalist with everything, so the less curriculum the better for me.....but I do want to cover what she needs. What are your thoughts?

    We have been doing CC for 2 years. This will be our third year and I am adding TG&TB language arts for my 6th grader. We are dropping essentials because she does not like it at all and the information is not sticking with her. Some of that is my fault. I am hoping TG&TB will be good for both of us. And I love that she can work independently on it. My son will be going into Challenge 1 and he will be doing an English grammar curriculum along with his Challenge work.

    • @ThisBlendedHouse

    Thanks so much for this video. We have been in CC for 4 year and next year my oldest will be in 4th grade. We have used TGTB language arts for 2 years now. I am wondering if essentials would be redundant to our work with TGTB. Do you think both should be used or just one? Thanks so much!!!! Jenna

    • @ThisBlendedHouse
      @ThisBlendedHouse  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Every family really needs to decide for themselves what works best and is a good fit for them, but I personally love that TGTB reinforces what she has learned in Essentials. Repetition is a good thing around here :)

Math from math u see and BJU science. And then I heard about CC and I think it’s something I want to do, especially since I this is my first time homeschooling. Should I send everything back lol? • @ThisBlendedHouse
      @ThisBlendedHouse  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have one that will complain every now and again. Honestly, for her, when she whines or complains, I talk to her about the importance of working hard. If it continues, she get more work for every complaint. Or I'll remove her and send her to her room and tell her she is able to join us when she can contribute to the peace in our home. Being sent to her room doesn't take away from the amount of work she has to do. It just means she might have to do it later in the day when everyone else is enjoying free time. I honestly feel out the day and the moment and am constantly asking God to give me wisdom and ideas on how to handle it when she gets that way! xo
