      @TCT are you sure that's what the architect wanted? I thought that was more the Oracle. From my understanding, Neo was the first to choose Trinity over Zion. The rest did what the architect wanted, picking Zion, which let the matrix reboot and kept it at it's 99% success rate.

    That line still haunts me today, I can't think of an answer to that question..

    • @marshal11ify
      @marshal11ify 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      REAL is just a word. actually existing as a thing or occurring in fact; not imagined or supposed.
      Look at it like this, the only thing that is real is nothing, or no-thing. Because all is mind, and the mind (consciousness) will always go on creating and manifesting. It's an endless cycle because the void is infinite."What is real? How do you define real?' That line is made to make YOU think. However, if you watch from the beginning of the Matrix movie, you will see Neo open a book with his codes in it and the chapter is on Nihilism, the book is called Simulation and Simulacra. The shame is that intellectuals aren't that intellectual because all is mind. So in Nihilism, believing in nothing, defeats the purposes of even mentioning because there is no thing to believe in. Hence ignorant concern and yet fastidious explanation. Where the understanding gets misled is that these philosophers only observed one half of their "nihilism". Annihilation is where the conversion of matter into energy (void), especially the mutual conversion of a particle and an antiparticle into electromagnetic radiation. In other words you have to have some thing exist first, for you to not believe in it. Otherwise it does not exist....

    I love this scene. Simply the begining, for example. The body expression of Laurence Fishburne and his voice tone. When he says "This, is the constructor". The shape of a good teacher in that only sentence where "This" and "constructor" is the same thing he points in two different directions. "This" pointing the floor of that empty space, "is" in the proccess and "the constructor" signing at the space where they make the actions that make that place be what it is: "This, is the constructor". And saying it in that empty white space it is artistically philosophical, intellectual. Exists the place, and the place you make to be. The space is empty untill you give it a reason, or a sense. All that just in two seconds of white color and told by body expression. It is magnificient. My words are too many words. They said much faster and simple, understandable by all beings.
    Those are kind of things that we do every instant but actors have a better conection with that part of life, of body expression.

      Don’t believe me? Look up event 201. Look up the fact that they have a drill or mock exercise that precedes a real life event, trend or occurrence on the world stage. @@henrlima87 re: "Wouldnt call it a religion tho" no worries it IS in fact religion. the Matrix is written in ALLEGORY which is exactly what the Bible is written in, meaning it's just a story written in a way to help the listener understand a point or lesson. even more important to understand is books and the written word is relatively NEW way of learning in the overall History of Man. the printing press and the printing revolution didn't occur until the 1400's, of course Humanity was already teaching and learning for thousands of years BEFORE this point. this is where "fables" and "folklore" came in, it was how EDUCATION in antiquity was carried out, and the technique is still with us in the form of MOVIES.

      @xFlared 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When I dream I feel, see, hear, and can even taste food. Does that mean my dreams are real? Then there are people who hallucinate and have schizophrenic disorders. In addition we will soon have simulations which will mimic all the 5 senses and would most likely be used in the military as training programs. So what morpheous said "electrical signals interpreted by the brain" is 100% correct. Those electrical signals in the brain can be caused by many things, be it mental disorder, technological simulation, dreams and our 5 senses. "Technological simulation" is the main reason scientist today believe there is a chance this reality is a computer simulation because today we are approaching that same point where we would be able to create complex world simulations with possibly advanced ai/self aware computers, or possibly plugged in humans. So now take the 5 senses which is supposed to be the most realistic aspect of the "signals that our brain interprets", and see that this too can be part of a technology imposed effect created by an advanced civilization and mirrored the world in the image of their "reality". This is the paradigm today's scientist face. It is possible that if we are part of a simulation, there is a good chance that those who created this digital "computer world" are also living in a simulation, and this could go on and on "Inception Style".

    Funny thing is that the girl, Switch was in fact a guy in the real world. But her residual self image in the matrix was the one of a blonde girl. Thats why her nick was Switch.
    I think that Larry Watchaski was projecting since that time.

      My *Ex* -husband thot the same thing.
      ;-)
      In the case of people who have been born into and maintained inside of a giant mechanical projector, it is their _digital self._ Their machine-generated self - digital. In the Construct, neo is no longer being fed that self-image by the machine, but he is still seeing/feeling/being it. That is why it is a "residual self image". He is now the one who is projecting it, mentally and making it seem real.
      In the case of people who were born into this world, it may seem the other way around. We don't have a digital self-image. Ours is mental.

    Notice the difference in accoustics of their voice when inside the white room and when they're in the 'desert of the real'. Even though they are still in the matrix, the Wachowski's chose a tinny, flat and confined sound for the white room, and a very upfront, real-world sound in order to demonstrate the gravity of the situation.

    “At some point early in the 21st century, all of mankind was united in celebration. We marveled at our own magnificence as we gave birth to #AI. A singular consciousness that spawned an entire race of machines. We don’t know who struck first. Us or them.” - Morpheus
    I've got to say as someone who was supposed to have died from a brain tumor before the end of 2020, these past few years have seemed like a fever dream. I never thought I would live to see AI advance, let alone so quickly as it has in the past year alone. Fingers crossed The Matrix didn't call what will happen.
    I just watched it again for the first time in 15 years with my daughter, and that line really stood out to me. It's been a rough four years. Living The Matrix would be too much. Especially living the brief synopsis made by Morpheus. PLEASE let this stay the fun kind of AI. If not, I guess I'll see you all when we're batteries, plugged into the matrix.
