Thank you for this really practical tips! One question: is the Smallrig Strap also compatible with the Zhiyun Weebill? Or which strip do you recommend for this Stabilizer?

love that you addressed a very specific thing here with the smallrig/F38 AS working together, thanks so much. Have found out the hard way that SmallRig AreaSwiss on their cages doesn't actually fit *all ArcaSwiss mounts - apparently not all AS-mounts are not created equally 😤 love that these two pieces are interchangable. been sleeping on the F38 system for a while, but this now will integrate perfectly with my near-perfect interchangable system.
sidenote: actually bought that side handle per your recc but in real world use didn't love it. was a little close to gimbal, and made for awkard grip/CG overall. def really well made, bit heavy, but just not for me. always appreciate the vids m8!

I have used that Gimbal Arm originally on my Webil S and now my RS3- It's a good piece of kit but have found it impossible to stop it rotating in the screw hole, even with the Falcam F38 plate attached as you suggest. I suppose it's the fault of the RS3 that it does not have multiple holes or securing pins in the base to stop the handle from moving around?
I have now had to move to a Nato mounted side handle which of course stays rigid and at right angles to the gimbal, with zero movement.

Hi Peter! Thanks a lot for your help with the Falcam plates the last time! :). I have now bought Falcam plates and have a Q about what tripods to use with weBill S. I have also bought an extension pole so I figure I need 2 tripods to switch fast between pole and no pole as seen in video above. What tripods do you recommend? I have a Zhinyun but that screw is too long and goes through the falcam plate. Need 2 sturdy gimbals tripods, Thankful for help.l Best regards Petter
Single point rifle slings are AWESOME.
Nice one, The only problem with the other base plates for the Ronin, Is I do not think they have the holes to attach the lens support and the follow focus gears on them so you won't be able to attach the follow focus motor nor the lens support. I use the Focus Motor to control my zoom lens on the Gimbal and it is the best thing I have ever done. I can zoom in and or via the thumb controller from the Ronin while on the fly... And for tricky VND shots it can control the Variable ND in the lens as well if you are shooting from indoors and going outdoors and need a sloth ND transition...
Can I use the small rig base plate for the RS3 mini as well or its only for the RS3.
How do you stop the microphone stop bouncing?

btw, does the new SmallRig sling strap require ungranding the primary handle? think the one that comes with Ronin does not have screw mounts in it, hrmm ...
I already had the Rifle Sling,
but the SmallRig look interesting
with the QD sockets at the baseplate.
I also use the Rode VideoMic Go II
at the Top of Camera on the Gimbal,
But the Sound Quality is Just Okay.
( The Ambient Sound Still be heard. )
So I tend to use the Bigger Shotgun Mic
at the Top of the Side Handle Grip,
But It's not always point at
the Same direction of the Camera.)
So... In Post-Production Process
I Only use the Wireless Mic's Audio.
And the Camera's Audio just for back-up.

I actually don't know, but You can't get the monitor any more, so you might be able to find one that can.
I see your Nisi filter does not have the little pin to turn it? Did you lose it or did it break? My broke and it is the only bummer about this filter. That little pin is flimsy and does not screw in tight.. Mine kept coming out and finally the threads just failed and no longer stays in.. But the filter is the best I have ever used...
I took em out, because they are in the way when I put the camera in my bag. but yes agree that the construction of the is very bad.

On your strap, is there any advantage using the small rig vs the magpul gen4 sling?
I defently like the magpul better, because it is black, but the advantage with the smallrig is the baseplate you get with it for the gimbal. it is brilliant.

Hi Peter is it possible to adapt that Ulanzi side grip to Weebill 2 without loosing a tripod/grip element ? I guess You mounted grip between gimbal body and tripod/grip ?
For the weebill 2 you have to buy zhiyun's side handle, because the ulanzi handle will interfere with the screen.
@@PeterMakholm problem is, there is no official Zhiyun side handle for Weebill 2 :)
Will the shoulder strap work with the RSC2? Is the base compatible
I can't test it for you because I do not have the RSC2 any more, but I am pretty sure that the bottom of the grip is the same size. If you order it form amazon you can test if it fits and if not just send it back.
Where is that side handle? I can find it in the description or anything.

smallrig quick release on the bottom of the gimbal needed 2 screws ...it always loosens and the gimbal doenst feel sturdy... also the handle on the side is too small formy 5 inch monitor and it gets in the way of the rotating gimbal... trying to find workarounds on this stuff but your tips are really welcomed :)
I have built this rig :) however I have the same issue, the falcam only has one screw going into the Botton of the small rig and spins. Any advice please ?
HiPeter! Thanks a lot for your superb tips, helped me alot, love your work! :) I have a Q. When you go to a ordinary tripod from the gimball, what kind of tripod heads do you use? I have like 3 manfrotto heads and are bound to manfrotto,-plates. So have you seen a conversion from your Falcam-plate to Manfrotto plate? Would like to test Falcam plates, but i dont want to get rid of my Manfrotto tripods. Thanks again man! :) (the weebill S has as you know, has a manfrotto plate so i can put it on my manfrotto head, but i have to release the whole plate for that)
are you talking about a big tripod or just a small vlogging tripod? But as i said in the video I have it on all my gear.... I simply add it on top of my 504pl baseplates for my large tripods and for my small vlogging tripod I have the Ulanzi carbon tripod with a joby 3k ballhead where i have attached an f38 plate instead of their plate. So I have simply streamlined all of my gear to fit with f38 plates. I have also invested in a bunch of them. I think i have about 10 of them. The same goes for my Weebill S. I do not use the quick release the have within the baseplate, I use the baseplate from ulanzi with the F38 plate on.

8:10 You're using the dji combo handle incorrectly. It does lock in to place before tightening.

You put the DJI adjustable handle on wrong bro... I use the DJI version nearly every month for wedding and it does have the safety lock on the bottom. You need to flip it around.... you are using the DJI version wrong..
