As the franchise goes on, the biggest problem really seems to be that it was a "One Year War." All of the resources and development time for every EFSF/Zeon MS, MA, weapon, ship, and so on just doesn't fit within the setting. In personal head canon, the war would take much longer. On the other hand, maybe thinking that critically is too similar to looking at 2005's Need for Speed Most Wanted and asking what city would have hundreds of police vehicles, have them all destroyed, lose millions to property damage, and NOT call in the National Guard to just shoot the main character's car? How about with the nose gun on an attack helicopter?
Yeah the universal century timeline seems to have a highly accelerated rate of development for their war machines. I always was confused in zeta Gundam by the fact that all of the one year war machines were considered antiques when it hadn't even been a whole decade since the event. In real life new generations of war machines can take a decade of design let alone production and testing to roll out to the field. Then again we need to stop trying to apply real world logic to this franchise.
The Psycho Zaku wasn't mentioned here but its a hilarious design, its a High Mobility Zaku with a bunch of HUGE boosters and like 2 extra copies of all of its equipment because of course, its from Thunderbolt
I have a question, and I don't know if it has already been answered: What was Zeon's most obscure MS they developed that never actually saw battle or was planned but never built?
My answer would be the Great Zeong. It was supposed to be Zeon's magnum opus, but they couldn't build it due to either a lack of resources/technology developed. It's a shame though. It's successors, Queen Mansa and Kshatrya, are among the coolest mobile suits in design. It could've joined them with it's great design.
I'd say the Zaku II Propellant Unit. It was a modified Zaku II with extra propellant tanks, which was done to potentially extend the unit's operational range. The design was flawed in such a way that the fuel tanks vibrated a lot during the test runs, which eventually caused them to explode. Needless to say, they never made any more of them after that.
What about the Zaku High Mobility Ground types? Its been a while since I watched the zaku ground types video so it may have been in there. I don't use them much in battle operation 2 but i played through code fairy, so i used Alma's unit quite a bit (i doubt code fairy would ever be canon because few video games are and especially because they singled out the Pixy Gundam as non-canon years ago and then they gave Lilith one).
Funny that the GM on paper was much better than the HiMo types in terms of acceleration. Goes to show how good the GMs were despite how poorly they fared in animation.
I was looking up Psycho Zaku from Thunder, but was it built with some High Mobility Zaku parts or did it actually have the High Mobility Zaku as a base?

The Kurt Russel custom kind of looks like the Ground High-Mobility type.
Hang on, when did Anavel Gato pilot a Zaku 2 R-A1? We only saw him in a Gelgoog during the battle of A.B.A.Q. when he got shot and tried to switch to a Dom. (Stardust 0083)
I love how humans talk about expanding into space but behave in a way that is completely counter productive to such events happening
Good mate..keep it up!
The high mobility type zakus are my fav zakus ever!
