Awesome vid as always! Cant wait for the HMT. One word of note, I think you should include the CGUE on the next part as that line is pretty sparse (im sure you already know theres ony 3) and is very much closely related to the Ginn. Like the relationship of the UC Zaku and Zaku Commander (in which the CGUE is supposed to have that role), it does makes sense to say the CGUE is an extension of the Ginn line. However, if you do have plans to compile all the other minor ZAFT MS lines into one whole video, that it would make more sense for the CGUE to be there. Keep up the great lore content Kakarot!
@@echos5823 Ah I was talking about role in the plot, not the actual story behind it, sorry about that. But yes, the CGUE was meant to replace thr GINN but the GUAIZ found more favor even before the seizing of the G Project Gubdams. So at the end of the day, the CGUE did well, it was just too late for its chance in the spotlight.
So Vair's GINN is basically the Cosmic Era version of Johnny Ridden's HMT Zaku. I like the references that the Cosmic Era gives to it's UC counterparts.
Yes, I've been waiting for this. As awesome as the Zakus are I like the Ginns more since it fits the showbetter. The Zakus are so synonymous to the UC that it looks weird and sometimes doesn't feel like it fits the Cosmic Era.
The GINN is already the Zaku of Cosmic Era. That ZAKU Warrior torso design should've been given to the GINN as an upgrade. Also GuAIZ series should be staple in GSD. In that way, I think it could give Cosmic Era more identity and originality.
Hay I remembered something that would explain how zeon aces had more ms kills then ball and GMs that where built in OYW. I know that's a old video and nothing to do with this but I thought you want to know. In ms igloo the show feddies using stolen zakus. And lots of times the federation officers mention captured or recovered zakus for reserch so it was something the feddies did on mass may be even standard practice but without decated training for ms pilots many of the zakus they stole where shot down adding to zeon ace kill count.
I almost want to see a Gundam series where all the weapons are just pre-WW1 style single shot guns. All the Mook Mechs with bolt-action and lever-action rifles while the Gundam's op weapon is just straight up a giant Maxim.
I really like this series you have worked on. Great job digging up all the info to make an informative video. I would like to see a video on the Gaza C and D, maybe the Bawoo from ZZ. Also, The Barzam as I know basically nothing about it The Methuss and Hambrabi also from Zeta would be cool too. Maybe the Rick Dias too, it was in so many episodes and I don't know where it came from, always looked like a Dom painted red, but performed SOOO much better.
Really interesting how the Ginn has similar design and history to the Zaku I and II, though I’m not sure if it’s intentionally a reference to the Universal Century timeline or just a copy. Regardless, it’s another great Development History video and can’t wait for part 2!
Literally all the mass production suits in Seed and Destiny is a reference to an MS from UC in terms of role and design, and sometimes both from different designs as well (ex, BABI where it acts like an Asshimar but transforms like a Hambrabi). Exceptions to this would be the M1 Astray to an extent. The Gundam types are the most unique MS designs of both Seed & Destiny.
They should've use the ZAKU Warrior torso design as upgrade and call it GINN II as a nod to UC's Zaku II and have it perform like Miguel's custom GINN.
I'd love the ginn if it wasn't for the stupidly large head finn. Everything else looks great but if it wasn't for that it'd be my favorite AU grunt suit, which is the Leo
@@gravefox4206 Yeah, I really like all the equipment that the Leo can use. Really does feel like you don't really need that many specialty suits when the Leo can literally just do it all.
The PLANT colonies are specialized in their respective roles so the oaks must've been grown in colonies that specialized in biological sciences and agriculture. Heard the leather are lab grown.
This doesn't make sense. Why would ZAFT sell their Ginn to civilians when the its still being used in the ZAFT army? The technology, I'm assuming, is classified. If sold to civilians, there would be a massive chance the Earth Alliance could get their hands on a Ginn, and copy the technology. The whole reason ZAFT is able to beat back the larger EA military is because of mobile suit technology. ZAFT sharing that would ruin their advantage.
Hey Kakarot hope you remember me. I love all Gundam but Gundam seed is my favorite because I loved how it showed for the first time how two best friends would end up in opposite sides of a war. I’m a huge student of history especially civil war history and you know there are many stories of best friends against each other and even brothers so I thought it was an interesting take plus the fight against racism behind it all and how hating someone because they are different is wrong I also love how rnaturals end up hating their own creations coordinators and the psychological take on them trying to wipe them out I don’t know the story was great when viewed in those perameters plus Rau was one of the best bad guys seen in a while, wanted to end humanity because of how humanity is even in this day in age. Amazing. I also enjoyed the mobile suits created for this anime I don’t know simple but complex at the same time.
The Fuego and its counterpart remind me of the Zaku Tank and the Dra-C from Universal Century when they came up in this video. Couldn't help but notice the resemblance and its combat uses.
Great work, I have to ask though do you ever plan to do a video on how Zeon, and ZAFT would do against the other as all I hear is ZAFT wins. I feel you could give this a good review.
I see Zeon influencing ZAFT and neutral parties for complete spacenoids liberation; by sending assassins to kill Clyne and his moderates and Zala and his coordinator supremacist and coordinate with L4 and L2 to liberate themselves from Earth completely! I see the dropping of Junius seven; something done much earlier than later in SD, as well as other dead colonies in L4 and L1! Their would be pro-spacenoid junk guild and others that will help them. And Zeon will aide them by crushing OMNI moon bases and naval yards! Maybe even taken captive their Newtype pilots and creating cyber newtypes in the cosmic era with available genetic or surgical/chemical enhancements! So that both naturals and coordinators are able to utilize Dragoon’s and other high maneuverable MS and true MA! As OMNI was responsible for most the destruction done in space and accuse it on ZAFT over the media- blame LOGOS for that! I see allot of support in the cosmic era for complete and total liberation from the Earth sponsor nations, as they’re corrupt and tyrannical- several times worst than the EFF! This is just the moderate Earth sponsor nations government’s reaction to colonist in space. Almost all will side with Zeon, most people living in PLANT and within ZAFT will side with Zeon; Turning their hubs against both supremacists and pacifist moderates! As even Shaku’s family side would side to Zeon and their G-project secretes for them and Artemis and Boaz as gift for the principality! Which will put a sword onto blue cosmos, by telling them; you want to nuke coordinators to extinction and threaten the lives of spacenoids regardless of genetic origin! Then you deserve colony drops as payback! Which will end into an Antarctic treaty that bans nuclear weapons and colony drops; giving spacenoid the edge and using N-jammers as a tactical use weapon over a strategical nightmare on Earth. Because almost everyone uses nuclear fission energy as a power source! Zeon introduces nuclear fusion to their allies, and N-jammers as a defense measure. They’re powered by a cleaner nuclear energy that is several times more efficient than fission and as added bonus it’s not affected by N-jammers, as it doesn’t use free neutrons as energy!
Gai's Ginn armor schneider is quite different than those used by strike and impulse, its non foldable. I think these are the same blades that Gai attached on the hip of Astray Blue Frame 2nd L.
The GINN will always be my favorite grunt mobile suit, I don't count the Gouf or its variants cause those all end up as commander special units. The moment I got my copy of SD Gundam Cross Rays I made sure I got one asap to have my custom character using and kept developing it so I could utilize all its variants....ESPECIALLY the High Maneuver Types.
Ginn design are really good and I can say they are perfect. You just want to buy more of them to have a squad. I wonder the OMNI have some captured Ginn like zakus that used by EF in UC time line.
Contradiction on ZAFT, they said that the organization wasn’t a full regimental military, but all volunteered milita force. Then became a contradiction with full military organization. I thought all ZAFT troops were equals? Officers and enlisted seem like a regulated military thing like Orb or OMNI? I get that ZAFT was going through a transition phase?
Some militias do become a full-fledged military organization after independence. Take Israel's Haganah for example. Formed out of previous existing militias to defend their land and then become IDF after 1948. I think ZAFT was halfway between the two between CE 69 to CE 72 and each 12 PLANT colonies are self-governed settlements themselves so there are various militia groups forming ZAFT. Interestingly, they keep the colour rank system in CE 73.
Can't remember if it was a CGUE or a GINN, but one was made the testbed for the Freedom's Hi-Mat weapon wings. Oddly mentioned also was that whole squads of similarly modified units were to be based around the Justice and Providence as well.
you might be thinking the YFX-600R GuAIZ Experimental Firearms Type it was the testbed for the freedom and justice equipment as for the freedoms Hi-Mat mode there is no official story but i think its an advancement of the DINNs wings
Is weird that I find the ceremonial type my favorite? Just the idea of making fully operational suits for parade is quite amusing and fascinating to me. I wonder how many other suits were made for the same purpose across the franchise.
Yet EA uses BULLPUPS with regular ammo where they should've use the caseless ammo pulse rifle! If only I have a knack for building kits, I would've make a custom build Buster Gundam, as a Colonial Marine M56 Smartgun gunner complete with USCMC camo schemes.
@@Joshua_N-A I do not mind them using bullpups, but I consider i to be illogical that they are using cased ammo. Caseless ammo saves nearly 60% in materials and the Cordinaters are supposed to be artificially enhanced, and highly intelligent humans. If they could make a weapon that can deliver the same amount of damage down range and reduce the materials expended, I think they would take that route. In seed MS's are supposed to be a highly efficient and versatile weapon platform.
@@johnsmithfakename8422 the GINN's standard rifle would've been caseless as well so are the other weapons that use propellant. PLANT's resources is limited so they had to capture a Republic of East Asia's resource satellite which later become Boaz. ZAFT's infantry basic training would be using firearm replicas with very realistic recoil, a high-end airsoft kind of thing and VR training. Yeah, Coordinators is supposed to be artificially enhanced humans and would have no problem in real combat after spending most of the time training in simulators. Had they all use caseless, people getting hit by spent casings would be avoided. You don't wanna be near a mobile suit with those falling down on you. In every Gundam media I saw, caseless ammo is nearly non-existent and Gundam 00 did feature caseless firearms carried by the pilots. But still, the ships aren't FTL capable like the Conestoga-class unfortunately and still hasn't any Gundam that set on an exoplanet, away from the Solar System.
I found out that their name Ginn is a play on the word Jinn, the Arabic word of genie, you know the magic lamp and wish granting ones, not sure what that is meant so symbolize, they are killer genies?

8:50 - I have heard a claim that there was more then one Insurgent Type GINN since there were other similiar attacks happening during the aftermath of the Break the World
9:40 - Ha. Took me a moment to remember where this variant happens to be from! This variant is only seen in a couple of pages of the first or second Astray R Manga. That is it!
10:20 - LOL! So true! I have called this GINN that a couple of times!
10:40 - Ah! The Worker GINN I had always assumed that this mobile suit was also used by ZAFT but it has only been recently that I have informed that it was an all-out Junk Guild machine. Mainly thanks to it retaining the regular GINN's model number. Also one side note you should have mentioned the double hand/armed type seen in the X Astray Manga.
12:15 - Huh. That is an interesting piece of colored lineart for the Cermonial Type GINN. Never seen it before... Also. Huh. Never noticed that shield-like attachment to left side of the backpack... An interesting touch.
12:52 - I really do not think that is actually real oak but some sort of imitation.
Oh.... I cannont wait to see the next video of this series. Still I had some fun going through this video and taking these notes. Thanks Kakarot for the video!
I hope we get a development history on the GN-X
The best grunt suit
It needed Moar Dakka, though.
Its just between you and me, but Kakarot never really fan of 00 series. I believe he will eventually make 00 series video, but you can expect it not in our generation.
My favourite of all. The GN-X. Slash Zaku Phantom. Gaera Zulu. Zee Zulu. And least favourite is Dom.
Technically Grunts but at the same time, sorta' Ace unit prototypes.
There's always one person in seed & seed destiny that has they're own custom mobile suit with orange color and always die s few episodes after they're shown.
Plus they die the same way
@Shadow Bringer can we call ed the ripper a person that uses a orange color mobile suit i mean if u look at his history the sword calamity is the only orange mobile suit he has and the other mobile suit just had other colors he has are not orange just saying tho
Thanks to your video about the dagger development history, i was able to complete my dagger variation customs,
now, we're going to get the ginn variations done next .
So at the end of the day, the CGUE did well, it was just too late for its chance in the spotlight.
i guess those ''patrick zala was on the correct path'' guys will be coming in the next part, then.
In that way, I think it could give Cosmic Era more identity and originality.
cant wait for a new RE or MG of these to fill out my Seed shelves!
I enjoy these videos very much.
And after seeing the Ceremonial Type, I have this strange need to see Sunrise do a Gundam series based on WW1.
So, another Turn A-type series.
Ginns are probably my favorite Zaku clones out there, thanks for the vid!
Imo the GINN felt more original than the ZAKUs in GSD.
@@Joshua_N-A eh i feel like the ZAKU Warrior is more similar to the Hi-Zack
@@gravefox4206 except the Zaku warriors were actually good machines
I feel like armour schneider is a general term for small handheld blades used by mobile suits
Holy shit, how many trees did that Ceremonial Dress Ginn's rifle take you think? That things gotta be the size of a CAR.
@@echos5823 Right, this is the PLANTS we're talking about here isnt it.
@@echos5823 Makes sense, you can rapidly grow skin in-vat, we do that ourselves today to make skin grafts.
I love the ginn's militaristic design nothing too fancy.
It had a hell of an arsenal
I really like this series you have worked on. Great job digging up all the info to make an informative video.
I would like to see a video on the Gaza C and D, maybe the Bawoo from ZZ.
Also, The Barzam as I know basically nothing about it
The Methuss and Hambrabi also from Zeta would be cool too. Maybe the Rick Dias too, it was in so many episodes and I don't know where it came from, always looked like a Dom painted red, but performed SOOO much better.
i like the GINN but honestly even the basic model looks like it was from the get go ment as an ace unit granted most coordinators are XD
Cant wait for part 2 ginn was always my favorite MS in seed and I'm a e.f.f fan I just something about the ginn click for me
Really interesting how the Ginn has similar design and history to the Zaku I and II, though I’m not sure if it’s intentionally a reference to the Universal Century timeline or just a copy.
The CE also have their own Zaku which is Zaku Warrior and Zaku Phantom. The Ginn are more likely similar to Geara Doga or Geara Zulu.
They should've use the ZAKU Warrior torso design as upgrade and call it GINN II as a nod to UC's Zaku II and have it perform like Miguel's custom GINN.
I'm being waiting so long for you to make this video
I'd love the ginn if it wasn't for the stupidly large head finn. Everything else looks great but if it wasn't for that it'd be my favorite AU grunt suit, which is the Leo
The Leo has eternally been my favorite grunt suit.
out of all grunt Suits the Leo holds firm to me mainly cause it feels American in design like it really looks like what we would use as a mobile suit.
@@gravefox4206 Yeah, I really like all the equipment that the Leo can use. Really does feel like you don't really need that many specialty suits when the Leo can literally just do it all.
Never liked the ginn or Gundam Seed, but these videos are so damn good that I get excited everytime I get the notification
Yes thank you for this!!
I love it when you post CE videos
As a big fan of the ginn, this made my day.
Just want to mention that the oak in the stock of the rifle of the ceremonial type was artificially made specifically for that purpose in the PLANTS.
The PLANT colonies are specialized in their respective roles so the oaks must've been grown in colonies that specialized in biological sciences and agriculture. Heard the leather are lab grown.
@@Joshua_N-A Yeah, exactly.
Nice, this is one of my favorite MS designs. I like the sword, first time I watch Gundam was CE and when it whipped out its sword I was like “nice!”
9:34 metal
Proto Ginn with the mobile suit V8 backpack.
I just found something that will make Kakarot hate Angelo Sauper even more.
He killed an AlWaYs BuLkY ZaKu 3 with his Rozen Zulu in episode 7
I live for these development history videos
GM development history is a must. It's not a matter of if, but when...
@@lordalpharius5928 It would be interesting to see something similar, but replace Zeon with the Earth Federation (around 0096 tech and weapons)
Gai's Ginn armor schneider is quite different than those used by strike and impulse, its non foldable. I think these are the same blades that Gai attached on the hip of Astray Blue Frame 2nd L.
i think Armor Schneider is just the type name but there are probobly diffrent varients like the real life K-Bar
Always love hearing Operations Room bgm!
9:51 that's nice dear, make sure your are back before 9, you do have school tomorrow.
Ginn design are really good and I can say they are perfect. You just want to buy more of them to have a squad. I wonder the OMNI have some captured Ginn like zakus that used by EF in UC time line.
> The colour wasn't just for show
That reminds me of something!
You've done the Ginn, now the Zaft Zaku.
You should do a video on all of the “Gundams” of the One year war. Or the strongest Gundams of the one year war
I guess my favourite Ginn High-Maneuver Type is on the next part?
Zaft soldiers: we r like samurais no shield or u coward. The Miguel that 1 Miguel guy: hold my beer
My second favorite grunt unit, second only to the Leo from Wing.
Leo's for days
13:06 was it really that hard to get the same stuff the gerbera strait was made of, or at least the heavy sword.
I like the Ginn's design a bit. Especially the Antenna crest. Reminds me of the feathers on the head of a cockatoo.
@@gravefox4206 I thought so. Just couldn't figure out what it was. I only ever found an image of it. Never got a name or serial number.
Is weird that I find the ceremonial type my favorite? Just the idea of making fully operational suits for parade is quite amusing and fascinating to me. I wonder how many other suits were made for the same purpose across the franchise.
Will you be covering the first Alliance-PLANT War?

Bandai
We want this Tempester
A graze development history video would be pretty cool
To be fair if the for the ceremonial gun that big, even blank should be able to do some damage just to the sheer size the bullet would have been.
now i want more i loved it
Now that Bandai has released there image of there first Ginn lets hope we get several variations in MG form.
"Based on the humble power loader worker suit." So xenomorphs exist in the SEED universe. I feel sorry for them.
@@Joshua_N-A
I do not mind them using bullpups, but I consider i to be illogical that they are using cased ammo.
I think Zaft's MS names doesn't mean anything (except their Gundams), and they sounds weird too
I would 110% use that ceremonial rifle for a custom MS, it would be humiliating for the enemy and spark incredible stories
Love the Zaku but the Ginn is always a nice alternative to pilot any day of the week.
GAT X100 series development history please
5:30 The Federation?
ZAFT engineer: ASSULT SHROUD everything
In the manga miguel did use the ginn assault type but was destroyed anyways by the sword strike gundam i wish they show that in the anime
I'm always going to see Ginns as just Zakus with flairs attached.
Suggestion for a Suit you can do a history development for is the Sinanju be nice to see that.
It's one of the good zaku clone and it makes the warrior look like a joke
Because it is, according to most of international fans.
GuAIZ R should've been the mainstay in GSD.
"In Cosmic Era 69..."
Nice.
Like Zeons they develop Mobile worker to Mobile Suit, when I watched Mobile Suit Gundam episode 4 the 4 Zeons Mobile Suits really took out the Earth's Guncanon.
