So cool! Here's an interesting idea: If you make the left and right sides separate, with two different tread lengths, you can get a path that changes over time!
@Seek Him with all your heart and you will find Him hey you’re free to do what you want but when you say random passages in comments that had no connection to it, it just makes it look like That’s all you say.
When I made one of these a while back, I didn’t want the pattern to repeat. My build had three tracks at different gear ratios and relative speeds. It was way cool, and every once in a while you would have three cars line up in an impossible wall. To make it possible it had a three speed transmission. Had scorekeeping on an EV3. Didn’t have much of a piece collection at the time so it was not anywhere this pretty. This makes me want to come back and do it again
Great build! To make it more interesting, shouldn't the cars on the "wrong" side of the road come at you faster? Maybe make to separate tracks and keep the "wrong" side less occupied/roomy since they would approach you quicker?
@@RJMBricks About speed tho, as its still not that much of a simulator (It's still very cool and i couldn't accomplished smthn close to that, i dont have enough patience for it), what about instead of controlling the speed by yourself, instead hooking up he speed-controller to the drive motor but put it through a high gear ratio to make it spin extremely slow so that when starting the game it starts slow and gets faster and faster the longer you go, thus having an increasing difficulty like classic arcade games?
@@RJMBricks Why not different tracks with 2 different motors? Then the turn off switch would be controlled for each side. Also, the cars on one side need to face the same direction as travel as your car. Great build!
It's actually incredible how people are able to just basically recreate the very old mechanical arcade games of like, the 50s-70s in Lego like this. Good job!
This is really cool. The design is perfect, reminds me of the retro racing simulators. I have one small idea, what if you randomized it? You could have different tiles with different car configurations all stored in one side, then have a slider that can push the top one onto the living track, which is the road. If you have multiple tracks and find a way to randomize the selection, maybe using the Mindstorms, it could make it more fun and interesting. Great video, just like every previous one. 👍
Maybe you could use magnets, but AFAIK all the official Lego magnets are too big for this. You'd probably need small, round neodymium magnets that go inside the Technics pegs or the round things on the underside of regular bricks. Then the cars would be relatively easy to add and remove, but they might rotate or come off by themselves. Which might be a good thing at the end of the track - old cars would fall off and slide into a car container, where some mechanism picks out a random car from and applies it tho the road. Could have two magnets per car with opposing poles, so that the cars would auto-align. But this would not be a 100% Lego build with some random hardware store magnets added. Never stopped me though, I added all kind of weird things to the bricks because special bricks used to be very rare and expensive where I live.
you could make the oncoming traffic move faster then the traffic you are suppose to be with, by splitting the road in half. Making a slightly larger version would also allow for more design options. Your design is excellent and looks very polished.
Make it a real thing! Make it a real thing! I would love to see this become a full fledged set so ppl who don't have the access to the materials needed to make this can buy the set and have fun with just a tiny bit less trial and error.
Cars aren’t supposed to cross yellow lines. Man made a GTA 5 simulator, and for that I love this MOC even more 😂 Edit: astonishing studios totally stole my comment what the heck 😂
Holy shit you could scale that up, and have two conveyors to have 2 way traffic, as well as a mechanism timed to do an automated run, that would work all the way up to 100% speed just to see how crazy the steering is at full speed!
i would suggest to add a LEGO spedometer, for the score system, by having the rotations as a score system. It might need a large gear ratio to set the score correctly so 1 full cycle equals 1 rotation
For a next level complexity -both for the game play and for the build- have three lanes each traveling at different speeds. Include a "parking lot" to turn into when the roads are completely blocked.
Sweet idea! The mechanics were solid, and you made it look great. I'm thinking of starting a lego channel. I think that would be really cool. I already have a Domino channel, and Legos and dominoes are really similar. You should try out dominoes if you haven't yet.
I enjoy your videos and how you create ideas that are BRILLIANT! This project is definitely hard and I could tell you spent a lot of time and effort on this! Good job thinking everything through and doing it carefully.
This is a really cool build! I have an idea: What if you made three tracks side by side so the road is randomized? That would make it even more interesting than it already is.
I think the LEGO NIntendo Entertainment System set used the same treads, and I believe they used half-width Technic beams to fill in the gap on the blue pegs. I don't know if you would have had enough of those on hand to use that method here, though. Something to look into if you revise this build (or do something similar with the treads) next time
Great update to the old design! Glad to see you fixed the one niggle I had with the racing car one by straightening up the driven car. Also chuffed I was right about how it turns off when hitting a car 😉
Me after passing by the same car for the fifth time and somehow not reaching the tunnel after driving for two minutes: "Something is wrong, I can feel it"
It would be cool to have the game get progressively harder, maybe by using a very low geared motor to progressively increase the speed. The same mechanism could have a score counter as well even
idea: how about you make the left and right half of the street independent conveyor belts so that the cars that are driving towards you move at double the speed of the ones on the right
This is a good example of why blueprints were invented. So you don't have to trial and error every part and waste time by reconstructing them. Good work, though! Persistence can always cover for blueprints!
Awsome build. A friendly advice: Talk a bit slower and no (or at least much lower) music. It is very hard to listen to you and makes the video very hectic.

Its amazing! But you could make a way to "officially" loose, that will stop the motor to not break the steering wheel system and show somehow a message saying that you lost
Amazing concept! I think it would be somewhat simple to accomplish, as long as you didn't have varying track speeds, as others have suggested. You'd simply need to make the stop switch a dual purpose switch that would unleash a tensioned (rubber band?) to drop a sign that was held by a trigger. The true challenge would be to make "YOU WIN!" sign. If I had anywhere close to as many Legos as I'd need to make something like this, I would certainly make a video and post it.
IMO Mega actually makes new molds to make parts seem more accurate. They might be the better building block brand. Also their brown bricks don’t snap like a crunchy leaf, Just thought I should point that out.

You can cross yellow lines if they aren’t double yellow and not dotted. If the line is dotted, that means you can cross the line.

That would probably cause the game to eventually be unwinnable due to sheer bad luck

that is impossible to do. you cant create a mechanism that removes tracks and puts another one on seamlessly, and can’t even store them anywhere
