I totally agree Hillbilly, I don't usually comment on vids but you're on to something pretty important. If society fails to where we have to hunt for food, society will be a mad max type. You will encounter gangs that form together to take from others, I ain't talking about cartel type of thing either, you're gonna see some really rotten people who have nothing but evil intentions. Also, think about your pets, (please pet your dogs when they sit with you, they're the most loyal and trustworthy over any man) and your livestock and how they are hungry and vulnerable to such things. It's a pretty scary thought once you really realize how dangerous and difficult it'll be. There will be no law there to help anyone cuz it'll all be bat shit crazy. A feller really should store things that grow fast and feed a lot, dry beans, alfalfa sprouts just to name a couple, One of the most critical thing people can store away is alcohol, booze. So alcohol can do many things, it can clean wounds on a bad day, can be a valuable trade asset, and can calm a wild one's nerves. Just a small example I guess. There's so many things we can over look that can save people lives and or help us along the journey. The most important of all, is community, I feel each community should start having people unite, learn skills, plant community gardens now, band together to protect each other and their assets. If you think the Wild west was rough in our American history, bro you ain't seen shit yet. Everything you can do now, do it, you'll be grateful that you did. Turn your phones off, or use it to gain knowledge, get out there and be productive, the times now. Coming from the sticks in Virginia, this hellbilly already be thinking outside the box. If you lose everything, don't worry, you still have God. Might be a good time to make amends with Him. Be safe, keep your blades sharp, your sights dialed and hope we can ride this out. Also, stock up on fish hooks, line.... I could go on for hours.

I cant go to any store without this conversation coming up. Yep i hear mostly people will hunt. I dont tell them theres always deer coming to my place for their evening snack lol ... but yeah no faith in that. Im not perfectly prepped but as good as this granny has been able to be. Where I live, the deer are so thick that were trying to miss them getting to work and back, but I have been told that during the depression you couldn't find a deer, rabbit, squirrel or anything around here! Crazy thought! The only sustainable meat during a full blown SHTF may be the Bad Guy that is trying to take what you have!!!
That's absolutely right. That's why fishing is another very important skill to have, fish are more available and more of them, considering the fact that you hopefully have access to a fishing area. Even those fishing places will be loaded with crazies behind the bushes waiting to bash your skull in when you reel one in. I know that sounds a little insane, but take a look at how society acts on black Fridays inside of Walmart when 50 inch tvs are on sale. They're like wild animals foaming at the mouths. Man I can't tell people how dangerous this could turn into.

Everyone thinks it's easy to hunt wild game. When hunting pressure is high, animals become hyper aware. Unless you're a really skilled hunter you won't be able to find anything. Now I do agree you can't solely depend on wild game. That's why you grow some of your own food. Keep chickens, rabbits, quail, hog or two if you have room. Always have a garden.

True, that's why learning to craft traps out of junk lying around is more important than most realize. My uncle showed me how to make a rabbit trap from an old mail box and I caught them everyday one spring, I turned them loose at the time but it was a skill I learned and still remember 40 years later.

I’m so glad I grew up in a family of home gardeners. I learned a lot from my father and grandfather. I wish the school’s would have gardens and teach the students the importance of gardening and preserving. If everyone in your neighborhood planted different types of fruit trees and shared, not only would we be healthier, but it also builds community which I think we lack so much these days. Grow more food than you think you could ever eat, and share. It doesn’t take that much. If you don’t use it all, it’s ok, it makes great compost for… “good Lord willing and the creeks don’t rise” next year’s crop.

Hunting can be a supplement, but not the complete solution for sure. It's my so very humble opinion that the usf n wildlife, and state run game and flesh is no longer working for the betterment of the wildlife. Even in low game populations doesn't slow down license sales, especially non-resident. Money is the key

We had a high on Tues. of 54F and ended up with frost. At 6am the temp yesterday was 34F, but when checking the garden, it appears we suffered very little frost damage. Our apple, pear and plum trees all have fruit, not heavy as in previous years but at least there is some to preserve. Hunting with population as high as it won't last long, and the animals will be gone. We had a young man who was hunting squirrels and in a matter of months there was not a squirrel in sight, now that he moved away, two yrs. later they are finally making a comeback, although minimal. LOL about as many sparrows as it would take for crappie to make a meal. We live on the Clark's Fork of the Yellowstone River, and it is very polluted with farm chemicals and run off, so we don't eat fish from our area, but we could go upriver where it's not polluted for fishing.
We have very little fruit on any of our trees 😔 and early on we were so excited and then it got COLD

Hi HB and good folks! I keep telling people that going all hunter gatherer where i am is just not an option as you can't even get more than 70 miles from the ocean here in the UK on these tiny islands.
All and any bush meat would be gone within a month at most.
And being as i can't move fast nor far now i have to accept whatever may be when it happens, in my own case of course.

Herbicide residue is in everything now, just enough to stunt plant growth and cause poor yields. It's in all brands sold at the store UNLESS the bags have certified labeling proving they test for it. Besides all commercial feed and fodder now come from grains sprayed with it, just enough to make our compost useless. Agenda

One could consider a good seed bank while you can still get them. Some foods can grow very fast and feed a few heads. One of those are alfalfa sprouts, no they aren't good but they'll keep you from starving until you can develop a system. They grow very fast and a great way to get something to eat. Most people can't identify them, so they really won't be stolen or what not. Food for thought? Possibly

Yeah would take a lot of sparrows to make anything. When I was small I used to stay in the woods hunting birds and then after, I would clean them and batter um up in flour and fry them. Only had meat as big as my thumb. And that was using a BB gun .
Thought about making a video on prepping up on BB guns for small game. Can get 6k bb s in a box . So tons of ammo right there.

Estimated whitetail deer in the USA is 30 million VS 320 million hungary Americans...deer herd would be deplete in the first year of a SHTF event..better acquire a taste for any wild meat. Better to be a warrior in a garden planting potatoes and green beans with a few hogs, chickens and rabbits!!!

It's sad to talk about but it has to be said. They don't teach you that in school. They said that the pigeons in the Ohio River valley where I grew up were so thick that they blocked out the Sun. They hunted them down to extinction of the carrier pigeon. I am jealous of your temps. It's so hot here. 65° is perfect. Anything over 70 is too hot to breath in this humidity. I'm in the house a lot. Out in the early morning and back out at dusk. We are having a drought right now so watering mornings and evenings has to be done. You take care.

I don't know man, people always take the path of least resistance. People these days for the most part don't have the skills to actually hunt. More likely they're going to be killing cows like crazy. And where I live there's lots of absentee ranchers who lease pasture and those who don't live next to their herds won't have any pretty quick.
Its a fact that there are way more cows in this country than there are deer, elk, and moose combined. And most livestock don't think of humans as a threat. I've had them come up to be petted. So cows are going to be rustled worse than in the old west. And then the ranchers will start shooting the rustlers. So that'll thin out the rustlers. (most ranchers here are well armed and have night vision to fight off the hogs and coydogs so they're used to hunting in the dark) Likewise they'll hit a lot of farmer's fields. But, I got doubts about them wiping out the wildlife.
In between them shooting livestock, ranchers shooting them, them shooting each other in competition for the livestock, and things like cholora and typhoid taking people out there might be more game left when its all said and done than you might think. Most country folk don't remember just how few hunters, let along successful hunters there are in this country. Most people live in cities and don't know shit about survival. So I'd be way more worried if I was a rancher.
The wildlife around here are dying; from the weather. Prairie dogs doin' pretty good, never have ate a prairie dog......yet. Maybe they go good with bacon?!
Prairie dog is great meat to eat, just make sure he wasn't living in pasture sprayed with grazon®️

It would also be a great temptation for those who would be following the Lord at that time. The word tells us that the time that is knocking at the door right now will be the worst that has ever been, up to this time. Including the time before the flood, when giants roamed the earth. Just hunting won't cut it. It will take 100% trust in the Lord. Period.

Yeah man scary times we're in right now for sure... idk what will happen or when or how good or bad it will be... but i do know Jesus and sometimes i forget that that's all i need to know. Amen brother, sometimes God will curse a land to bring people back closer to him. It's written all over the Bible, take a look at the plagues in Egypt for small example.
The book of Matthew says, the sparrows are always fed worms provided by God, everyday, aren't we worth more than sparrows? A prayer a day, won't always keep the devil away, but instead, provides the armor of God to help us fight battles spiritually and faithfully.
