Mountain living is hard. But you two make it seem so simple. I love the fact that you never seem to let things get you down. You and Miss Kitty need to stay in and enjoy your binge watching series and keep warm. I know you still have things you must do around the homestead but stay in as much as possible. Great team husband and wife.

That is exactly the problem....it's like a leaky roof, you don't think about it until it drips, and then it's too late. Always something else that needs fixed in the good weather. We only got about 3 inches, but the way it was snowing, I thought we were going to get a LOT more!
Oh my goodness. It is freezing here but no snow. It's beautiful before it gets all dirty. Just a pain to get things done. You sure are lucky to have that good woman.

We live in the city they are saying treacherous conditions here all over the news. There might have been 3" total the last couple of days. And that's scattered on the grass.the busy streets are clear , no snow anywhere. Chicago is a cesspool of crooks. Anyway, I love watching you and Ms.Kitty tinkering around your buildings. Love it! If you have a air compressor or a leaf blower you can blow all the snow off before it melts.

I thought the wind was going to rip my stovepipe right off the side of the cabin last night. I was actually scared to keep the fire going. Southwest GA. Rain also came in under the french doors in tiny house we are building (under 400 square feet). Our outdoor kitchen got soaked too. Thank goodness for plywood and screws. ❤
I am probably going to lose all my rabbit pelts i have tacked up with salt in the barn, they are dripping wet now.

Absolutely love you guys! My hubby and I use to chop wood, split wood, stack wood all the time… planted gardens all that good stuff till he got Parkinson’s… he’s only 63.. now we watch our grandkids (7) grow like weeds! You guys are awesome!

Wow you got a lot of snow! Looks like the same winds that we had yesterday. I had 55 mph gusts here in Eastern Washington. Stay warm!
When we bought our raw property and was buying a conex shipping container to store all our crap in (everything we owned) we got to thinking "what if it leaks?" We were buying something sight unseen, sure the company claimed no leaks etc etc, we bought a billboard tarp online for $90 , it was at least twice as long and wide as the 40ft conex we bought. The conex was perfect (except it smelled like actual death) this was during the beginning of Covid so I assumed meat at the port that stayed grounded or maybe worse........ Anyway, best 90 bucks we spent. That tarp has been cut numours times now. It covers three piles of wood and much much more.
We are still getting wind and rain, still no where near freezing yet.
Cold is coming here HB below zero a couple of days. Maybe snow??? LOL Y'all are a cute couple y'all. :-) Hope things stay dry HB. Stay warm you two. Have a blessed day!
Thinking of you during this "hell of a ride". Getting high winds here in NY today. Yesterday we had so much snow/rain mix that its made everything a sloppy mess. Thank God temps rose overnight or it would crimple everything. The powers that be sure have messed with mother nature and I am sure she is fighting back with a fury! Be safe & well my friends.

Take an air hose or leaf blower and blown it off your stuff before the snow melts. I use cardboard and alot of duct tape. We had 60 mile an hour winds with a typhoon and I had our stuff get wet. At least yours so far is snow.

@@IdahoHillbilly it makes you feel like sometimes your just doing it all for nothing. It's a neverending battle trying to keep the elements off of everything. And I know exactly what you mean, you make a list of to do things before the weather goes bad but it seems no matter how hard you work, it's never enough. Or you never get them done in time. I end up throwing alot of good things away. That I know would have sold or could've traded.
We just have to chunk it and get on with it.
