Since you specifically asked, i think there is still a big market für "old school" speakers with no wifi connectability or other fancy gadgets. I much prefer the plain and solid, sound-cost prioritising model, rather then the fancy "have a thousand applications and tell you the weatherforcast" device. All it should do is play music as best as possible. Everything added is raising the price and the margin of error.
I agree with you. This speaker is 50% in my country right now. And I can see why. What the hell is the point of it other than looking beautiful when there's so many great sounding speakers out there that can be played on battery and can connect into stereo
So I had an original Stanmore I (one??) and I LOVED it for years. I moved and gave it to my mom and after a year and a half I treated myself to an Acton III in my new smaller apartment and all I can say is WOW… the Acton III is WILDLY impressive and to be honest for its size savings and cost savings I can’t imagine the Stanmore being worth it. I feel like the choice really boils down to Acton III or go all in on Woburn III. 2 generations later and I can TOTALLY hear the upgrades in sound quality!
My choice was made between the woburn and the stanmore and I eventually didn't pick the woburn because it was a bit ovesized/priced for my intended use of a wireless speaker. And I definitely can tell the stanmore III sounds really great in my bedroom and helps me listening to my cds again through the RCA input. I'm just annoyed with the loss of bluetooth pairing that occurs when I don't use my pc after 10 minutes or so, forcing me to pair again, and the latency when watching a video. I think I'll keep the bluetooth for the smartphone, and plug the pc to the jack input. But yes, the Stanmore surely is the right choice for a bedroom!
The Action and Stanmore sounded more compressed compared to the Woburn through my Klipsch HP-3 headphones, I agree the Stanmore and Action sounded very similar to each other. The Woburn sounds like a winner but for the money it should.
I have two Woburn IIIs as a stereo pair with an external Bluetooth dac going to the left and right speakers with a RCA splitter at each speaker. Both are volume matched and it sounds awesome.
@@thefalliblebeliever3470 An ifi Zen One dac with left RCA to left speaker and right RCA to right speaker. At both speakers is a single to dual RCA cable so the signal goes to both left and right of each speaker. I then volume matched both speakers and control overall volume with the dac.

Quality review Aaron. Nice to hear you’ve noticed some improvement in the mids, it’s the one area Marshall speakers disappoint in previous models so fingers crossed they continue to improve. Keep up the great content 👍🏼
@@aaronloudnwireless Will you be reviewing the JBL Authentic 500? I'm curious of your thoughts on how you think it sounds, and how it compares to the Woburn 3.
Woburn III is definitely the better sounding and clearer of the 3. The Acton and Stanmore sounded exactly alike to me. Will definitely be buying the Woburn III.
They are BT LE however , which makes it a first. This will allow for multi room set up. So I suspect Marshall are backing this option rather than wifi as a simplistic set up.
I’ve got action 3 and Woburn 3 and obviously the Woburn is better but I won’t let my action 3 go because it really is good for the size and price, Stanmore is same as action but is a bit louder.
At first, my choices were between Stanmore and Woburn. In terms of sound quality, Woburn definitely nailed it, but it's too big and bulky, and it doesn't really aesthetically fit in my room. Then I found out that Marshall has another model named Acton. I'm getting an Ikea Vittsjo shelf just like the one in the video 0:30 , both Stanmore and Acton fit perfectly on the shelf. Now my choices will be between Acton and Stanmore.
I have a Kilburn 2 portable speaker currently. And I am looking to stack up another Marshall speaker along with it to play songs on both the speakers. Can you help clarify which all Marshall speakers can be stacked together with Kilburn 2?
@Aaron X Loud and Wireless, Could you confirm what material is used on the speaker driver? Is it paper cone or Kevlar or any other material? Why does this information is not available even in Marshall site?

Woburn II it has a brutal difference. between Action and stanmore , i only feel the base, but when you play Woburn, all the sound changes. I will go for this one.
Whats the difference between these speakers and sound bars ? Somebody please explain. I just want to experience a good sound stage, not that much keen on bass but want the sound to be pure. hello, could you please advise if you would have to choose sony XV500 or any of the marshall speaker, which one would you chose?? Please answer! Thanks in advance 😊
Which one should I buy, what do you recommend? I want to pair it with a Rega Planar 2 record player, I would listen mostly to hip hop, I like good and strong bass :), it would be placed in a room of 18m2
If these were portable / battery powered I could use them. The couple of battery / portable products they have are great, but they need to expand that line to deliver the kind of performance their wall-power products offer
Even worse that all the Marshall III-line speakers does not have WiFi streaming, the Stanmore II does have great WiFi streaming support AND multi-room. Why would anyone REMOVE great features like that?? Makes no sense to me. Now I need to replace my two beloved Stanmore II, and there is nothing from Marshall that can do what these did 5 years ago!! Come on Marshall!! 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I saw the video and thank you but I have a question. I currently live mainly in an apartment. On low volume would you still recommend the Woburn or can I take the little ones? I really like the mids and in the Acton II they were very poor. Do you think Woburn is too much for an apartment?
Quite recently ... 3 months ago or so ... I asked Marshall support if they are planning to add AAC support to their speakers. They replied that there is no such plan at the moment.
All Marshalls sound very good but they're a bit over-priced. That Acton is a 'portable' so it is strange that it doesn't have a strap. The Kilburn wins over the Acton, a strap is necessary.
For anyone wondering it is a huge disappointment, "it fills the room" they say... it barely fills 30 Square meters. The bass is so bad it doesn't even make the leaf blow. Also the sound is so sharp even with treble at 0 some songs screams like nails on the chalkboard. This was the greatest disappointment of a speaker purchase in my life. Absolutely no doubt about that, I'm so disappointed by the performance of this (i would even call it a speaker) that I will stay as far from Marshall products as possible. I will never touch their products again. I purchased this product from a verified Marshall vendor too, brand new, $600. I've never purchased Marshals products before also, so I wouldn't say I had any bias towards them. This product definitely sucks, so I'll be returning it back tomorrow morning. This also makes me loose all my respect to these "TH-cam partners channels" claiming it to be "the deal". What a joke, y'all must be paid and bought for by Marshall. Anyway, I'll never come back to any of these types of channels nor buy any marshall products ever again. I just hope for anyone caring to read this, please stay away from this garbage brand. I heard rumours that they were sold to someone else, maybe this is the reason they are now terrible? I don't know. I also can't say anything about the other models as I haven't tried them. However, for sure stay away from Wooburn III its a scam!
