I own the Woburn, the Stanmore, the Acton, the Killburn II and the Tufton. First of all the Stanmore is the greatest sound for large rooms, better than the Woburn that has a bit of distortion in bass when played loud. You have to compensate with the bass and treble knobs to have the right sound out of it. The Stanmore is ready for high volume and less distortion out of the box.. The Acton is a great speaker, it’s cheaper than the Stanmore and Woburn but it’s not as loud as them. It has great sound though! The Killburn II is one the best portable speakers out there because of it’s size and weight. It also does a good job in large rooms. I don’t agree with the review (“sounds like a box”). No way, it has a clear thick sound and I prefer it over the Tufton because of it’s size. When you talk about portable speakers like the Killburn II and the Tufton you have to talk about size and weight. The Tufton is great, it’s fucking loud but not very portable.
@@edgarin i’m conflicted. I’ve been seeing that many people are saying that the stanmore 2 is muffled and not great. Is this something that I can adjust with the treble, bass, etc? I really care for clarity and bass. I don’t want to go up to the woburn, it’s too big for my needs. The acton and stanmore is sized perfectly, any feedback you can give me? I’m a big fan of classic rock, pop, metal, and hip hop. I really want to enjoy the music.
@@eddiecano154 you should go with the Stanmore. Many people like listening to music with high bass. If that’s your case Marshall is not for you. If you enjoy classic rock, metal, hard rock, punk the Stanmore is going to be the best option in reproducing the guitar tones. You will enjoy it. But if you also you need bass you should look for the AUDIOPRO Drumfire. It’s expensive but it worths the money. Anyway, the Stanmore is pretty loud you won’t be disappointed.
Just got 1 yesterday and my wife's home decor tastes(impossibly hard for me to guess when buying things) was pleased and actually she put it front and center on our entertainment system! Thank you marshall! Hahaha
I was reserved about Marshall, but year ago bought emberton and it's gently surprised me. Clear, loud and music is also really good out of it's small size. And now Woburn III is back in business. Only one small stain is that if there are two competitors for bluetooth, then woburn wants so badly to be bonded with Android Box, not phone. To avoid that power on/of and quickly hit play button helps.
Great review. I’ve been torn between the Stanmore and Acton but I’m 99% sure the Acton is the better buy. Smaller, cheaper and sounds almost identical.
I ended up ordering both the Acton III and Stanmore III, weirdly I much prefer the sound of the Acton, it seems to get just as loud as the Stanmore, and it sounds better too. The Stanmore almost sounds a bit muffled compared to the brighter sounding Acton. Needless to say, the Stanmore is on its way back to Marshall.
@@jaypalmer3806 Are you sure ACTON III sounds better than STANMORE III? Because I’m in the same dilemma right now and don’t know what to get, because its just $60 difference between the 2 speakers currently where I live! Please let me know 🙏
I have two white Stanmore II in my living room and I absolutely love the rich sound and the look of them. Since a while I also got two Emberton 2 which I use in the bath and floor to listen to the radio when I get myself ready in the morning. Great sound for such tiny portably speakers.
I dont agree about Stockwell 2. For me it fills à room With sound better than emberton 2 With More punch and More natural sound. And at highest volume Emberton losses allmost all base stockwell still produces base. Owning them both and both are Amazing
I just bought the Willen. I was looking for a smaller speaker with real nice sound. Was thinking JBl but the ones with the same size as Willen just sounded bad, as if sound was played in a box, very hollow. Then I recognized the marshall logo on the Willen and tried it out.... Full, round sound, less bass than the Jbl but for me that is a plus since i often also listen to r&b and indie style of songs that are more vocal&melody heavy rather than bass heavy! Also a very clear sound! And to me the volume is great.the silent is actually very silent & the loudest for me&my kind of use is more than loud enough!! I also chose the Willen one bc of price... I wanted to stay under 100 euros (86) and others that were around 50/60 just sounded bad.... As a non music/sound expert, bur someone who loves music & listens to it daily but does not have the space for a bigger speaker..this one is great tbh😊
My opinion is though; if you’re gonna spend $450 on a Bluetooth speaker, why not drop the dough on a home audio system with wired speakers? My parents had some speakers(I wish they or I remembered the brand/model!) and a Sony amp; that shit was ridiculous! The speakers also had an awesome feature(that my naivety prevents me from knowing if it was commonplace) where they’d shut off and need to be reset by a button; rather than blowing… Anyway, I’m drunk. High quality sound is so much more important! If you know, you know!
Just your smart phone, and one or if you want, two speakers. Plus, any music subscription, and you have your stereo system, that's portable. I don't know if they're separate Bluetooth bass speakers out there.
The tufton is by far my favorite. The sound beats every other speaker I’ve ever owned. It’s great for all places and has great battery life. My second favorite is the emberton 2. This thing is prob the best bang for your buck. Super portable and amazing sound/bass. I used the stack mode with the emberton and 2 of them sound insane. As far as the strap for the Willen, it works great and you can hook it on sooo much stuff. It lacks that bass punch most people would expect for paying $100 but quality is there. Ip rating is good too
I got acton and stanmore models. Acton still sounds better than stanmore to me.....i think that acton has internal dimensions better designed providing very good reverberation of bass. Sound amplification is more accurate too with the better choice of frequency division between the tweeters and the woofer.

Marshall was good with sound design but bad with bluetooth connectivity and their bluetooth app.
Hi Danny. Not sure you'll see or reply to this comment, and maybe others can help, but is the Kilburn II really a bad speaker? I've read a few honest reviews and watched some on TH-cam and they aren't recommended, yet they seem the perfect size and weight for me. I'm not sure on what to pick. I'm not fussed about taking it outside really, but I'd like to move around the house taking it with me, and I can't see myself doing that with their homeline speakers.

Hey Danny, great review! I am stuck inbetween getting a stanmore 2 or acton 3, I was able to find both for similar prices. But you've mentioned in your previous videos that the sound on stanmore 2 is slightly muddy - the trebles are suppressed by the bass - Which one would you recommend? Is it worth getting the stanmore 2 just for the 50W woofer? Thanks!
Yeah thats a hard one. I personally would choose the acton iii for clearer sound. Bass is good enough on it that you won't be getting that much better until you step up to woburn.
How well does the emberton handle voice only audio, like podcasts and audiobooks? I just bought some alexa speakers but I'm not too fond with having a smart speaker.
Hi Danny! Great job on your reviews, definitely feel like you get to most of the information I’m looking for in portable Bluetooth speakers. This might explain why one speaker sounds fuller or why it may cost more than another. Second piece of information I don’t hear much about is quality of sound at different volume levels. Usually reviews only talk about how loud it can get. I don’t usually listen to my music at full volume but do want to know how loud I have to turn it up in order to get to the threshold where I can begin to hear the music fully. Does the included app have loudness compensation and at what volume levels is it useful? Essentially, volume ranges for sound quality of each speaker. Another testing site talks about the Emberton II “as the bass often sounding limited, as if someone kept turning the bass knob down for loud passages.” Is this at any volume level or only above 80% or 90% to keep the speaker from distorting the sound? I think you get the idea that complete volume levels are important in determining the sound quality of each speaker. Any idea where the Middleton would land? Above the Embertons?
Yeah its an emberton plus
I am so confused between acton 3 and tufton pls help
Can you review the soundboks go? I'm curious how it performs against the Tufton.
Thanks
I asked soundboks to consider sending a sample and they ignored me.
How much of a difference is there between the Acton II and Acton III? I am seeing the Acton II on sale right now, but don't want to buy an inferior speaker that will leave me wanting an upgrade within a couple of years.
I think you'll find the acton 3 is a superior speaker.
Emberton 2 or acton 3 pls suggest
I just love the acton 2 and emberton
that yellow clock, where did you get it?????
It was one of the IKEA one offs, so not sure… maybe eBay?
acton iii or stanmore iii? :(
Saludos

Make review on cheap smart watches
Which has aux?
Nice shirt! Where can I find one?!
Where will you place middleton
this ^
Sad that on newer Marshalls they removed line in👎🏻
The emberton is the cheapest(I think?) that thing puts out and has lots of bass! It makes my mid grade JBL sound like a joke!
Willen too bad in some music you can't hear some sounds.
Thank you 🙏 from 🇫🇷
Thanks for the reviews (seen a few of yours over here in the UK) now I've gone form spending £200 to £500!!! lol.
Hey, I just want a speaker for when i’m tidying around the house and things, should I go with emberton 1, emberton 2 or Acton 3? Thanks
Hmmmm maybe the emberton 2 since it's mobile.
@@DannyPops Thanks 😊
