What a refreshing and inspirational video! Most of the time, I see discussions and videos on using delay and reverb pedals with synths, while EQ pedals are quite underrated. Thanks for sharing this with us!
maybe a tough sell to get 2 but for one of them it's definitely worth it, for me at least. It's less than half the price of 500 series rack gear, and less than a quarter of traditional analog rack gear. For pure analog EQ with 7 bands, its a steal

Rack gear is awesome! Bucket list to own a real stereo Distressor one day, and a real 1176 (my two fave compressors ever). I also really enjoy my little 500 series rack for vocals. But, for playing live, and for in the moment sound design, pedals are king IMO. Thanks for watching and welcome to the channel!
I have the first edition and love it for synths & drums always been tempted by a second, but bought this Russian beast of a stereo PEQ pedal that has been freezing in Siberia (seriously!!!) since the 50’s 😮 need to find the right adapter but am kinda scared to plug it in ⚠!!

But ive just looked through my reverb history & its an Elektronika E-02 (1985 not 50s got that wrong) USSR era, have read that we use the same voltage in the u.k or near enough but need to replace the cable & find an adapter. Cool thing is its got faders for each channel. Looking forward to it but slighty apprehensive!!! Officially my oddest pedal!
It's sad you actually need 2 of these for stereo setups. If you don't mind about going digital, there are cheaper stereo (graphic) EQ alternatives such as the Boss EQ-200 or the Zoom MS-70CDR. Both let's you store presets too!
Hi! I use pedals for shaping my sound what is coming out from my MPC than go to DAW! So no guitar here just beats. But my other pedals are stereo. EQ pedals is MONO. How to connect them together?Is it ok to stereo to mono than stereo again?Do i will loss something from my music? thanks for your help!
You need to put this at the start of your chain if you use other stereo pedals, that's why I used 2 of them here. If they ever make a Stereo version of this, get that, but this is currently the best analog EQ pedal for synths on the market even with it being mono!

I've been making computer music since FL was called fruityloops .. collected some hardware and synths in late 2000s and sold it all when computers could actually start to handle lots of RAM ... all I can say is you inspired me to spend 5k at Sweetwater this week ... cheers brother lol
@@devinbelangermusic yeeeah been wanting EQ pedals for a while.... got a good deal on a pair. Might just resell them as my real objective is to get a pair of GigaPara pedals from Sineeffects. but the deal was too good to pass up.
no it's mono, which is why I'm using 2 in the stereo synth demo. a stereo version would have to be larger and much more expensive since it's 2x all the filters.
I think for an analog EQ this is pretty hard to beat price/sound wise but I definitely agree, a big rack or mixer EQ is probably better ergonomically to use
@@devinbelangermusic what I meant is that one can probably get very similar result with digital mixer eq + some sort of overdrive unit for maybe 1/4 price of dual Para EQ and get something more exciting for those remaining 3/4 😁 great tips anyways, it inspired me to unlink the stereo channels and experiment with tweaking each channel slightly differently
because it's analog circuitry, you'd need literally twice as many capacitors and transistors, you can't just add a second input and output for true stereo.

Meh. I bought and returned it. It sounded better when it was bypassed- fuller. Never really got good tones out of it (guitar.) Could just be me but I did try- watched videos. It was quite at least. Maybe good if around $100- no way $349- at least not for me.
That's fair! EQ on guitar isn't something I use much for tracking either, just in post after. That's why I demo'd this with synths, I think its great for that.

Agreed for digital, but for analog like this it literally would double every single part required and make it bigger and more expensive.
So for example on a Roland Jupiter 4 , stereo poly analogue, you wouldn’t mind loosing the stereo ?
Will this work with using a midi piano (not synth) but for equing regular keyboard play?
You would need an audio interface to send out sound from your daw/midi keyboard triggers, in through the pedal then out back into your computer

there are probably better tools to buy it one has digital mixer / interface with 4-band PEQ

I dont get it, using two mono, why not buy an stereo EQ? a "deluxe" version witch still mono 😂 i'll pass.
