I was planning to do the same, but decided on the Source Audio EQ2, instead. Two separate programmable EQs that can be controlled with an external expression pedal is too cool 🤘
@@derek_d that one was right up there when I was making my choice. The fact you get 2 in 1 is awesome to run one in the loop and one up front was definitely appealing!
I'm building basically my 1st pedal board in 35 years as I've played Bass in bands since the 90's. While I still have all of my pedals when I was a teenager in the 80's I've been looking for an EQ and a boost and your demo has convinced me to look into this pedal more but I think my mind is pretty much made up. I'm also an amp tech and really want to see how it can make my 1950's converted tube PA amps sound with this. Great video and thanks for the head's up. Edit: Just found you on Instagram and followed you there!
Excellent pedal, reminds me of the Horizon Devices Precision Overdrive pedal. This pedal sounds perfect for removing the woofy lows and tighten the low end right up. Thanks for putting this on my next pedal list.
Thank you so much for this video! I'm kinda in love with this pedal for a while now and I wanted to see a video of someone using exactly this way you used because this is the way I would use it. So much range in it. Thank you again and keep on doing good videos! Cheers from Brazil!
I've been using a Wampler EQuator (Eq/boost) for a quite a few years now and it's been great. After hearing this I may be due for a bit of an upgrade. I really like the switchable boost.
This pedal is quite the premium product. That being said I've been using the boss eq200 here lately. When I found out I could use it both in front of my amp AND in the fx loop at the same time, oh it was game over. I had to have one. And then for the bonus its fully midi programmable. So I'm able to have completely different settings for both in front and behind my amp on clean channels and my different drive channels. I even have one setting for cutting all my lows and highs and boosting the mids to get that megaphone effect. I think if more people knew about how flexible eq pedals can be, they would all have them. A good eq pedal and proper use of it can make almost any amp sound exactly the way you want.
Great pedal! I have an Orange Two Stroke pedal which is also a parametric EQ, though it deals with the high and lows, no mids, but is also a lot cheaper…it does have a boost too… the Orange is a great sounding pedal with a lot of tone shaping ability, but if I had the money, this one gives you more control. EQ pedals are the least sexy pedals, but are the most powerful and my favorite.
Hey Jon! That Invader has a great clarity with a unique richness over my monitors. It's familiar, yet new. Sounds amazing with that EQ. You ever think of checking out the Victory Sheriff? Seems to be an interesting take on the hot rod Marshall.
I own the previous version of this pedal. For some reason, the fact that it's parametric has led me to always use it in the loop (even though my MXR 10-band EQ is a staple in front of my amp). Interesting to see if used only in front of the amp in a video. It works amazingly well to fine tune an amp's tone in the loop.
This pedal change my world . I mean a good eq like the mxr10beq on the fx loop makes me achieve the sound it's in my head. All amps are diferente and on the fxloop it's like kind add more personality to that flavor
Any thoughts of running it through the effects loop? I've had good success with my 5150ii and JSX getting the tone better through the effects loop or do you always go in front of the amp?
You can easily scope the 33 pedal with this + every other boost pedal basically. 33 is a one trick pony. (But check Source Audio EQ2 before getting this).
So much powerrrrr! Thoughts?
I think one of these in the effects loop of a fireball will make it a cheaper powerball with more shaping options.
WoW! That Makes A Killer Sound Way Better! 🤘🏻
How's it sound through a Dual rectifier?
@@James3II3 how ever you want it to sound! That's the beauty of a pedal like this
I'm really happy that you use the Invaders 950. François is doing an amazing job with the repair - and the building of these amazing amp.
Amazing amps!
Man, I love your videos! The gear is always phenomenal, but your riffs it’s what makes me watch every single video until the end!
Best EQ pedal out right now. I upgraded to one from a MXR 10 band and it’s insane the amount of time control and shaping this thing is capable of.
I'll be goddamned. I guess I'll be doing the same. Current 10 Band MXR user.
@@ESPspiderXIII definitely pricey, but it’s the last EQ pedal you’ll ever need lol

Would argue that that honor goes Source Audio EQ2. Not just much more parametric control, but everything is MIDI programmable as presets.
This eq pedal is always on my board! one of the most important pedals I own! Extremely useful!
Best pedal ever. This and my Cali76 stacked are in love with each other.

Did you pick one up? I just did today!

Wow!!!!! I am blown away. I need that pedal!!!! Thank You. 👊🏽 👊🏽👊🏽

EQ should be one of the first pedals anyone gets. This pedal looks and sounds amazing.
The 8 string tone could be the best tone you've ever achieved in this channel. Truly amazing! Which IR were you using for that?
Dude, your riffs are always awesome! Nice demo!

I am intrigued! How do you get it to set up where it's a different EQ for in front and behind?

I have it, and it makes a bad amp good, a good amp great, and a great amp godly!!!🤘🤘🤘
I freak8ng love this pedal só much I may buy another one
Make a program about connecting and combining heads, thank you dear
Nice riffing!
Seriously - when are you gonna release an album?
Estoy entre comprar este pedal y el mxr10band, como tu fuiste usuario de ambos pedales ¿ podrias sugerirme uno?
Like i've been saying all along. Forget mythical tonewood. Forget changing pickups.. Get a boost and an EQ and go..
Any thoughts of running it through the effects loop? I've had good success with my 5150ii and JSX getting the tone better through the effects loop or do you always go in front of the amp?
great channel bruh...preQ or loop..what's your preference?
Pre
Bad Cat Lynx 50H in the future perhaps?
Would love to
Can it be used as a preamp?
Where did you connect the eq front or send return?
Would you use this over a Fortin amp 33 pedal?

Anyone used one with a 5150 III 6L6 50 watt?
Yup, really brings out the tones in the amp.
I have the original. It is instant chug if you want
good stuff but over $400 for an eq pedal is ridiculously expensive.
Using EQ is cheating. Real tone comes amp in the room sound using a phone mic.
