Hi Matt. I have a question :) I'm diffuse thinning and I'm 20 yrs old that sucks... I hopped on min 1 months ago and no sides so far. But I'm wondering if I should hop on fin too. Beacuse people say min wont be enough to protect what I have. I'm so confused rn. What should I do ?
Het matt, quick qeustion. I contacted pharmacie darwin for the tropical finasteride you recommended in a previous video. They send me an email with all the different kinds of finasteride. Can you please provide which one exactly you got as the tropical solution?
I'm glad to see you are actually being very cautious about oral minoxidil (you are not taking it as a joke like soooo many people do). First I thought you were just going into oral minoxidil just to blindly follow the hype and I was kinda annoyed about that . But I was wrong and I can see that you are absolutely not promoting oral minoxidil . Great video 👍
Great video Matt. Love that you are giving very honest opinions and taking oral minox very cautiously. I've seen numerous posts recommending higher doses of oral minox because that can increase hair gains. However, as you mentioned, oral minox is not a drug that can be taken at whatever dose you want because of side effects. People need to be more cautious like you are with handling oral minox. Hair gain is important, but not as important as your heart.
Look up "Evidence Based Hair - Season 2, Episode 2" on the channel Donovan Medical. He talks about accidental oral minoxidil overdose and what happened to the patients. He mentions someone who took 1000x the recommended dose.
Dude. You beat baldness! I'm dying here using Rogaine, Nizoral, finasteride, microneedling and I'm still looking like your before pic. I just got an EKG, ECG, and stress test. I am taking 2.75mg oral minoxidil with 5mg biotin compounded. My hair doctor has found that with 1mg the effects were not as strong but from his patients he has had great success with the 2.75mg. If you feel 1mg is as effective then the lowest dosage is always the best route.

When i started minoxidil 5%solution i had pretty good results in the first two years with no side effects except dry skin on my face, but i guess the body adapts to every drug over time and i've had less and less effectiveness over the years. So at year 4 i've increased the dose to 7,5% ( my lokal farmacy mixes the solution for me) to get the results back. Still no significant side effects but more swelling of the face and especially under the eyes. Last year I've started dermarolling with a 1,5mm roller to increase the minoxidil effectiveness cause i was again seeing a decline of new hair growth. But that's where some major heart problems started for me. I had severe heart arrythmia especially when i was sleeping, to the point where i woke up in the middle of the night sweating profusely with chest pain and palpitations. Doctor said if it got any worse i would need a heart pacemaker ( i dont drink and dont smoke) After that shock i stopped minoxidil entirely for some time, and now i'm trying to get back on 2,5% cause my heart went back to pretty much normal a month after i stopped. What i'm trying to say is please be very careful with the oral minoxidil cause there is obviously a threshold of how much of the substance can be absorbed into the bloodstream before the heart problems start.
You increased your dose not because ur body adapted and some how the monoxide became less effective. @@noelpina7680 you used bottox, that’s the biggest mistake you made mate. Worst thing to do. Sunscreen, moisturizer if you start in your early 20s you should be good
Someone said this already but 2.5-5 mg I believe is what 1ml of 5% topical minoxidil has. So what you're taking is less than what a topical 2% solution would be. You should just get the topical minoxidil + finasteride. 5% minoxidil, 0.1% finasteride. Twice a day. The most effective thing and you're pretty much guaranteed to avoid any side effects, unless you're truly unlucky to get sides from topical minox (face swelling) which you can still avoid if you reduce the concentration to 2-3%. As for the topical formulation you'll have to have it compounded by the pharmacy and use a higher alcohol proportion to allow absorption faster and eliminate the grease. I have something like that compounded for me, it takes less than 2 minutes for it to be absorbed by the skin and leaves no trace and no smell. Extremely comfortable to put on your head, I can literally take a shower, put it on my head after and before I'm out the bathroom door it's completely absorbed, nobody knows and easy to integrate in your life since there's literally no hassle.
dude it doesn’t matter if its less because the mechanism of absorption is the reason why oral minoxidil works better than the topical version. your body will absorb a much higher amount of the minox. orally rather than topically
@@heyitsjay6395 Read the studies, the best results are obtained with doses between 2.5-5mg. And it doesn't have to do with how much you absorb, it has to with Minox becoming a sulfate which is what ends up opening the potassium channels and enlarging the blood vessels. Topically you may be a non responder because you lack the enzyme which transforms Minox to its sulfate. But in the liver you will surely do that. That is the only difference. The drug's half life is also much shorter in the blood (4hours) than on the scalp (22hours). Reason why he's probably doing 1mg is because he doesn't want to become a monkey. Im looking to get FUT at 24(almost 25). Im around nw3-4 and I am seeing myself with nw6 in future. Do you think it's good idea to combine FUT with FUE to get out more grafts? Or the scar is not worth it?
You use medication? In my opinion not worth it so young. FUT can cause miniurization under the scar, so you lose the donor area left right under the scar. Also you probably will want to fill the scar up at some point with beard gradts because you won't like it per se. Better get good (!!!) FUE, no hairmill.
Are you already stable with hair loss? when your pattern is so agresive first you have to control it, then see if you can do some recovery and then you think for a HT. If you do it so young without the correct protocols you're gonna regret it. There's plenty of guys who rushed things and they loss it almost everything and now their donor is screwed. Wish you luck
Can you speak to the the equivalency of the mg vs the %? For example, Is 5% topical solution the same as 5mg oral? Do you know what your 1mg oral dose is equivalent to vs the topical %? Thanks!
Great vid update. Does anyone know who will prescribe it off label in the United States? I tried multiple derms and they are all being overly guarded and don't want to do it. I have an appointment for JAN 3rd (earliest I could get) with Dr. Tosti in Miami and she is very pro oral minoxidil for hair loss, but I don't want to wait that long to obtain the pills. If I can do a telehealth with any DR. in the US who will prescribe it that would be great. Thanks in advance for everyone's time and help.
Important question; what is the science of the following; can oral minoxidil be taken along with topical minoxidil at the same time? Or would that be an overdosage that could cause health problems?
Depends what doze, no it would not be overdozing since the bad sides only come from the oral for the most part. if u are taking 5 mg daily theres no point on using topical minoxidil , it woudnt do much efficasy wise.
matt, would you recommend oral minoxidil as a replacement for finasteride ? I haven't seen any real results from 1mg finasteride after 1 year usage and would like to try oral min
Never give up on finasteride thinking it doesn't work (that's a common HUUUGE mistake). You might think finasteride is not working but most of the time finasteride doesn't regrow any hair (all it does it to stop or at least slow down by a lot your hairloss). If you ever stop finasteride : you will go bald super fast and 5 years later you will come back saying : " I wish I didn't stop taking finasteride ". Please keep using finasteride.
So don't use " oral minoxidil as a replacement for finasteride " ! Maybe go for oral minoxidil on top of finasteride (use both at the same time). Ps : topcial minoxidil once a day at night (then wash your hair in the morning and you are good to go with your day) could be a great option as well (and also more safe).
For most of the guys yes, because they have less side effects. By a small percentage of guys it makes no difference in terms of side effects. Effectiveness is the same from what I have witnessed so far
Doctors prescribe 2.5 mg per day. Lower than that is less effective. + a treatment of only 4 months is not conclusive. In my opinion you rushed it up, in order to get rid of the minoxidil (you are probably afraid of it long term) and do this video. No assessment of hairloss treatments taken less than 6 months should be taken seriously.
Why take this over Finasteride if it’s going to effect your heart? I mean wtf? Fin works great. Are you planning to just live to be 60 or shooting for centenarian? Like myself. I know you kids think life is over after 30 or 40 😂 think again. At least you will think again, trust me. And if it doesn’t effect your heart now and your only 30, what do you think 70 years on that drug will do to your heart? I can tell you this, you won’t be around 70 more years to answer that question
😂 bro I just started on topical minoxile and finesterdie had slight pain on left arm and small pain on left chest what shall I do carry on? But will go cardiologist after two months

1 mg is very low dose and in the studies is not deemed to be effective, you need to take 2.5-5 mg max to get the most benefit from this medication. Dr couto who I had a consult with even said that to me recently
If you combine it with Fin/Dut it can work, it's completly dependend to how the individual reacts
Matt! What is the cost of these things? I see it’s 100 gels per bottle. But how much for each of the bottles? Thanks! 🙏🏼
I have heard before 1 month we should stop finesteride for planning pregnancy does we should also stop oral minoxdil before 1 month planning for pregnancy
Can you please get blood tests with 0.025 topical fin . Also does topical fin not work because it was only used in one spot in the study so that means each spot on the scalp needs 0.025? Which would be an even higher concentration
you didn"t get more body hair/ facial hair than with the topical version? i get bad facial hypertrichossi from the topical( maybe dripping) would i get less taking the oral version? you didn't get unwanted body hair while on topical? thanks
Go FUE, you could be completely bald by 35 and have that nasty linear scar.
Maybe if the body hair thickens, some of those hairs are more viable for hair transplants??
Can you speak to the the equivalency of the mg vs the %? For example, Is 5% topical solution the same as 5mg oral? Do you know what your 1mg oral dose is equivalent to vs the topical %? Thanks!
Hi Matt, can you please tell me where you buy your oral Minoxidil?. Thank you.
Pharmazie Darwin in Belgium
where can i buy oral minox?
Ideally via pharmacy + doctor prescription
@@letsgethair nothing comes up, whats the website?
@@ecko5127 There's no website. Go to a doctor and get a prescription, then take it to a pharmacy.
How can i get this tablets
Great vid update. Does anyone know who will prescribe it off label in the United States? I tried multiple derms and they are all being overly guarded and don't want to do it. I have an appointment for JAN 3rd (earliest I could get) with Dr. Tosti in Miami and she is very pro oral minoxidil for hair loss, but I don't want to wait that long to obtain the pills. If I can do a telehealth with any DR. in the US who will prescribe it that would be great. Thanks in advance for everyone's time and help.
Hi Matt, appreciate if you can share where I can buy this online ? ( needs to be ship to Hong Kong ) thanks v much
Try some Asian doctors like Pathomvanich and ask for a prescription. Then have it shipped from Thailand
@@letsgethair thx Matt, so i will just be straight to the point and ask Dr Pathomvanich for a prescription directly ?
from where can I buy this mate please help me

@Forward To The Past Unlikely
It will work even when you take .625. You only need a very small amount of oral to work
I’m 4m in and the results look really horrible. It’s way too overhyped.
My concern would be doing lasting damage just for some short term hair gains.
Important question; what is the science of the following; can oral minoxidil be taken along with topical minoxidil at the same time? Or would that be an overdosage that could cause health problems?
Depends what doze, no it would not be overdozing since the bad sides only come from the oral for the most part. if u are taking 5 mg daily theres no point on using topical minoxidil , it woudnt do much efficasy wise.
your not supposed to..You can get sick from to much minoxidil, take one or the other..
matt, would you recommend oral minoxidil as a replacement for finasteride ? I haven't seen any real results from 1mg finasteride after 1 year usage and would like to try oral min
The results are probably stopping your hairloss
No one is a growth stimulant and one is a DHT blocker
Never give up on finasteride thinking it doesn't work (that's a common HUUUGE mistake). You might think finasteride is not working but most of the time finasteride doesn't regrow any hair (all it does it to stop or at least slow down by a lot your hairloss). If you ever stop finasteride : you will go bald super fast and 5 years later you will come back saying : " I wish I didn't stop taking finasteride ". Please keep using finasteride.
@@CidHerp absolutely
So don't use " oral minoxidil as a replacement for finasteride " ! Maybe go for oral minoxidil on top of finasteride (use both at the same time).
Ps : topcial minoxidil once a day at night (then wash your hair in the morning and you are good to go with your day) could be a great option as well (and also more safe).
Have you ever heard of Neo Hair Lotion?
What is the cost of a prescription? Cheers
it is free but you have to often times pay a fee for the consultation with a doc who gives it to you
Can you give blood while talking oral minoxidil ?
I am taking and reviewing Minoxidil oral form also on my channel. So far so good! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Is oral minoxidil available in the US?
Yes
So 1 mg 2.5mg?
Will you stay on 1 mg ? I had a thought you were taking it twice a day ?
no, only once a day
Is topical fin better than oral fin?
For most of the guys yes, because they have less side effects. By a small percentage of guys it makes no difference in terms of side effects. Effectiveness is the same from what I have witnessed so far
I use both 😂
@@Asiansxsymbol are you limp down there? Lol
Are you using hair fibers in this video matt?
No I would never wear them in my hair demonstration video, doesnt make sense
Doctors prescribe 2.5 mg per day. Lower than that is less effective. + a treatment of only 4 months is not conclusive. In my opinion you rushed it up, in order to get rid of the minoxidil (you are probably afraid of it long term) and do this video. No assessment of hairloss treatments taken less than 6 months should be taken seriously.
Is 1.25mg once a day a good dose to start? I don't plan on to increase the dosage.
Yes. I am taking 1.25 from 9 months with finasteride. Excellent results with no side effects.

It works though dude
@@chucktaylor9494 Yes you will have a nice full head of hair in your coffin.
😂 bro I just started on topical minoxile and finesterdie had slight pain on left arm and small pain on left chest what shall I do carry on? But will go cardiologist after two months
Can you combine oral minoxidil with oral finasteride. Or is it better 3months on fina then 3 months on minoxidil and switch again?
no you can combine it for sure! I would not be switching them every 3 months
you should be on extreme makeover
One whole year with 100 pills?? How are you taking them?
No I have many of these 100 pill boxes
Tocotrienols thicken hair.
Looks like u did hair transplant already

How can this guy try so many drugs?
This isn't it
