It’s amazing how there was no Reardon-Davis, Davis-Hendry, or Hendry-O’Sullivan world final. We can only wonder how they’d have been. I suspect Davis would have beaten Reardon and Hendry would have beaten Davis and also O’Sullivan.
@@pondermatic yeah good point.reardon had a good record against davis.yeah hendry could really step it up in the big events as does ronnie.reardon was a great tactical player but he wouldent have stood a chance against hendry.i think only Ronnie on good form could have beaten hendry.davis just dident have the same potting power to live with these two on form.

It's only a guess what we think would have happened had they met in a world championship final. If only each of their peaks overlapped Reardon and Davis, Daviz and Hendry, and Hendry and O'Sullivan would have met in world chanpionship finals. A shame these meetings never actually happened. You'd have to have had a computer peak Davis artificial intelligence shown on a big screen vs human peak Hendry world championship final. There would have to hsve been a lot of referee keeping moving the balls about after the computer prak Davis played a shot on the big screen to match where the balls ended up on the big screen. That the only way we could have found out who would have won in a workd championship final peak vs peak.
Its amazing how badly Reardon played here. So many easy shots and chances missed. Moving his head an awful lot on his shot. On this sort of form he would have been thrashed by Davis. He had felt great going in to the 81 championship...dont know what happened in this match.
Reardon always moved his head on the shot - it just didn't look as bad as this in his prime years, because the balls, more often than not, went in back then. He was in decline by the time the 80s arrived. Not as consistent as he was during the 70s. By the time the 80s arrived, I think all the professionals knew he wasn't the same player.
Reardon v Davis in the World Final would have been one for the ages. They both rated each other very highly.
