I'm no pro like CSW, I can however say that in my experience a good rule of thumb is to expect to use 1 standard sized can of brake clean per wheel, worst case scenario you end up with a can of brake clean on your shelf for future use.
You know what's fun- filling your waste bin with volatile vapours, placing it next to the workbench, forgetting and using a grinder later on. The whoomp sound and shower of dust is invigorating!
... the good brake cleaner doesn't use anything flammable. I have seen certain off-brands that use butane (and similar) as the propellant. Watched a guy clean out a distributor cap with brake cleaner one day and it wasn't totally dry when he tried to fire the engine. The thing went off like a grenade. The flip side is I have seen guys toss a fuel filter in the trash... then forget about it. That makes a pretty good boom!

I retired from aviation maintenance a few years back. We had a zamboni to clean our hangar floors. Part of our FOD control program. Also we would wash the aircraft in the hangars and squeege the floors afterwards.
I use different "artist" paint brushes from a set I get at Ocean State Job Lot . to apply grease,, anti seeze or locktite as well as when I touch up paint on my MCs or autos. The brushes that come in the can of products are just too big and have more than you need when you pull them out of the can, Neatness counts, and accuracy hits the mark. Tips and Tricks from a Norton Commando mechanic.
Your disc direction is not correct in the rear... The discs should be throwing away the heat not trying to bring in the air ? Sometimes both rear discs are the same direction vane on a Audi...But not on more expensive sports cars.
They are fine. On those rotors, the air is drawn in at the outside edge by rotation, then expelled through the outlets near the centre. Older rotors- yes, they fling air out with centrifugal force.
This seems to be a Lexus labelling thing, they are labelled opposite to the vane direction (front & rear), but is it a mistake or is it design? I used to follow the label, now I follow the vanes.
Who was the clown that told you cannot spray PB blaster on a boot I mean most everything is either Viton or Buna today.. and if you’re in doubt just wipe it down with some clean soapy water !
Love the videos! I’m assuming you were at Lexus at one point since you CPO’d that car. What are your thoughts on Lexus? As a brand and do they hold up to their hype of being the reliable luxury brand.
I will say this, I drove a Lexus SC400 for 2 years, then a SC300 for 8 years and this LS 460 for 4 years now. With proper maintenance and care any vehicle will last. With Lexus you do get the reliability with the luxury but if you need a big repair, you get the Lexus pricing not the Toyota.
Spend five minutes watching the tire guys at WalMart and you'll realize just how good a mechanic is CSW.
Beaurepairs in Australia.
Glad to see someone greasing the rub blocks on the parking brake a lot of techs don’t know about it or don’t care to grease it

@@freiherrdinkelacker5730 one can never have enough brake clean. It's the universal "need to get some shit off some shit" cleaner.
After cleaning the parking brake shoes, I lube the shoe contact points then spray the springs / hardware with Fluid Film, keeps everything like new.

I see you are a clean freak all around the brakes like myself when doing them. Good stuff

That shop is so clean. I am envious.
We keep it that way everyday.
That mop machine shows they take cleanliness seriously.

"Parking Brake" OMG!!!!!! What a legend!!!!!!!! Other muricans, please take note. Thank you.
I don't always breathe brake dust when doing a brake job, but when I do, I always clean out my nostrils with brake clean! Breathe easy my friends!🙃

Good Morning to you! Gotta get my fix of CSW before I start my day! 🇺🇸
How many times did he say " very good" must be at least once....😂
I don't wanna say it's a drinking game but you know.....
I count 34 times but it is not as annoying as "ACTUALLY" that some tubers use...
@@jimharper6073 dam that many, I need to relax a bit 😅 😂 🤣
@@customerstateswhat Too much caffeine or Columbian nose candy? 🤣
Exactly the same stupid hybrid system was on an 87 Volvo I had. Handbrake never worked properly unless brand new.
What did you do about the piston boot?
He just pretended he didn't see it! (Kudos to VGG)
I def did a Ray Charles to that boot. I'll do a caliper one day.
CWS you are indeed a class act. I believe we may have a new record. (35 VERY GOODS) Go ahead ask me how I know?

Air hammer for the pins…. Next time!
very nice and comprehensives explanation , thumbs up
How have these brakes performed compared to stock one pads and rotors?
Do they feel different?
Where can they be purchased?
Advanced auto was the store I got these from. So far so good. No pulsation and smooth braking.
@@customerstateswhat Thank you.

Excellent job Mr. CSW
Excellent video, thanks for sharing the tips
No problem 👍
I like all the holes my hardware enters to be clean...

Very good, lovely work my guy
Wish that tile floor and hydraulic in ground lift was in my garage.
Is that an Audi thing or your group of people or an ownership thing?
Audi, BMW, Land Rover.... Most high end dealers are going this way.
My 14 Mazda 3s rear pads are smaller than those😂
I would say you got your moneys worth out of those pads señor!
You keep telling the customer to get an alignment, but they keep saying no… at least this is constant business for you guys
Excellent
What brand of brake rotors and pads are those? I have the same vehicle at 105,000.
Not sure but I can say total $ in parts was under $250 for rear and under $300 for the fronts.
Must be a out of state car. No flavor and the backing plates are still there!
Probably owned by a guy who winters in Florida and leaves it in the garage while away. We get those in this area.
This is my personal car 😁
