TRIP REPORT | Royal Brunei 787 (ECONOMY) | London Heathrow - Dubai | Full Flight (1/3)

- Detailed Trip Report of my Royal Brunei Airlines flight from London Heathrow (LHR) to Dubai (DXB) aboard a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft in Economy Class. On my way from London to Melbourne, Australia I found a really great deal on Royal Brunei Airlines - a rather unknown airline in Europe. A few years ago they served other destinations like Amsterdam and Frankfurt - now they only fly to London. About the flight: The cabin was modern looking with comfortable seats, useful amenities, great leg room and a personal entertainment screen with a good selection of movies. Service wise this 6h40mins long flight included 1 warm meal and a snack accompanied by non alcoholic beverages only (national airline of the Muslim country Brunei). The cabin crew was friendly and very helpful at all times - great! And for all you window/wing view seat lovers - my seat was 46K.
After a brief stop in Dubai (DXB Airport) we boarded the same aircraft again to continue our journey towards Brunei (with a new crew). The next flight from Dubai to Brunei can be found here: • TRIP REPORT | Royal Br... .

Only one meal on flight less than 7 hours, it's the same with any other airline
Not at all. On every other flight of this lenght I at least got another warm snack or similar
@@PlaneSpottingBerlin oh yes, a meal and snack, but never two meals, at least from my experience with Garuda, ANA, Korean Airlines, and Etihad, but maybe other airlines do have two meals, and if that's the case it would be very generous
I think RB now fly direct to Brunei no more stop over in Dubai?
Don't know when exactly but yes - they should fly London - Brunei direct now/soon.

I have flown Royal Brunei a few times And for a small airline it wasn't too bad at all ,I got there safe and sound no dramas along the way . The cabin crew kept us hydrated with juice and water although the IFE is a little limited but I managed to find myself something to watch . I would say it was good value for money although Two stops to Melbourne and it takes a little longer than the traditional one stopper I do like the chance to get off the aircraft for a short while to stretch my legs .
no alcohol however no first class cabin
yes - it takes a little longer but you can stretch your legs in between which is alright ;)
So this is a bit late, I was supposed to stop in Dubai for a connection to Nairobi but. . my stay was happening just as jomo Kenyatta international had burnt down so I had to stay in Dubai for 2 nights but hey I got to stay in a 5 Star hotel 😁
Amazing Airline but the cabins look depressing the colors of the seats look like the 70’s however the livery is amazing
Why did you stop twice before Melbourne ? I only stop once
Because back then the flight was via Dubai... not a big problem for me

The legroom looks really generous!! Some airlines (Tui for example) label that amount under "premium comfort" and make you pay extra for it.

This is what it feels like
I flew with them to Brisbane Australia in 1998 they were brilliant and they use have a big screen at the front on the plane with a prayer on.

I feel very safe if I were to ride my country's airline(this) even though I never rode it before xD. As far as I see from TH-cam, there isn't an accident from this airline.

Have recently flown this route last week to come home from LHR to MEL, I quite enjoyed the trip. London T4/Dubai/Brunei airports are pretty easy to get around

Man(n) überlege sich mal diese Gesellschaft war in den 80igern bekannt für ihre First Class mit den goldenen Armaturen im Waschraum....Die Sitze und das Essen waren unbeschreiblich gut.Sie hatten den FRA-DXB Dienst damals.... Und heute.... nur noch ein Schatten ihrer selbst.
Das essen fand ich sehr mickrig...und richtig ein kleiner substantieller Snack wäre nicht schlecht gewesen.
ABER das schlimmste...für mich...kein champagner, kein Sekt keine Spirits geht gar nicht.
Bin gespannt auf deine Weiterflüge..Und denke dran, so eine Reise kann man(n) nur als junger Mann absolvieren. GENIESSE es!!!!

I have to fly from London to Melbourne in December. I saw very good fare for this airline. But there isn't a fly with only 1 stop in Brunei and continue to Melbourne?
There should be a new service direct from London to Brunei and then another flight to Melbourne. They have a very good service for the price they offer!

Yes only 1 meal and snacks. But when you continue to Brunei you will get the next meal anyways soon after departure.

Thank you so much for this video, I am flying from Melbourne to London return in December & wondered if economy was comfortable & you can sleep ok. Do you ask if there are spare seats & they'll move you so you have more room on board the plane? Very much appreciate your footage & now I'm feeling that little more excited than nervous about doing a long haul again after 31yrs. I'm not a fan of flying but obviously since I last flew overseas lots have changed which will make the flight not seem so long.
The flight was really enjoyable and i didn't feel that tired after arriving. My flights were not that full so i could sleep well across 3 seats. But that isn't a given thing always...

Thank you, I was hoping I could find a page where I can see which seats are taken but I think only the Flight Centre where I booked it have that info. Do you have a worst airline or is it the luck of your particular flight & crew on your flight.
Ask at the gate before boarding. Even during check in people change seats... and it is pure luck to have an empty flight. But happens pretty often to me.

Ansonsten macht Royal Brunei einen sehr ordentlichen Eindruck.
Der ehemalige Chef-Pilot der Condor war nach seinem Ruhestand auch mal dort.

Royal Brunei hat mir sehr gut gefallen - und um deine Frage zu beantworten: Ja, ich bin bis Melbourne mit R B geflogen. Auch auf dem Rückweg (selbe Strecke). Einen Teil habe ich in Business Class genossen ^^

they could at least served pre landing drinks
they did go around and offer drinks. I just didn't show it in the video because I went to the galley to talk to the crew and have drinks there.

Brilliant trip report! The cabin was very nice, and the legroom is amazing. It's also the first time I've seen the crew asked to be filmed :) They seems to be a great airline, I hope to fly with them in the future. How much did you pay for the whole trip?
