I have to wonder why it was rereleased on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S when the PS4 and Xbox One game is already playable on on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. I can understand releasing it on PC since _Collection_ wasn't released on PC but similar to GTA V, the PS5/Xbox Series ports feel pointless especially if you've already played them on PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch. It would have been better if the next gen version was offered as a free update similar to Resident Evil 7 and the remakes of RE2 and RE3. I'm not totally against rereleases of games on newer consoles. The PS4 and Xbox One ports of PS3/Xbox 360 games were necessary due to the hardware differences and some, though not all, games that were ported to PS4 and Xbox One had gameplay improvements such as GTA V and Skyrim Special Edition. _Special Edition_ adds two helpful features from Fallout 4 (the ability to quicksave in the pause menu and saves being sorted by characters), removed the random Vampire attacks from Dawnguard, and added the DLC from the original game. It even had modding support but unlike the OG on PC, using mods not from the Creation Club on Special Edition will disable Achievements/Trophies. MySims: Cozy Bundle for the Switch is another good example since MySims and MySims Kingdom were on the Wii although some may be disappointed the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation versions were left out.
Its pretty expensive and there is no upgrade path. If it goes on sale its obviously worth getting over the originals but this is kinda a weird release.
Its 2 games basically, 7 entirely seperet storylines, that they fully could have done singular games for and done a real cash grab. How many games do 8, 90 minuet-2 hour films into a wonderful game. Marvel has like over 3/4 games and paid DLC characters, Starwars has like 4/5 games. Indiana jones has multiple too. Batman has 3! and even though some are over or close to 10 years old, are still sitting at £15-£50, even City Undercover a non IP game from 2017 is sitting at like £25, it has okay open world for a couple hours maybe, but a shitty story, and replay ability is boring. This game seems like a small upgrade just to bring new life into the game, and when does that happen? unless its a still developer controlled game like minecraft or gta 5 somewhat, getting new updates and features, games are left to die and then unplugged. Im telling you, I had 100s of hours on these as a kid and am looking forward to starting again. So worth it
i don't know if i'd call it a "remaster" more of an ehancement, slight texture improvement and slight lighting and sound improvement. i think we do definitely need a full remaster, in the new engine. 40$ for slightly better lighting is definitely not that worth it. if they'd do a full graphics remaster id pay 40$, even 60$. i am however surprised they did actually improve the lighting. i'm curious how they did that.
I don't have the PS5 version, so I can't comment on haptics for 1-4. But the Xbox version definitely has some additional vibrations on 5-7, that I noticed at least.
Lighting looks better in 1-4, but the cooler shades make it less cosy looking and worse IMO. Just booted the originals on PC to compare with this video. Definitely not worth even the discounted price for current owners. They didn't even improve any of the textures aside from some of the glasses, what an absolute scam of a release.
This isn't worth anything. It would be neat if it were a free compatibility update or a community mod but the changes are so minute that doesn't improve one's experience at all. Even if someone doesn't own the old version, i wouldn't say the Remaster is worth it. Everyone who wants to play the games is better off saving their money by getting used or leftover discs of the original releases
the skywalker saga is 10000 times worse than this , You just run around on empty maps fro 5 hours in lego , 2 min dora the exploire quest , and than again 5 hours of slow runnning.
5-7 didn't change too much, but the 1-4 remaster shockingly looks totally different and way improved compared to the original. Still not getting it, already played the hell out of these games back in 2022 and I wanna play something else for once in my life.
I wish they would remaster the Original Lego Star Wars, Lego Indian Jones, Lego Lord of The Rings, Lego Pirates of the Caribbean cus I've never played them I know some of them you can stream on PS5 but I want to own them when it comes to Lego games I like to have physical copies to add to my collection Or make new games set in these universes like Lord of the Rings, Indian Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean cus they have made more movies since and give them all voice acting They just keep remastering Harry Potter and making new Star Wars games and occasionally doing new IP I just need them to make Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Indian Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean with all the movies in the games and voice acting
And make full on games based on IP they used in Lego Dimensions Lego Doctor Who Lego Back to the Future Lego Gremlins Lego Goonies Lego E.T. Lego Ghostbusters Lego Bettle Juice Lego Knight Rider Lego A-Team Lego Mission Impossible Lego Sonic Lego Sampsons Lego Scooby-Doo! Lego Flintstones Lego Jetsons
I'm sorry, it's a cash grab. Nice graphics but not worth the purchase, I expect a big remake that comes with voicelines and audio from the films. Not just another Mumble Mode.
@@arrowghost Honestly I’d hate it if a remaster would introduce voice lines. The cutscenes were made with “mumble mode” in mind, and would be made worse if voice lines were added. If they make a brand new lego HP game, sure, but not in a remaster. Would like to see bigger improvements too ofc. Though for those who either haven’t played the game at all yet or only the originals a while ago this is simply a nice offering, and it’s not like anyone needs to buy it, so cash grab maybe technically but not effectively imho.
Bruh just put the fries in the bag.... They are not going to integrate every console games store for a disk discount BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE THE POWER FOR THOSE DECISIONS I never seen a platform wide spread do this for disks Your fucking delusional
I mean...why not re-doing old and loved Lego games? Lego can really make money out of re-doing and upgrading games like Lego Indiana Jones or pirates of the Caribbean. And maybe, just maybe, re-release Lego lord of the rings.
Do not buy! 1. The collection is literally just a launcher and not a combined game like Star Wars the Complete Saga. 2. They added a 60 FPS limit, even though the old game didn't have one. 2. They somehow broke ultrawide scaling, even though the old game has a basically flawless ultrawide implementation. 3. This isn't the biggest issue but the saves don't transfer either even though the game seems to be basically the same.
Does the lighting look better? Sure it does but I also see a downgrade in the amount of detail. At the start from 1:53 I can already see a big difference. The remastered version has way less detail in all the stones on the ground, the older one even has some stones coming out of the ground while the newer one doesn't have those. Kinda feels like a GTA Definitive Edition remaster to me
Honestly I would have added more to them but it looks like they're just running on the same older versions of the engine. I would have added additional lighting effects while keeping the models the same. Some of the effects from the newest Lego Star Wars the Skywalker Saga would have been nice or even ray tracing considering how old these games are
I first had these games for the Nintendo WII and few years ago I bought the collection edition of the two games for my Xbox One S and I can definitely say that that I well spent 20/30 bucks. Now with this new remastered version for the current gen I'm not seeing such an improvement that will make me pay for the EXACT SAME games I already bought and really enjoyed with the last "remastered" on the collection edition. This purchase can only make sense if you never played them so that the cost is kinda justified for you to play them on next gen.
With 5-7, there are higher resolution textures and minor lighting improvements, but yes, very difficult to notice under normal gameplay circumstances. I'd probably recommend waiting for a sale for most folks.
How does the new version on Steam compare to the older versions on Steam? As someone that cares less about graphics, the only reason I'd want to buy the new one is for achievements, but the price doesn't justify that at all.
Have they at least fixed glitches and bugs with the game? I wanted to platinum years 5-7 but i cant because of a glitch with the students in peril, I’ve completed the game to 99.9% twice now i wont be doing it again haha but just wondered
I was about to say, have they gotten rid of the glitch in 1-4 where you can't enter the Gryffindor common room ever again if you try accessing it with the wrong character? Because that prevented me from getting 100% multiple times, which was... annoying, to say the least.
I know on the Xbox One version at least, Fiendfyre Frenzy has the confusion where players would get stuck at the end since the game doesn't have indication you can board the plane. The original game had this issue as well. I think on 1-4, there's also a glitch where the Library shows an indicator for a non-existent Brick or Crest if you have the Detector Extra turned on.
For me it looks like they just removed the color filter (or broke it) for the colors to look more natural / neutral now. The lighting actually looks little changed, just the color filter being removed. The biggest change i saw was in the title screen, the water reflection looks a lot better, but i am sure you could have done the same on the base version too. Overall basically no change.
I wish this had the modern versions and possibly new cutscenes and voicelines at the least to make this a bit more different. There's a small difference which I highly justify having this version over the original, especially for the 20$ difference
You don't know what that word means 🤣. You are getting what you paid for. So, it's not a scam. Also, the old versions (especially on pc) have game breaking bugs and constantly crash and freeze for people. And this is also running at a nice resolution increase, making it a bit more visually palletteable. 20 bucks if you have the originals, and you can even get the old ones for like 5 bucks together so you shouldn't have to spend more than 25 to get them. And that's not a bad price for what is here.
Saving my money until the next Lego game already own 1-8 collection seems like just a slight upgrade if you don't own it already grab it but if you own it save for the next Lego game
I’m actually convinced on how it looks *somewhat* better, I genuinely thought it would just be a straight up port

Its pretty expensive and there is no upgrade path. If it goes on sale its obviously worth getting over the originals but this is kinda a weird release.
There is an upgrade path.
It's not worth it at all, it doesn't even have any of the potion brewing minigames
They cut those out? Odd
I got the game and yes it has them lol
So worth it
It's the same game. It has them
They just made it shinier and darker
Yeah it's a little different
i don't know if i'd call it a "remaster" more of an ehancement, slight texture improvement and slight lighting and sound improvement. i think we do definitely need a full remaster, in the new engine. 40$ for slightly better lighting is definitely not that worth it. if they'd do a full graphics remaster id pay 40$, even 60$. i am however surprised they did actually improve the lighting. i'm curious how they did that.
A developer called Double Eleven was in charge of doing the "remastering" for this!
naah 40 dollar for an HD copy of an old game? whilst you can get the older version for less than 4 dollars right now.
Yeah I don't think it's worth it.
Just pirate it LOL
You mentioned haptics and I got excited. But not if it's only on years 5-7.
I don't have the PS5 version, so I can't comment on haptics for 1-4. But the Xbox version definitely has some additional vibrations on 5-7, that I noticed at least.
hmmmmm where are the differences, apart from the brightness ;)
It's more than brightness. It's the lighting/shadows/textures. All of it is minor though, I agree.
That's fair
This isn't worth anything. It would be neat if it were a free compatibility update or a community mod but the changes are so minute that doesn't improve one's experience at all.
Even if someone doesn't own the old version, i wouldn't say the Remaster is worth it. Everyone who wants to play the games is better off saving their money by getting used or leftover discs of the original releases
That's fair
Thanks Quick Brick! I’m glad they have a different achievement set to go for 🙂
Same!
I would love a remaster of another lego game, lego star wars the clone wars
Yes!
I feel like this remaster is more for people who didn’t already have the original remaster.
Yeah
Better lighting. And minor texture improvement. This is a classic example of wait for Game Pass. I'm surprised it's not a day 1 thing tbh.
That would have been cool
I understand that the unstable FPS problem has been fixed in part 5-7 years, no? It was quite unplayable in the pc/steam version.
I can't confirm myself, but I believe this is fixed.
Now we need LEGO Indiana Jones, Star Wars Complete Saga and Batman Remastered.
Its the same graphic but with a reshade xDD
Textures are higher res too.
Total waste of money. Ty for this video
You're welcome!
Bought a PC version and play with luminosity/contrast and saturation. With a good setting you can have very good results.
Awesome
Should've remade it like they did with skywalker saga, they could've added extra levels specifically from the book or something to pad it out
the skywalker saga is 10000 times worse than this , You just run around on empty maps fro 5 hours in lego , 2 min dora the exploire quest , and than again 5 hours of slow runnning.
@Gabriel-rb5nl I didn't say it wasn't I just wanted to see what they'd do with a remake of the harry potter games
I think that could be coming later
Did you play both games on the same console (Xbox Series X)?
Yes
5-7 didn't change too much, but the 1-4 remaster shockingly looks totally different and way improved compared to the original. Still not getting it, already played the hell out of these games back in 2022 and I wanna play something else for once in my life.
Makes sense!
I wish they would remaster the Original Lego Star Wars, Lego Indian Jones, Lego Lord of The Rings, Lego Pirates of the Caribbean cus I've never played them
I know some of them you can stream on PS5 but I want to own them when it comes to Lego games I like to have physical copies to add to my collection
Or make new games set in these universes like Lord of the Rings, Indian Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean cus they have made more movies since and give them all voice acting
They just keep remastering Harry Potter and making new Star Wars games and occasionally doing new IP I just need them to make Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Indian Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean with all the movies in the games and voice acting
@@Garrie2976 Lego Pirates would be a great game to have remastered for current gen. Played it back then. One of my favorites.
And make full on games based on IP they used in Lego Dimensions
Lego Doctor Who
Lego Back to the Future
Lego Gremlins
Lego Goonies
Lego E.T.
Lego Ghostbusters
Lego Bettle Juice
Lego Knight Rider
Lego A-Team
Lego Mission Impossible
Lego Sonic
Lego Sampsons
Lego Scooby-Doo!
Lego Flintstones
Lego Jetsons
Would love remasters of the other games!
Maybe in 2026?
Personally I think some textures on the older version have more detail
Where at?
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. The last gen versions actually look better.
Not even an upgrade path for owners of the disc version? Disgraceful cash grab by WB!
Bruh just put the fries in the bag....
They are not going to integrate every console games store for a disk discount BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE THE POWER FOR THOSE DECISIONS
I never seen a platform wide spread do this for disks
Your fucking delusional
@@misaafton and yet much smaller studios are able to do it for their games - Skydances Walking Dead Saints and Sinners has this very option.
Unfortunately not!
The lighting's SLIGHTLY better. There. Save you a few bucks.
lol
Can you get double the acheivements/trophies?
I mean...why not re-doing old and loved Lego games? Lego can really make money out of re-doing and upgrading games like Lego Indiana Jones or pirates of the Caribbean. And maybe, just maybe, re-release Lego lord of the rings.
Would love all of those to be remastered!
would have been nice to see PC max settings across both games but yee
I'm a console guy, but maybe someone else will do it one day!
@@QuickBrickGames i dont expect so because this game is not majorly popular so it would be nice if you re did this with the PC versions but yee
Personally, at least for me, it does look better... but not $19.99 better.😕
Why is this $40
20$ update for ps5 to get remastered of remastered? No thanks :)
lol
Would rather have waited 1-2 years for then to make an actual new game. Looks the same really disappointing
That may still be coming
Do not buy!
Do we get a free upgrade on consoles ?
Sadly not, not for PlayStation anyway
No. It's a $19.99 upgrade.
Does the lighting look better? Sure it does but I also see a downgrade in the amount of detail. At the start from 1:53 I can already see a big difference. The remastered version has way less detail in all the stones on the ground, the older one even has some stones coming out of the ground while the newer one doesn't have those. Kinda feels like a GTA Definitive Edition remaster to me
Nice find! I did not notice that when making this.
It literally just looks like different lighting and coloring. Seems LAZYYY!
I think this may be to hold us over until the brand new game in a year or two
At least the new version don’t have the bugs like the old version. Completed year 1-4 no problems with getting it 100. the 5-7 no problems yet
Great to hear!
In short no it's not worth it
lol
Honestly I would have added more to them but it looks like they're just running on the same older versions of the engine. I would have added additional lighting effects while keeping the models the same. Some of the effects from the newest Lego Star Wars the Skywalker Saga would have been nice or even ray tracing considering how old these games are
Those would have been great additions, I agree!
Agree 100%
maybe it was yellow, because analogue film is sometimes of that tint? if so it could've been more movie-like than now
After doing my own comparison, I came to the conclusion of... No, it's not worth it and it is a total scam, especially 5-7, they changed nothing.
Not worth the price =/= total scam
It’s more worth it on pc
With 5-7, there are higher resolution textures and minor lighting improvements, but yes, very difficult to notice under normal gameplay circumstances. I'd probably recommend waiting for a sale for most folks.
I checked it out and it’s amazing.
came here to say your voice reminds me of a less enthusiastic matpat! i don’t mean that in a mean way either, just like normal talking voice mat!
Haha thank you!
How does the new version on Steam compare to the older versions on Steam?
As someone that cares less about graphics, the only reason I'd want to buy the new one is for achievements, but the price doesn't justify that at all.
why do you care about the achievements if you are gonna 100% like every other lego game because they are easy.
I hear Double Eleven fixed some glitches that made the originals unbeatable.
There are achievements to get again.
People need to stop buying this shit
Nah let people buy what they want.
Have they at least fixed glitches and bugs with the game? I wanted to platinum years 5-7 but i cant because of a glitch with the students in peril, I’ve completed the game to 99.9% twice now i wont be doing it again haha but just wondered
Remains to be seen. I don't think anyone has played this new version enough to get to that point yet. haha
It look likes they just add tone mapping (maybe ACES) and SSAO.
I'm not that technical to know what those are. 😂
What was most annoying was that they charged you for the same thing, it could have been a free upgrade, here it is for $199 in Brazil 😕🇧🇷
Cap, that's not possible
$200??
@@QuickBrickGames yeah 🙇
@@QuickBrickGames yeah my friend 🙇
@@Felipe_silva_pereira Don't lie, I checked the prices and it cost $35 (R$ 199,99) in Brazil on Steam
4:53 that shadow from Harry's hair in the newest release...
So as 6:09
Interesting
Oh, I thought it was just a repackaged version of the originals when I saw it on Steam, I didn't know it was a remaster.
Yeah there's some minor graphical improvements
For me it looks like they just removed the color filter (or broke it) for the colors to look more natural / neutral now. The lighting actually looks little changed, just the color filter being removed. The biggest change i saw was in the title screen, the water reflection looks a lot better, but i am sure you could have done the same on the base version too. Overall basically no change.
There are some texture improvements too, but yes, extremely minor.
Lego + Harry Potter = Happiness
Yes
Never played this Lego series, so I’ll be picking it up!
Awesome!
I wish this had the modern versions and possibly new cutscenes and voicelines at the least to make this a bit more different. There's a small difference which I highly justify having this version over the original, especially for the 20$ difference
I think a brand new game may be coming down the line.
@@QuickBrickGames hopefully, but I have my hopes it's a new lego batman, since lego has been doing batman a lot more often now
Another remaster? I just want a Skywalker Saga type of game...
Could be coming later!
I've never played lego harry potter in my entire life. Is it worth to buy? Or should I buy the og one
I'd say it's worth it if you're brand new!
just make a new lego hp game at this point, we can have fantastic beasts in it as well
That could be coming later
They put a cinematic filter on the game and that's it... this is scam
@@hav0cfanat1cyou must waste a lot of money 😂
Does years 5-7 run better? The steam and switch versions are stuttering messes.
@@Trunks252JM after years of searching I found out the stuttering issues on pc are fixed if you install the game on a ssd. The only way to fix it
@@slicedtonix3989 I will have to try that
Yes, I think so.
omg its basically the same😭
Fr and the price is ridiculous
Not quite...
It doesn’t feel like a “remake” at all or even a remaster at all.
It looks like they just +2 on the lighting slide and some upscaled textures .
I'd say it's a minor remaster.
Any sound upgrades or is it just more of visual changes?
I haven't noticed any.
Saving my money until the next Lego game already own 1-8 collection seems like just a slight upgrade if you don't own it already grab it but if you own it save for the next Lego game
👍
Looks like they are just trying to cash in on the Hogwarts Legacy / Harry Potter hype.
Maybe
100%
