Years 1-4 is one of my favorite LEGO games of all time. Hogwarts castle is so alive, and I still to this day feel the same magic exploring it that I did when I was young. There’s something about it that’s so comfortable. There’s so much charm in every little secret.
Even if they were trying to make it less severe, I forgot how lethal and sad this game actually made some deaths. Lego Games now don't even show "deaths". It either happens off screen or they get knocked out.
Saw this video and immediately went to buy Lego Harry Potter on PS4 (perfect timing too cause it's on sale for $4!!) and this game will absolutely tide me over until Hogwarts Legacy comes out
What an amazing game. I remember when I was younger I beat the 2nd lego harry potter game in 2 days. I love the new channel look as well! It really brings a really cool looking aesthetic to the channel!
I got this game on sale on the Nintendo switch store in 2020 when I was doing school from home due to covid and having this game made me feel a lot better and gave me something to do after I finished my school assignments and I still play it because Lego Harry Potter will always have a special place in my heart ❤

Played this on pc like 6 years ago and decided to redownload it on pc and it didnt look as good as i remember lmao but the remastered collection on ps5 was only $4 so i picked it up and getting back into it. SO fun! The spells are perfect for unlocking different puzzles. Its the best lego games imo. Definitely nice to hold me over until hogwarts legacy!

I really hope TT Games remasters more older lego games, I didn't get into lego games until the PS4 so I missed out on an entire generation of lego games which aren't cheap today. Lego Batman, Indiana Jones and The Lord of the Rings are my most wanted remasters.
The water spell combined with the flames would freeze our Wii every time we played. Made it quick and dirty levels to play, but the frustration it caused me and my brothers was immense.
as a potterhead, this game is actually amazing for me. I love it so much and I love that its not just like a few levels but its like different years. Im on the 4th year rn. I really really hope this game gets a remake like The Skywalker saga where the characters speak, the graphics are better and just a better game. Althought I really love this. I also really hope they have less humor if they ever make a remake. Cus litterally my fav character in hp is Cedric and I did not expect them to do the character deaths like that. I wish they just didnt make EVERYTHING humor. Dumbledore's death, Cedric's death, Snape's death, I just really want them to make it more serious on the deaths atleast. I dont even know if this exist in the game but I want there to be a thing where if you are like a dark wizard, you can use Avada Kedavra. Again, I dont know if this exist there but I hope it does

I started playing the LEGO Harry Potter games fairly recent and i find them rather mixed. The gameplay is fine and all but i didn't like how the actual story of Harry Potter was just thrown around and scattered everywhere with some plot details being left out. The games are also reported to have some glitches that can lock you out of 100% completion
Haven’t played any Lego game in yearsssss, but just got it for free and have played it the past 2 days after work😂 I remember the no talking aspect really annoyed me when I first played it as a teen, now it adds a whole new level of comedic value😂😂

A friend and I used to play Lego Star Wars for ps2 back in middle school. Not knowing Tt was called Travellers Tales we had a running joke that Tt games was "tough titty games"

Yo i know this is a 4month old topic but regarding open world horror games not much out there i think you should look in to red dead redemption 2 have you played it? a sand box game but it was damn convincing as a horror game.

These 2 games are absolutely goated and golden, my only issue and I mean my ONLY issue with these games, is in years 5 - 7 u can't explore the common rooms anymore and it's pretty heartbreaking....but besides that one thing it's perfect.
My favorite was probably lego Star Wars. I love Harry Potter lore a lot more, but the original Star Wars was just god tier. Indiana Jones probably gives me the most nostalgia just because I haven't played that since I was really young.

These two games reflect a point where the Lego games are simple enough for a casual fan of the property to play even if they aren’t used to gaming, yet there’s enough side content for people who want to pursue it without spending an ungodly amount of time to 100% it. The later games that truly went open world, so about Lego Batman 2 or Marvel Superheroes are where the games really became collectathons.
@@MichaelFromTheAttic When the open world had timed races as part of the 100% ticklist is when it got to the point I’d skip over challenges. I remember getting 100% in the first Lego Indy and second Harry Potter games.

I think the first one was significantly better. Sure, worse graphics and the hub World is a little smaller but it has better levels, characters, character creator and it even had a level creator which was one of my favorite features and the only other game that had that was lego indy 2. But I also may be a little biased towards the first 4 movies.

I have more of nostalgia for the poor version of 5-7 for PSP/PSV/N3DS/NDS. I turned buying LHP years 5-7 for my every new console into tradition. I played so many hours on PSP emulator and my green ndsixl. Tomorrow im gonna get ps4 remaster, im so hyped up!
@@MichaelFromTheAttic I played the 1-4 game years ago but my copy gliched and never could get 100%. Now on Ps5 I can do so. Cheat my way through that game, but play 5-7 legitimately since I never played it at all after all these years.
The first game is one of my most favorite lego games but I bought it on Steam where it crashes after pretty much any big movement. I could honestly play it over and over if it weren't for that. The second one is really good too because of all the new places to explore and the graphics but its nothing compared to the first one for me.

One thing I think was a huge improvement in 5 - 7 over one to four is buying characters you've found. My gawd... wasn't it frustrating in the first game to have to flip flip flip flip flip flip flip through till you find a character you haven't bought yet? My thumb got so tired lol
Pre video take of my original opinions after actually having replayed 1-4 it about 2-3 weeks ago, and going to replay 5-7 later next month probably. I love Lego games, it definitely holds up BUT, I’ve been trying to 100% it and there are a lot of little irritations. I hate the character swapping mechanic, lore wise it makes sense but it’s so irritating. I just ended up having going with Tom riddle + hermione + griphook for 99% of the completion. If you don’t want to constantly go back and forth, you kind of have to unlock Tom riddle (think from the basilisk level) cause only tom and harry have parsel tongue, (apart from Voldemort but he doesn’t count as it’s the 100% reward.) If you want to use harry? Well then you’re gonna have to swap constantly cause you can’t have both a, book, a digger, a dark wizard, and a goblin in 2 characters. It becomes very annoying having to go back a few screens back, watch a long animation to swap characters. It’s probably a goblin so you open the safe, then uh oh! There’s also a dark magic spot so you have to go ALL the way back just to swap back Other than that constantly irritating me though I love these games. Easily a top 5 Lego game (putting it as HP1-7, not 2 separate games)
I remember having the first game on 3ds, with a 100% save and all, then my cousin wiped it and that made me a bit sad. Still a good game though I'll revisit it someday

Traveller's Tales knew how to make quality licensed games. Before Lego you had the Toy Story games, A Bug's Life, and Muppet Racemania.

I bought the collection on my vacation to Texel and I played the first level and just dropped it. I picked it up a few days ago and I'm loving the game rn!
PSN has both of these games for $4 right now cant wait to play them. Only played Lego Star Wars when I was a kid

So it’s Christmas and I’m patiently waiting for my family to wake up. I decide to check on my switch to see if there’s any cheap games I can get. Behold, I see the Lego Harry Potter Collection including 1-4 and 5-7. It’s $10. I look online to see the gameplay, wondering if the 80% off sale is a good enough reason to buy the game. I stumble along this video. It’s a good day.

I have more of nostalgia for the poor version of 5-7 for PSP/PSV/N3DS/NDS. I turned buying LHP years 5-7 for my every new console into tradition. I played so many hours on PSP emulator and my green ndsixl. Tomorrow im gonna get ps4 remaster, im so hyped up!

@@MichaelFromTheAttic I played the 1-4 game years ago but my copy gliched and never could get 100%. Now on Ps5 I can do so. Cheat my way through that game, but play 5-7 legitimately since I never played it at all after all these years.

The Lego HP games are brilliant. They capture and follow the plot much better than any other HP game.

The first game is one of my most favorite lego games but I bought it on Steam where it crashes after pretty much any big movement. I could honestly play it over and over if it weren't for that. The second one is really good too because of all the new places to explore and the graphics but its nothing compared to the first one for me.

One thing I think was a huge improvement in 5 - 7 over one to four is buying characters you've found. My gawd... wasn't it frustrating in the first game to have to flip flip flip flip flip flip flip through till you find a character you haven't bought yet? My thumb got so tired lol

Pre video take of my original opinions after actually having replayed 1-4 it about 2-3 weeks ago, and going to replay 5-7 later next month probably. I love Lego games, it definitely holds up BUT, I’ve been trying to 100% it and there are a lot of little irritations. I hate the character swapping mechanic, lore wise it makes sense but it’s so irritating. I just ended up having going with Tom riddle + hermione + griphook for 99% of the completion. If you don’t want to constantly go back and forth, you kind of have to unlock Tom riddle (think from the basilisk level) cause only tom and harry have parsel tongue, (apart from Voldemort but he doesn’t count as it’s the 100% reward.) If you want to use harry? Well then you’re gonna have to swap constantly cause you can’t have both a, book, a digger, a dark wizard, and a goblin in 2 characters. It becomes very annoying having to go back a few screens back, watch a long animation to swap characters. It’s probably a goblin so you open the safe, then uh oh! There’s also a dark magic spot so you have to go ALL the way back just to swap back
Other than that constantly irritating me though I love these games. Easily a top 5 Lego game (putting it as HP1-7, not 2 separate games)

I remember having the first game on 3ds, with a 100% save and all, then my cousin wiped it and that made me a bit sad. Still a good game though I'll revisit it someday
