If you watch videos from Little Chinese Everywhere or Katherine's journey to the East you'll find out more about these in rural China. I saw people recommended Zhangjiajie, I also want to recommend Yunnan Province (lots of ethnic minority culture and lovely food and weather), Yangshuo in Guangxi Province (karst landscape), Dunhuang in Gansu Province (for more Silk Road stuff and dessert), Hangzhou or Nanjing or Wuzhen or Suzhou (for lovely ancient Chinese gardens and water towns), Xinjiang (completely different culture and food), Harbin (ice festival, skiing and bath house experience), Hainan (beach if you fancy a beach holiday). There are lots of choices, have fun!

Hi Welcome to my home city, Alan & Shannon~
I saw your post about spending time around the bay area but didn't expect that you actually came here.
I was surprised that the ChapGPT led you to the Dameisha beach though. I haven't been there for a decade, because it is well known for being packed with people in holidays, as you could guess, but when I was a kid, my parents brought me there by driving regularly. I remembered having beeing burned by sun for the first time in my life. Also for me as a kid growing up here, I was honestly surprised that it be a thing for by you guys. I guess I am mostly tired of the long sunny summer here, and never really a beach-lover. It is nice to hear that you love that, cause I feel like I never really appreciated it that much. (I was actually quite fond of the fogginess during my stay in Denmark for a few years. Never been to britain but I heard it was more or less the same.)
The last stop Lianhua Shan Park is actually near where I grew up. My primary school is nearby and our teacher led our full class of pupils several times every year there to have some outdoor activities. From the top you could walk down to the citizen centre, where a cluster of really good public buildings stand for a lof of activities. I liked to skate there. On the top viewing platform of the park you may have seen the stature of an important leader, of whom the story should really be known.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your trip there. If possibly you come next time, you are welcome to contact me. I'd gladly show you guys a bit more of my city: food, culture, city history and whatsoever.
From a SZer who really likes Scotland.

This is the power of misinformation by western media. China not only has a very diversification of culture and food. But it also has a very diversification of geographical terrain. You can go from water skiing to snow skiing on one day train trip. I have lived in many so called modern cities and countries. But most countries or cities are only safe and clean within some nicer neighborhoods. Even that is no longer true. Even if you live in Beverly Hills, you are not totally immune from crimes nowadays.
China is probably the only country I have seen it is safe and clean in both the high rent district and the so called poorer neighborhoods and in big cities and small cities. You still have to work hard but you don't have to worry as much about nuisance of getting around, food, health care, crimes and housing as much. Seems like you can find cheap food and transportation and housing if you are not picky. And don't have to worry about being harassed, robbed and killed by criminals and homeless.

That is a really creative way to explore, by AI. I have never thought about that. I think you should map it out and plan your route accordingly (i.e. design your own path in order to save a little time).
Please do more on AI controlled trips, I am actually getting a little addicted to the surprise/unknown element of this type of travel. Because it can be a bit boring to visit repetitive skyscraper building and shopping malls all the times.
Tbh, I will use this strategy to implement my own travel in the future, maybe a little mixture of planned and AI suggested destinations for better experiences. And I will definitely map it out and design my own routes, because I don't want to go to a place where it's 12 in the morning already.

Always sceptical of how much culture there is in Shenzhen, given the city's very short history, but your art shopping experience proves me wrong and I'm impressed. Dameisha must be a very long metro journey, but if it was a nice surprise and you enjoyed it, it must be worth it. I only went to Shenzhen for one day to visit a relative before, but enjoyed the same night view in Lianhuashan Park. I should go again to properly explore.
