    I can never have too much Barra content, they seem like such a stout and versatile engine.
    Just a bit sad they aren't as readily available elsewhere in the world!

    What I have learnt from one of the sales guy’s in the service and parts at a ford dealership was which cam’s to get.
    He said ask for bf mk2 cams and hopefully they say they will be able to get them because these were the best cam’s that ford had between all the three different types of cam’s they had.
    BA-BF mk1 they figured out with how they got pitted and then they found the best manufacturer of cam’s or billet rods that didn’t pit half as much and then for some reason they changed with the fg-fgx cam’s the steel wasn’t as high quality and this is why they seem to pit easily.

    Hi Benny,
    Great video's here ... super helpful & detailed!
    A question on preparing the block deck in the car, so not removing the sump but replacing the cylinder head gasket. I'm ready to clean the deck for the cylinder head and want to clean it as per your video. My concern is getting particles into the block & oil passages & stuffing the engine. do I just pack the passages on the block with something & them pull that out once I'm done?
    Any advice would be appreciated.

  • @Dave-id6sj
    @Dave-id6sj 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just about ready to start putting my FG G6 engine back together and am wary of the rubber gaskets supplied for the rebuild. They seem like they are difficult to handle and just don't seem to be the correct specs (just eyeballing them), I'm used to easier gasket replacements like those on my 5.0L Windsor. The sump gasket in particular bothers me, it just doesn't sit right and I admit to being reluctant to use it as it is. Hoping these videos will help out before I try it and lose my shit doing something wrong.

      RR 10 yes, however this means the car won’t be off the road. We’ve also added head studs, oil pump gear + billet backing plate , valve springs, 3582, bigger fuel pump, injectors and intercooler hard piping kit.
