Like your work, like your music... wish we were neighbors ha ha 82 winters past me now... we could have long talks... thanks for making the videos, I know there is a lot of extra work in it and the editing … started buying records in late 40's and still do at thrift stores… good music... that is most everything.. Thanks, hope you keep them coming !
WOW !!! I know no one will believe me but I'm the guy who coined the phrase "What if the Hokey-Pokey really IS what it's all about?" I posted it in a chat room using a WebTV back in the late 1990s. This is the forth time it's come back to me !!! HaHa !!! I love Sow the Land !!!
I've been looking at ideas to build myself some new storage for my vinyl collection, and I have to say - this is probably my favorite thus far. My collection is teetering on getting out of hand, and I am in need of more space. Ply is an affordable solution and can be done up just about any way you want it. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
Lovely job, super classic design. Two shelves high is definitely the way to go. I built something very much like this awhile back, but three LPs' high, and it's just a little too tall.
“What Good Shall I Do Today” 🙏🏼 I feel like if we all asked ourselves this question, keeping in mind being able to benefit others, much good could result. Also it’s a great design, makes me want to buy a track saw.
Hi Jason I live in Atascadero CA and once I retire from Atascadero State Hospital we plan on moving out of California and start Homesteading.. we currently have a very small garden does that count😂 Your home made shelf to hold your vinyl turned out great, I love the idea of working with wood and using cool tools but I have zero understanding or any mechanically inclined bones in my body😂😂 I do however love vinyl well I love music would be more accurate. I have a small TH-cam channel called A-Z Music Haven where I show my vinyl collection and CD’s or cassettes.. But I love vinyl the most.. Take care and thank you for doing your channel it has become my favorite channel since I first subbed your channel.. God bless to you and your family.. Craig
Excellent job! Working on record and storage shelving, trying 1x3 strapping for the most part. Good to see simplified ways to get things done and still have a homey look to them.
Some great tips in this video! Awesome video!! I never knew how they did this, looks easy now. I like adding the wood under the one you are cutting to catch the cut wood. The T-Square one was good too and the dowel in the drill was cool too! 4:13
Looks great and this is pretty much exactly the kind of record shelf that I'm planning to build sooner than later. I strongly recommend you get a solid record player with a good stylus. It makes a huge difference in the quality of your listening experience, trust me. I speak from many years of experience. Just trying to help out. Great job!
Simple and strong. Makes you think why isn't this solution more widely available cheaply as a flatpack kit - then again, as you showed, nearly anyone can make one. Btw what on earth are omnidirectional speakers doing inside a cubicle at the bottom of this unit? Omnis need a loot of free space around them to work properly and clearly these also need to be placed on a stand (due to their short height). But other than that you deserve praise for keeping your record collection and making a dedicated storage case. Well, I guess we all need to make sacrifices... ;P
That's wonderful! I wanted to make a cubby for my cigar boxes I collect, to set in the hallway, similar to yours. I lucked out and found an old jelly cupboard that was perfect. Of course if you were closer I'd have commissioned you lol. Blessings ~
I do not recommend placing components directly on top of the cooling vents on amplifiers/receivers. Side by side placement might be better here. Great wood working though.
Love this! Literally exactly what I've been thinking of making, as we're moving into a rental and don't have anywhere to put our records. How thick is the plywood please?
Great and simple build! Im looking to do a similar build and was wondering if the 3/4" plywood hold well and if it were a specific wood that you were using.
I made my own vinyl wood dividers just like yours. I build them separate instead of altogether and stack two only and these are 8 feet long. I notice yours are touching the floor. Mine are both on milk carton cubes (3). One foot above the wooden floor. So my height is 41 inches in height altogether. I never stack vinyl to high and alot of these collectors stack them to the ceiling. That's a big mistake especially living in California like I do. Bad for your health. PS: milk carton cubes can handle the weight easy. Thanks for reading my comment (from 976-CREOLEMAN).
Not sure.... but are your stereo speakers made by Zenith? If they are they may have been manufactured in the late 60s to early 70s. The dad of a friend of mine had the whole system with the turntable... I remember, I thought it sounded amazing.

I believe you james! thanks for sharing that!!

That came out beautiful great job son that would look great in my sewing room for fabric to hint hint🥰
LOVE the sanding tip with the dowel in the drill!! Game changer lol 5:34
Very, very nice. It actually holds more while leaving the upper wall space completely open. It makes that side of the room more open.
I like this. I have 600+ records stuffed in boxes. Time to pull them out.
today I learn... "plunge routher" and "dado joint". such a cool project to share, learned a lot! thanks!
thanks for watching Natalie!
You two have great style plus excellent taste in music, and mad skills with wood creations. Thanks for all your videos. Cheers, Ardith
thanks!

Appreciate your insight; I was thinking of going 3 high, but this and your comment have led me to reconsider

Nice job big collection of albums so many of us got rid of our records and now they are coming back. Thanks for sharing.
thank you!

Nice work. I remember when I was kid that my cousin had those same round Zenneth speakers. He had the Zennith stero also.
Great work! So glad that your minimal mindset still allows your vinyl because your music collection always makes me wanna watch another video!!
we play records instead of having a tv! :) thanks!
Very nicely done.
this is exactly what i am looking for exact dimensions. very nice
I love how the unit looks with the wood burning stove and rug!
Excellent job! Working on record and storage shelving, trying 1x3 strapping for the most part. Good to see simplified ways to get things done and still have a homey look to them.
Jason beautiful job!! I enjoy very much the music you play in your videos...

Beautiful shelf.
Our daughter just got a vinyl player and she was looking for a way to hold her records will share this with her thanks.
I like your style. God provides
Love your winter projects and your tunes

I think that's a great goal to have, being able to say you built everything yourself in your home.
Nicely done chap ...
Thank you kindly
Thank you for sharing! I’m definitely inspired and I will build this for my records!
that is so Beautiful congrats
I wish I could cut perfect like that lol The shelves look amazing great job
Nice! Good vibes from this video!
Looks fantastic!
I wish tools were cheap 😢
Good job dude!

I’m glad for you but this is far from easy!
Most people do not own routers!
I was looking something to build using a circular saw!
Thanks!
Barry
What are those brown cylinder things? Are they speakers? they look wild
yes, speakers! so cool!
Great Project! Question: What size are the individual shelf pieces? Not the top, middle or bottom long pieces. -Thanks again!
Great video, but the stud finder you used is not the one on your list. I really liked the one in the video. What brand was it? 4:41
what stud finder?
Beautiful
That was a good job on the shelf you dun there 👍👍
Awesome how many sheets of plywood was that? Nice
This is going on my honey do list !
good build
Simple and beautiful. ❤️
great job!
@2:16 what power tool did you use to do those notches on the wood
Love it
I love it! I got rid of my albums and now I’m so disappointed! 😢
Pretty, looks good😁
Love this! Literally exactly what I've been thinking of making, as we're moving into a rental and don't have anywhere to put our records. How thick is the plywood please?
3/4”
Obsessed with this! I want one!!! 4:33
Very nice 💪👷
U got skills 😃
Great and simple build! Im looking to do a similar build and was wondering if the 3/4" plywood hold well and if it were a specific wood that you were using.
3/4" is holding up great! I used pine. of course oak or maple would be even stronger. but more money. thanks
Very nice. Do you have plans for the 8-Track version! Lol! ;-)
Great work. Can you make a video about your table saw? I’m in the market for one and would love to hear your thoughts on it.

Could we get the diver dimensions.
Love it. Wanna build one myself. Did you glue 3/4" ply together to make it 1.5" thick or is it just 3/4"? The thickness is deceptive.

not sure, they don't have a name on them. thanks!
Hi Jason, Thats a lot of records. What kind of music do you like?

Awesome
I would like to buy the shelves you took out it is perfect for what i need. where did you get them and model please
ikea
Nice!! ;)
GOOD AFTERNOON TUDO DE BOM E BOM TRABALHO FAMÍLIA
Homestead is an overused term.
Depends who you ask. Still a ton of people never heard that term.
