She has talked about her role in the tv miniseries "Sybil", and how she felt she knew this woman, because she herself felt fractured into many different selves and roles, and she "became" Sybil while portraying her, and it gave her glimpses into what she would later discover about her past that she had buried. What a beautiful and eloquent moment. This is the only show of its kind where a guest can open up like this and not be interrupted by the host cracking a smart-a$$ joke. And Graham lets moments like this happen. He knows intuitively when to not speak and to let the guest turn away from him and speak intimately to the other guests. No other host I've seen has that skill today.
I love Sally Field. She's a beautiful creative woman. I love how the interaction fo guests on this show create conversations. In this case Chris touched her arm and initiated the conversation and Graham gently steers the conversations.
Sally has a.compelling story to tell and Graham, Chris, and Rami seemed genuinely interested and made supportive comments to her. It was a delight to watch and hear.
Horse Friend not my type..but he became much more attractive when he lifted that arm, turned his body and look directly at her. Unless you are a literal goblin...most women place a lower value on looks than men. Women want to be loved. Part of that is being heard and not humored. Really listen and you are halfway there. Also be sure you aren’t doing the same..easy to listen to a women who is beautiful instead of average. Being honest about looks and focusing on personality doesn’t just benefit women.
I read her book. She is a survivor. After what she's been through, I feel that it took a lot of courage for her to write about it and talk about it. I think I understand how acting provided her with a much needed coping mechanism.
Sally has that “Mother of all mothers” energy. She represents the common woman. I can relate to her. Legend. So much respect. I think I like her more than Meryl Streep. Love them both but Sally Field’s image is more endearing & there’s something very inspiring about her career, I think. 👑👏🏻 Very brave for her to talk about such a sad & personal thing. I think it is what has driven some of her most profound performances on film. Legend. & I am loving Chris Pine’s respect here, he listens well. I love him. 🤍
Sally seems so vulnerable yet opens up so beautifully in talking about difficult issues in her past that many of us have had to confront, or have feared to confront. Chris Pine's face and demeanor reflect empathy and strength of character. In that two-shot it's amazing that they're doing this in front of an audience and cameras. To the viewer, no one both those two matters.
Wow can’t believe she’s 72 amazing . I think Graham’s a master at putting together great guests letting them speak giving a little drink and being in control of the narrative . Intelligent guy that isn’t afraid to hear other peoples voices 😻
The way she talks and got the attention of the gentleman around her aside from de public is pure and simple real life struggles and sometimes it takes a life to be able to express yourself in front of everyone. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

So good show, the quality of this silence, knowing when to be funny then serious, the fact that guests feel so intimate that they talk to each others without looking at Graham, moving and not artificial confidences ... thanks Graham

Wow! Sally Field is so eloquent. She is a compelling storyteller/speaker. Graham and Chris are clearly in "awe" of her. I want to read her book because what she said resonates with me.
She must feel so liberated after all that work. I'm so proud of her for digging in - and that she found that she could still bear a new life at 65! Adding even more reasons to love Sally Field! Even her brief telling of her healing and acting processes were so captivating. I think she gained a few fans on that there couch. 😘
As she was talking, I thought how fortunate she was to find the thing (acting) that helped her channel her voice and guide her through life in spite of the difficulties she faced. Really powerful that she is willing to share that with the world.
She's so amazing. I would be remiss if I didn't mention one of her lesser known movies; Not without My Daughter. She is riveting in this movie, it is almost as if it's a documentary, but in a fascinating way. She's a treat in any role of course. Pine and Malek are fine audience members, as if they're not great themselves. That was a nice touch.
That movie was good and she was wonderful in it. I had read the book first and she really did justice to the story. She made me cry my heart out in Steel Magnolias, the scene at the cemetery. So good.
I personally learned so much from that movie... Of course I did go on the rollercoaster of emotions, but I really learned to NEVER date/marry a Man from a foreign country!!!!! Did you ever see Sybil, that's another fabulous movie Sally starred in, based on a true story. Bring tissues though!!!
We watched that film in one of my high school classes. The story & film stuck with me since then. A very memorable film. It teaches so much. I also remember whe she was Gidget. She's so talented.
"i would be 65 for the rest of my life"......she said so truthfully what many people struggle with....being STUCK in a certain place, time, relationship, circumstance, etc. that we can never get pass. So that we never emotionally, or spiritually grow pass that point.
@Yevgeniy Maslov There is no need for the "U.S" in that sentence. "American" is the correct demonym. But if you want to keep it there, it would be "A U.S American" because the letter U is pronounced /ju:/
@Yevgeniy Maslov I'm not from the USA... 🤣 I am well aware that all those who live in the various countries across the Americas are Americans. But that doesn't change the fact that "U.S American" is not an official demonym at all, whereas "American" is.
Sally, thank you for sharing so openly and honestly. I know that age makes it easier to do that, but to share your struggle to find the deep mysteries for and in you, was, as Chris Pines says, priceless. I hope that you settled it to your deepest satisfaction and thanks to you all for this time.
It's so sad that she feels like she wasn't hearing herself when she was an inspiration to so many guys and girls over the years. Some people spend their whole lives trying to live up to their heros standards when really the best they will be is just an average person that others look up to. Don't torture yourself to be something great until you know who you are first. Be happy with being average if that is all you will ever be.
Just how beautiful is it to look at Chris Pine really engage in this interview when he asks her what compelled her to write her memoir? Chivalry ain't dead people. It lives within Chris Pine!
I could listen to her speak all day. She's so intelligent and well-spoken. Not that it comes as a shock by any means, but it's as if her words convey such a deep meaning through saying very little. She has everyone on stage and the audience completely engaged into her story. You can see the emotion on the other guests faces as she's telling these stories. You know you've had an impressive life when you can engage that many people at one time like she does.
I've always loved and admired this delightfully normal woman.
I’ve always loved Sally and I can sooo identify with what she’s saying here, especially at this point of my life, but my focus here is on Chris Pine. In an instant I can see such depth and empathy-genuine concern. He is DEFINITELY good people ❤️
I love how she has Chris Pine, Rami Malik & Graham Norton mesmerized when she's speaking! Obviously gentlemen who are very respectful of this great lady before them!💝
Gentlemen! Take notes. THIS is what “women really want.” Thanks for the lesson Professor Pine :)
And a few men too.,.mmmm... in my best Mae West...
@John Stevens Mmm.. you got a big fat wallet there, or are you just happy to see me?...Mmmm....
hahahaha
I love how intrigued Chris Pined looked while she talked. She has always been a favorite of mine. I don't really read biographies but I may have to pick hers up.
“You guys are just young!” - I so got that. They ALL come out of this well. Subbed.
FABULOUS ACTRESS
I love Sally !
I love how openly and honestly interested Chris Pine is.
OMG she just put words to my life too. That fog ...is how to survive . Dance, Singing, Acting became the light that allowed me to LIVE on stage too. Off stage the fog of sadness always came back. she just blew me away. Sweet Sally.
"Those fire-flies on the edges of my eyes." DAMN that is heavy!! I've always loved this lady. How many of us have felt that very thing throughout our lives?
Thank you also to Chris, for a genuine question.
Chris Pine was listening not just waiting for his turn to talk.
There are two kinds of people: those who listen to what you have to say and those who just wait for their turn to talk.
Yes to listen should be a natural trait.
@@mrchopsticks3 True.. and who do you reckon learn the most 😉
That’s so rare. ❤️✌🏻
@@Olm9 I saw a poster once in a dentist office of a little girl babbling on to a doctor and the caption read "You learn more by listening than you do by talking", which explains why social media is populated with some of the most ignorant people on Earth.
Her description of finding "her craft" resonates so much - when you find your purpose, you find your life blood.
"Fireflies on the edges of my eyes"
I'm not crying, you're crying
😭😭😭
I’m sure it’s a line from her book.
She does not look 73. So cute still, Gidge.
Isn’t she?! Time has stood still Gidget.
Maybe it's Sally's bangs that give her a young, girlish look.
She doesn’t look 63!
Omg. She was 47 when she did Mrs Doubtfire (where I first “met” her) in 1993. She looked a solid 10 years younger. ❤️
@@timd381 She's 72 here.
Wow Sallys honesty is so compelling and real. Beautiful.
There is nothing more attractive than a man that knows how to listen.
Trumps don't qualify.
AMEN
@@blomegoog Bidens worse.
Go on...
She’s so insightful and well spoken. She truly is a gifted actress and writer.
I read her book. She is a survivor. After what she's been through, I feel that it took a lot of courage for her to write about it and talk about it. I think I understand how acting provided her with a much needed coping mechanism.
What a sweet reaction from the guys ❤️ she is so special and decent.
She is remarkable!
Have always liked her.
Wonderful person.
She is AMAZING and She had them all mesmerized as well
Sally Field is probably the most relatable person ever. I truly admire her.
Sally has that “Mother of all mothers” energy. She represents the common woman. I can relate to her. Legend. So much respect. I think I like her more than Meryl Streep. Love them both but Sally Field’s image is more endearing & there’s something very inspiring about her career, I think. 👑👏🏻
Very brave for her to talk about such a sad & personal thing.
This is why they are all such good actors. Open and able to listen are great qualities to have for that kind of work
Wow can’t believe she’s 72 amazing . I think Graham’s a master at putting together great guests letting them speak giving a little drink and being in control of the narrative . Intelligent guy that isn’t afraid to hear other peoples voices 😻
Sally is a cool lady who always makes me smile; I appreciate the men for actually listening.
The way she talks and got the attention of the gentleman around her aside from de public is pure and simple real life struggles and sometimes it takes a life to be able to express yourself in front of everyone.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Incredible. She really has a way of speaking.
Sally exudes so much humility and class
She’s so poetic.
Chris and Rami’s faces are all of us in this moment. What an awe-inspiring gem of a woman she is.
Imagine Sally trying to tell that story on JIMMY FALLON
🤣🤣🤣
Jimmy would have a nervous breakdown. He's got the depth and breadth of a cat's dish. You can go deep with Grahm
Thank God for Great Britain
HAHAHAHA! That's crazy! HAHAHAHA.
He would have interrupted every minute
Sally fields, you are just the greatest, no matter what year it has been, or character you've played. Or what movie you've been in your character as always shined. That is why all of America loves you. Thank you for everything you've done
Graham’s the best!!! He saw greatness, and just let Sally go for it!!! Brilliant stuff.😉
She's so spritely, love her character.. beautiful. She's never changed in decades.
Loved her in “not without my daughter” she’s such a natural.
She is such an inspiration. One of my favourite actresses!
I'm 61 years old, and it is 2023. And this awesome woman has been my favorite actor of all time. No one can make me laugh or cry, or feel, quite like her.
She ‘is’ pretty wonderful ❤
So good show, the quality of this silence, knowing when to be funny then serious, the fact that guests feel so intimate that they talk to each others without looking at Graham, moving and not artificial confidences ... thanks Graham
What an amazing moment. Sally completely had them enthralled.
She's an amazing person.
All of them are.
Truly one of the BEST moments/discussions I have seen ON ANY TALK SHOW.
What an amazing human to be so honest and real.”where have you been” he said. Living life and learning to deal with it. What an amazing, brave, honest person u r Sally u rock xx❤👏💝💝😘🥲👏👏💝💕🫂😘
I love that, “who are you!!?!”
I loooved that so much as well!!!
She's priceless & Chris Pine really gets her.
Priceless or ageless?
Sally Field is delightful even when explaining her traumas. Love her spirit and soul.❤️
I love how Graham gives his guests time to talk
So honest and one of the talents that will go down in history. Love sally.
"i would be 65 for the rest of my life"......she said so truthfully what many people struggle with....being STUCK in a certain place, time, relationship, circumstance, etc. that we can never get pass. So that we never emotionally, or spiritually grow pass that point.
She's so lovely❤
What a beautiful soul she is.
Chris pine is enthralled. He is so gonna read that book.
She's so articulate! Not a single "like" or "you know."
3:48
Miriam Margoyles would be pleased
That's the benchmark of "articulate" these days?
@Yevgeniy Maslov There is no need for the "U.S" in that sentence. "American" is the correct demonym.
But if you want to keep it there, it would be "A U.S American" because the letter U is pronounced /ju:/
@Yevgeniy Maslov I'm not from the USA... 🤣
I am well aware that all those who live in the various countries across the Americas are Americans.
But that doesn't change the fact that "U.S American" is not an official demonym at all, whereas "American" is.
Love Sally Field! She’s such a legend!!
Sally you are AMAZING.
Sally, thank you for sharing so openly and honestly. I know that age makes it easier to do that, but to share your struggle to find the deep mysteries for and in you, was, as Chris Pines says, priceless. I hope that you settled it to your deepest satisfaction and thanks to you all for this time.
Sally will forever be such an innocent genuine beautiful soul!
God dang Chris Pine is a handsome man. And I’ve always loved Sally Field.
I could listen to her speak all day. She's so intelligent and well-spoken. Not that it comes as a shock by any means, but it's as if her words convey such a deep meaning through saying very little. I'd love to read her book and next chance I get, I just might. I've always thoroughly enjoyed her performances.
