Just use my 4.0 today easily went five hours with no noticeable battery death. I used both modes, one is in adaptive mode the other is a solid hit mode I actually prefer the responsive mode for realism tattooing. I really actually haven’t looked into what it does I still need to check that out but it works. I used everything from a single needle all the way up to a 23 magnum today. .. from the minimum speed up to 60 to 80% maximum really awesome Machine didn’t take any time for me to adapt. Super impressed. As far as a 4.0 stroke length being too long I think that is just a bunch of hooey.. it’s quite easy to just lower your voltage lower your needle depth possibly and/or just don’t stretch the skin as hard you can get softness from that alone.. simply by applying any of these three techniques… whether it’s perfectly what you’re used to is certainly not up to debate.. BUT with a little bit of mental flexibility it’s easy to Adapt. I would way rather have a machine that is more powerful than one that’s less powerful
@@Tksoslatt not better. BUT if you wanted the extra punch it won’t be. There with the 3.5. I would say most would be happy with the 3.5. But the 4 will also run slower at the same volts if you like a slower machine sometimes. All what you get used to.
Love this video Nick! Thank you so much for all your support to Kingpin we appreciate you so much 🙏 looking forward to seeing your thoughts on this machine down the road!
Ordered one yesterday.. cant wait for it to arrive... no more WIRES 😖❤... a more in depth review of techniques would be good mate.. thanks for the review 👍
@@nicksundstromtattoos998 I just got my Sol Nova Unlimited in the mail today (3/4/21) and am super excited. I found this review today also! Did you make those technique videos already? :)
Great video man. I just ordered mine!! I've been using the xion with the lightning bolt pack and all though I love the xion, the lightning bolt pack is just annoying. Doesn't last as long as they claim either.
Awesome you’re going to love it! The Xion is a nice matchine but I never got the chance to try it with the lightning bolt pack. Bummer it doesn’t last as long as advertised
Hi! Thanks for the video. I'm thinking to buy one but there is like a 3.5 and a 4.0. I do minimal lining, (3RL - 5RL) not that much shading. Could you give me some advice? Thanks!
I bought this.. tattooing for 15 years and have never struggled to put in solid lines in my career.. ive tried everything I can think.. It puts in some suuuuper smooth bg and absolutely is the best color and black packer.. but wtf am I doing wrong while lining... I'm using cheyenne safety cartridges...
I have sol nova around 7 months and no problems with thick lines voltage 10-10.5 good stretch to skin and all goes in. I received nova unlimited yesterday now it’s testing time but standard 7 round went well I dont feel differences between responsive mode and normal does it feels more with smooth shading?
I agree, unlimited push any type of liner or round shader with no problems it took me 4 days to understand the machine and now I can line even on 9 volts big grouping
Did it worked, did u resolved the problem? I m thinking on getting one, but this machine is kinda xpensive ,, i wouldnt like to have this kind of problems at the end.
Love the design, however, havent figure out how to use the machine yet 😂 i have to stretch out the skin to the max and then really really slow move the pen and if im lucky the Inc goes in. That process makes it very Hard to tattoo a larger piece because it get my hands all tired out. have been tattooing for 10 years, and uses the dragonflymachines otherwise. These machines puts in the inc 3 Times faster
mine died 20 days after the 12 month warranty. cheyenne does not make repairs on the sol nova unlimited! They only make exchanges. So my $1100 machine died 13 month’s an i had to pay $460 for a swap with a 1yr warranty.
I'm using a batery from ali expess fancy designed for chayane's for my terranova .. they are amazing but does bring some weigh and curve since the bateries are curved. but i got used to it they last over 7hrs non stop full chage normal power. And about 5hrs full power . I will upgrade soon i guess been less heavy and straight pen does seem tempting to upgrade but I'm wait for a improvement on the batery life for this one. It's soo much better to tattoo without wires. Lol
One question - does it stop when you're going to dip the tip into ink? because that's what makes me worried, I used to stop running machine each time I'm going to dip, because otherwise I end up splashing ink all around...
Switched to the Sol Nova Unlimited 5.0 a week ago, mainly do anime/full color work, and absolutely love the machine. It is a masterpiece

Me too, tried putting in lines with a black claw 11 straight today and even maxed out in steady mode I struggle
I can line all day with the unlimited in responsive mode pushing any size grouping. What other rotary machines are you able to line with?

Will the battery work on spirit an thunder? How long does it last...I couldn't find any for cheyenne
Ara Kouftaian there’s 2 batteries. Charge time 3hrs. Run time 5 hrs. What u need more battery for
How’s the vibration on the machine what’s it compared to
Nick what settings do u use on it bro? For lining and shading?
Can i to buy saparate batterys for this machine?
It takes any lithium battery. They are inexpensive.
does it do good crispy lines? like 7-9-11 Round shaders?
Sol Nova is powerful machine. Yes, you can use any needles.

Nice!
Would this machine be great for beginners?
I think so!
