- This video gets into how I use my Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card. It's not a bad card at all but not my favorite at the moment.

The Bilt card is great, but the reason I continue to love Chase is not because I'm getting insane value traveling the world. Rather, I get value because Southwest is always the most practical short-haul domestic option for the places my family and I travel very frequently. I use almost all the major issuers cards, but I value and stockpile Chase UR points mosts because it allows us to visit family frequently at minimal cost. Having said that, all our international trips have yielded far greater value using setups outside Chase.
I know its ure least favorite bank but u Gotta respect chase at least a little. One thing that chase has is consistency. Look at the venture x (every other month devalued) the platnuim (more coupons higher fees cut benifits) one thing that chase has is longevity and consistency. The bilt card is amazing but we are fooling ourselves if we think its gonna stay this way without high anuel fees or some serious devaluation. Chase has the best consistency out of everyone......
They are definitely steady eddy. To be honest, the automatic 50% boost on the Chase portal with the Reserve is very good. I'd just love to see them innovative a little bit.
All these CSR shills and fan boi comments aged like milk 😂. Chase is STILL chase. Not quite US Bank but most def NOT Amex. 🫠
"Mom! Richard put me in his video!!" 😅Good and accurate shout-out dude! 🙏🏾
Keep at it!!
I have the RC for lounge access (unlimited AU), so I cancelled my CSR last year. After cancelling the CSR, I got my 3rd CSP SUB. P2 and I are going to Barbados in March.
You're crushing it DC. Don't forget to rent a car 😊
INK cards, United Club card, and Ritz Carlton card. Thanks for the info + video!
That's a good setup btw!
I prefer the Citi Premier and the Citi Trifecta.
You already know how I feel about the Citi Premier. I hope you noticed me using the Citi Premier at the Sandy Lane Hotel in the video. It is my most used card when I travel abroad.
Oh I know! That's why I subscribed. @@RSquared-travel-rewards
Don't sleep on the Ink cards bro. Best SUBs in the game. I'd add Chase Offers to my mix. I'd rather collect rent then pay it - so Bilt is meh .
Definitely adding the Inks for the subs later this year. Folks either love or hate the BILT card. Let's just say that I enjoyed the 125% transfer bonus to Emirates back in the Fall. I expect to do another such epic transfer a couple times this year.
50% more for CSR is probably the biggest benefit. It changes the game when you can't get availability for small trips/hotels. You can even use the funds for revenue tickets to southwest at that rate. But you do need to be big spender in general to keep it
You're sleeping on Marriot. Its good to have options. I know you could easily get the amex marriot business and then chase boundless as keeper cards.
The Amex Marriott Biz will be in the fold soon. I need to work through my second 2nd Biz Platinum sub first but yes it is not bad. My targeted stays are currently Hilton and boutique hotels but hopefully will have the Amex Marriott Biz card before heading abroad.
You're correct, I was able to pick up the Amex Marriott Business card much sooner than planned. Marriott is now in the fold as a backup to Hilton in 2024.
@@RSquared-travel-rewards you're a baller on points! Have some great trips!
You have only 1 Chase card and you chose the worst one. If you don't care about Chase points, then go with the Ritz-Carlton card. Add the Preferred card if you care about Chase points.
If I did all of that, I wouldn't be able to bash Chase 😂
That's a cool looking dog picture hanging on the wall. Oh, I'm also a loyal Preferred cardholder with an $80K limit
My dog Cuse is a joy! $80K limit?? Wow, that's impressive!!
@@RSquared-travel-rewards The secret is I used to play the cards game a lot in my younger years. Get a new card and transfer the credit limit from the old card over. It adds up over the years.
Btw....amazing scenery on international trips.
I hope that means that I've earned your sub. Thanks for appreciating the effort.
9:32 what do you mean by “required card management”?
Thank you in advance
The Freedom Flex has quarterly categories which are eligible for 5%. Chase publishes new categories each quarter to which you have to opt in if you wish to utilize the 5% cash back. So by card management, you must remember to review the categories and opt in if they interest you. Most people prefer to set it and forget it. There is no way in the world my mom could manage a Freedom Flex card.
The Citi Custom cash on the other hand allows you to spend and they will apply 5% to your top spend category without you having to do any card management. Or you may elect to use the Citi Custom Cash card as a single category card like for gas card or as a dining card.
Mammoth 😂😂
Finally, someone gets it 🤣. Always need to bring some levity to the credit card conversation.
😂
Am I wrong or was it too much shade thrown Chase's way 😂😂
@@RSquared-travel-rewards no no you’re not wrong just funny to hear about Chase
@@rahulchohan2352 well I do like to have a bit of fun talking about credit cards. After all, it's a game if you play it right. Thanks for engaging with the channel 🙏
