- Here's my 5 reasons why I am not getting the Chase Sapphire Reserve. I thought about upgrading to the $550 annual fee card from the Chase Sapphire Preferred, but it just doesn't make sense for me. There's so many different opinions on the top travel credit cards and I hope to share my unique travel experiences, so that you can learn from my thought process.

And, that's why I kinda like the new Autograph Journey over the CSP. The Journey is not tied up to a portal which gives you the freedom to book flights & hotels @ 4-5x
Yeah the Autograph Journey is nice with the 4x and 5x multipliers. I'm so happy Wells Fargo decided not to stick these earnings categories to portal-only
CSR isn't worth it unless you have a crap ton of Chase points to make up that Annual fee, or you're like Jake Mercure and the card's perks like the Citi bikes happen to fit exactly in your lifestyle. I get there's some good multipliers but I'm not paying $250 for a 3x travel multiplier.
I completely agree! If your lifesytle fits perfectly for what the card can give you, the Sapphire Reserve will probably make sense. I just can't seem to figure out what I would actually use from this card that I can't get for $95 from the Sapphire Preferred
@@JacobsPointsAndProfit You got two legs man, hop on a bike! haha
@@jakemercure lol I wish I had those Citi bikes here. I'd love to rely on bikes and public transportation and get rid of my car haha
The main thing I like about Chase over all of them are their Travel Partners and how my Chase Freedom Limited points can be used with my CSR points.
Yeah the transfer partners are a huge deal and I’m happy the no annual fee cards are easy to use alongside the higher tier cards
ya that makes. if you already have the AmEx plat & the Cap1 VX, you probably dont need the CSR. Especially since you already have the CSP & CIP.
im still not sure which high end travel card i will go with between (platinum, VX or CSR).
I’m willing to pay a high annual fee but only if I get more value than I’m paying. I’d say the Venture X is the easiest to justify for most people but there will be different reasons for everyone on which card is best
CSR & AMEX Plat personal are both overrated
CSP at $50 hotel credit, global dining at 3x are both great
Yeah the Amex Platinum can be overrated for a lot of people. I find good value in it but many people would not
Smart Move Jacob
Seems like the best decision for now
AF on business cards are tax deductibles also
Yeah that’s really nice about the tax deduction as long as you use the cards for business purposes
CSP claims vendor is absolute 🚮
Interesting. Thanks for sharing your opinion
