How perfectly splendid right?
Nothing batter than this.
The Haunting series is really something else
Dreadfully right
Why of course!

No, i love this movie and his creepy song
This song is perfectly splendid isn't it
Oh why of course!
HAHAHA
🤣
It's me, its u , its us
I KNEW this variation of the haunting of Bly Manor was based off this film!!! The original was insane, the moment I saw Miles act like a grown man and watched or attempted to watch Dani undress I was like, "yep, little perv is a man"
Same
And the movie "The Innocents" is based on the novel "The Turn Of The Screw".
I love the turn of the screw film ,always watched that old black and white version growing up
@@EM-lz4rb
Huh? Ummmm it was BASED on the damn novel The Turn of the Screw! What ignorance and zero education 🤣😂
The innocents was based on this novel good god...
@@EM-lz4rbexactly!!! It was NOT BASED ON THIS MOVIE!!!
Am I crazy or does this sound like it could be a pirate tune , I can just picture a haunting ship sails across the sea full moon rising, mist flowing around it as it circles a willow tree off in the distance , no one knows why it does this but every Halloween it comes......
Totally agree 👻
I can see it being in the next pirates flim granted it's any good lol
It sounds like what the sirens sang
Are you a novelist?
This movie TRAUMATIZED my childhood.
Perectly Splendid Song
"The Innocents" is a classic, beautiful and hynotic. Often overlooked on best of lists, sadly. I've seen it a few times, once in a theater on a huge screen.
Do you know where can i watch it? Online

Underrated piece of art.
I think so...one of few movies who cannot disfigure with books
Name of the movie please
@@Kryzzpu The innocents
Seem a lot of versions of this story about Miles and Flora including a modern once set in 21st century but this is the best one feel it should have a Victorian setting
These stories are based on Turn of the screw by Henry James
*Considering it was 𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏 during the Victorian Age, I believe you are right.*
This is so perfectly splendid.
How perfectly splendid
Don't you agree Becs?
This has always been one of my favorite songs and scenes im so glad it’s getting the recognition it deserves
Some things are everlasting! ❤
Such as your beauty 😍🌻🌻🌻
@@aminezizou2932 I'll take it as a compliment! 🍃🌷🍃
This video is beautiful in a haunting way, the way her mind seems to slip by all the ghost showing up
This song secretly tells a story about 2 lovers beside each other in their graves and eventually one of their graves were relocated and now one can't find the other
edit - thank you for telling me what the story of this song actually is lol
LMAO that’s not hat the song is about…..that’s like a child’s version….so no…do you even know where the song is from? Christ. No one has deeper intelligence anymore. Or maybe 15% of us do.
@@6Haunted-Days is there something wrong with theorizing for fun? let me have fun in peace and kindly shut the absolute fuck up, thank you :)
@@6Haunted-Days also who cares if i dont know where the song is from, it doesnt make me dumb just for not knowing where a song is from and trying to theorizing what it might mean, even if i am wrong
no it's from a movie it's from the perspective of someone who's lover died and their grief kills them in turn
@@oscarnewman1374 thank you for being kind and respectful about your explanation unlike @6Haunted-Days who tried insulting me after i merely just didnt know the context of this song
so happy to have recognized this from the Innocents. i never thought there would be a time when my two favorite classic horror films would be made into popular series'.
This song is perfectly splendid
My favorite movie.
If I may ask, which movie is it?
@@akritimondal5473 The Innocents (1961) with Deborah Kerr. It's based on the book The Turn Of The Screw
@kreshBACON thank you so much. 😊
YALL ALREADY KNOW WHY IM HERE👇🏾
BLY MANOR‼️‼️‼️‼️😂😂‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️😂😂😂😂🙈
understandable XD
Yup, we’re expected
I love that the Innocents is getting the love it deserves after Haunting of Bly Manor's success. Turn of the Screw is a fantastic Henry James novella and these two adaptations are my favorite. And this song is a large reason.
Bly Manor brought me here....this version so so beautiful 😍❤
Lyrics:
We lay my love and I beneath the weeping willow.
But now alone I lie and weep beside the tree.
Singing 'Oh willow waly' by the tree that weeps with me.
Singing 'Oh willow waly' till my lover return to me.
We lay my love and I beneath the weeping willow.
A broken heart have I. Oh willow I die, oh willow I die.
Such a beautiful song... ❤️
I thank you for entertaining my ear drums....
Perfectly splendid, isn't it, Flora?
This is just perfectly splendid 🥰
Such a good rendition of this song. Might even be my favorite version now
Beautiful!!♥️♥️
I just watched this movie for the first time and I'm still really on the fence on whether I believe the ghosts were real or not. Like I've seen plenty of media where it's kinda left up to the viewer whether or not the supernatural stuff was real or just in the main character's head, but most of the time I'm able to decide one way or the other. I wasn't able to with this film.
A perfecly splendid mix of music and film
its perfectly splendid
So wonderful ❤
Well, it's perfectly splendid.
Perfectly Splendid
Well it's just perfectly splendid
Oh damn this is gorgeous thank you
perfectly splendid
Beautiful voice.
amazing and creepy!!! i love this movie!"!!!!!
Splendidly creepy?
Where can I see it
there are so many similarities and links between this and bly manor. 2:58 is like rebecca in bly manor.
I'm currently listening to your cover while enjoying a walk in a forest. Now the forest is haunted.
The young girl (Flora) is portrayed by Pamela Franklin who would go on to play Sandy in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, the vehicle that shot Maggie Smith to stardom .
That kid at the fire is as creepy as the dude in the window.
WAIT the bug in the mouth thing in this video is a link to the bug in the cat's mouth in hill house (the first season of the haunting series)
Yessssssss
iam here because of haunting of bly manor
I love this song! I love the movie"The Innocents " it's so eerily creepy! This song is perfect in it's sadness and longing! If you like to read ,this movie is based on " The Turn of the Screw" by Henry James, scary, gave me the creep' n dreads! If you don't have access to the movie, Look up "Mile's Speech" ,pure horror, good luck sleeping, pleasant dreams!😧
It's actually listed as Mile's poem
Way back in 1898, American author Henry James wrote a haunting novella titled "The Turn of the Screw". Hollywood naturally picked up the plot and soon this poem, written by Truman Capote specifically for the movie "The Innocents", was presented for the young character "Miles" to deliver... which he does in spooky SPECTACULAR fashion!!! - entire poem reads as follows:......
😫
What shall I sing to my Lord from my window?
What shall I sing for my Lord will not stay?
What shall I sing for my Lord will not listen?
Where shall I go for my Lord is away?
Whom shall I love when the moon has arisen?
Gone is my Lord, and the grave is his prison.
What shall I say when my Lord comes a-calling?
What shall I say when he knocks on my door?
What shall I say when his feet enter softly...
leaving the mark of the grave on my floor?
Enter my Lord, come from your prison.
Come from your grave for the moon has arisen.
Welcome my Lord.
END.
Yikes!!! ...if you've seen the movie you'll know how frightening these words came across! Ghostly shivers galore!
😳Chilling! And the look that Miles gives the governess afterwards!😱😬
This is happening again .....ohh I am being tucked away again
Classic
does anyone know where I could find the uke/guitar pattern for this?
I get, the song is just "Perfectly splendid".
:)
♡
I came here after watching the trailer of The Haunting of Bly Manor - who else is here ?
The turn of the screw
Why is everyone saying, “perfectly splendid?”
It's a line from The Haunting of Bly Manor (on Netflix), in which this tune was featured.
Mike Flanagan is trying to tell us something about Bly Manor!
Okay okay!
The song was released almost 5 years ago, and all the comments are just 9-8 months old. Nobody knew the song's existance before Bly 🌚
A lot of people knew. Especially if they saw “The Innocents”.
*Nobody who came here from Bly knew of Henry James' existence
What else is this from? I’ve heard it in different scary movies and since watching the haunting of bly manor it’s annoying me that I can’t think where else it’s from
Deren Brown Svengali!
It was used in The Innocents (1961) film :)
It's also in the woman in black 2 trailer
@@kalino_yshh8 yes!!!

Bly manor 🎉
I am pretty sure that the whole concept of ep8 of The Haunting of Bly Manor is taken from this music video
This is a movie, not a music video
How so?
Christ it’s from a BOOK…..THE TURN OF THE SCREW……ITS BEEN ADAPTED 20x LITERALLY……THE BLY MANOR BS IS GARBAGE…..THAT SILLY SERIES HAS ZERO TO DO WITH THE BOOK OR THIS VIDEO. JUST HOW IGNORANT CAN YOU BE TO SUGGEST THAT? 🙄🤮🤡
Everyone here for Bly Manor, i just came for the game Slender The Arrival
I was a little disappointed that Bly Manor was basically this awesome film but in a modernish setting.
I was expecting them to change more considering how much Hill House changed from the book
Nice huh?
Paranormal Asylum brought me here
yine bir anının içine sıkışıp kaldım dimi?
Probably
:)
This ain’t even the original version. Go find that one it sounds WAY better
the original is best
The song does start at 00:30. Good version. But the first 30 seconds detroyed the video. Then again at 03:40 the trying of make it haunted sounds or something, has just sounded as noise
Thanks for sharing your opinion of my arrangement. I was just having fun with the effects at the start and at the end, and I like what I created. Glad you liked the main part in the middle :)
It didn’t destroy the video….you have no eye or ear for art…..so GTFO. Christ so SICK of the uneducated and stupid.
Netflix...
Not me lol
Wtf is bly manor
Its perfectly splendid!
A series on Netflix
And the house
I’m sorry. You don’t cover this wonderful old melody with…bongos!!
Hi @salo120 I'm not sure what you mean, I'm sorry. There are no bongos in this arrangement. Are you referring to the percussive effects I created by tapping on my guitar in the intro and outro?
Christ this song is haunting and gorgeous then you come here and say it’s bongos WHICH IT CLEARLY ISNT……how uneducated.
Listen closely @ 3:46. If it's not bongos, then it's so other percussion instrument. @@6Haunted-Days
Beautiful old melody and lyrics, but sorry, your modern percussive "improvement" at beginning and end took away from the magic. Leave it alone, I say.@@DuncanGardinerClassicalGuitar
Also percussion at the beginning of this 'cover' of the classic melody. Totally unnecessary...
Anyone after watching the Bly Manor?😎
The Haunting of Bly Manor is terrible. The Innocents was a brilliant masterpiece.
